Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Toscana

I just went on my first cruise on the Costa Toscana and I loved it! Great food, fantastic crew and a beautiful ship. The ship is very new and feels very luxurious. It's a big ship, so I needed a few days to know my way around. Everywhere in the ship are interactive boards where you can find all info about decks, daily programm and restaurants. You also can find all this in a very usefull ...

Not all bad but the little nuances build up

First off, I think I owe the previous reviewers an apology! We sailed with Costa previously some years ago and felt very comfortable being English speakers and enjoyed spending time with our European counterparts, we felt that things couldn't be that different and perhaps it was just people not really used to being surrounded by the European Culture. However once boarding we soon realised that ...

Worst cruise ever!,

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Smeralda

Completed a transatlantic from US to,Barcelona. The Costa Smeralda did a Mediterranean cruise 2 days after our transatlantic and went to ports we wished to see, such as Sicily, Rome… Upon boarding, we were advised we needed to download the Costa App in order to get the daily news, events, times & menus. U.S Americans could not download the app (due to incompatibility between Costa & ...

I readed a lots of bad reviews about Costa Smeralda. Most of them are from Covid time, so I don't know if it was due to restrictions or Costa Smeralda improved the services but I have only good experiences with travelling on Costa Smeralda. The ship is nice, very clean, food was really good and the stuff was very nice and friendly. I Was afraid at first that so big ship will be overcrowded but it ...

Worse cruise ever

Costa was chosen due to ports of calls, and past experience on Costa many years ago. From day 1 cruise was a disappointment. Four of us seated at 2 different tables. Waiter could care less about my wife and I at our own table. Food when it did arrive was coolish at best. It got worse everyday. This was not a cruise but a ferry ride as passengers embarked and disembark at every port. Talking to ...

Costa toscana TRICKS YOU with the cabin they show you on the booking and what you actually get on the boat

After complaining several times at reception that the cabin assigned did not comply with the characteristics contracted as being 3 adults neither the space nor the type of beds was correct, apart from not corresponding to the photos which are provided by themselves, and in the event that I had seen that picture of cabin logically I would not have hired it. The response from reception was that the ...

To begin, I'd like to share some background about my cruising experience. Over the past 30 years, my wife and I have embarked on 43 cruises with various cruise lines, such as Seabourn, Regent, Oceania, Viking, Norwegian, Celebrity, Princess, Royal Caribbean, Carnival, MSC, and, of course, Costa. This review covers our recent 7-night cruise aboard the Costa Toscana, departing from Rome. On May ...

Nice ship, very bad service

I chose the crusie because MSC cancelled their cruise in similar dates. I thought that what matters the most is the ship. Unfortunately I was very wrong. MSC quality in comparison to Costa is like Mercedes to Dacia. Costa Toscana is a nice ship, new clean with many useful facilities. But all pros ends here. Service is slow, food is awful ( I couldn't believe that no vegetables are ...

We are veterans of about 25 cruises. We have been on NCL, HAL, Celebrity, Windstar, Viking, Princess and Carnival. We have cruised the Caribbean, the Mediterranean the Baltic, Alaska and a trans Atlantic. This was our first cruise on Costa. We joined some extended family who had already booked. They are European. 1) The Costa App is not compatible with the US App Store, so we could not ...

Wouldn’t recommend to USA passengers

Every information you need for the ship including meal and drink menus were in the costa app which none of the American cells networks are compatible with. Didn’t find that information until 3 days later. If you have a smart phone you can still scan QR code of wherever place you are in the boat. Well they should have that detail disclose somewhere when you book the cruise as they know who is from ...
