Joined this ship in Dubai near the end of January for a five night cruise to Muscat, Sir Bani Yas Island and Abu Dhabi. We had an inside cabin on Deck 1 which was right under the Piazza Casanova, so there was quiet a lot of bumping and music until 1am. This didn’t bother us too much as we like music and dancing so we rarely turn in before 12.30 anyway. After 1am it was really quiet until 8am so ...
We take a trip from Dubai through gulf. The ship was nice , but nothing special. It looks like Venice in 17. Century. Embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly, We took a cabin with balcony. It is not in very good condition any more. Reatorant for diner is beautifull, Dining food is good, but staff is very slow and made a lot of mistakes. Several times we spent almost 2 hours for a meal. Bar ...
This was our first cruise on Costa, but our 16th overall. Here are our honest thoughts on the various aspects. The cruise was 7 nights and embarked at Dubai.
Flight
------
We booked the flight independently of the cruise. It was an Emirates flight from LHR to Dubai. It was an overnight flight that landed in Dubai at 6am. In hindsite, this was the wrong choice as embarkation didn't start ...
To meet up with Italian friends this was the perfect venue. Every evening the shows were especially entertaining: the tenor Emanuele Servidio is world class, worth taking the cruise just to hear his voice. The shows had amazing singing, dancing, production & lighting.
Max, the cruise director, is hilarious-he speaks all the languages as fast as an auctioneer!
The animation team has so ...
The itinerary was good but book your own tours.
Housekeeping and serving staff work very hard on these ships.
Staff numbers, food, etc. seemed skimpy and we wondered if liabilities from Costa Concordia are having an impact or if this is how cruise lines are going. If so hope people speak up.
No cream for coffee. No ice cream, sorry, Gelato, but told it will be coming soon but you will ...
Sadly, for us, not one of the best - maybe even our worst, for stupid niggling reasons.
Poor service, and they don't seem to care...
Embarkation was very easy, through Port Everglades. Upon boarding they did said they would advise when our cabins would be available, and bags there, but that was never announced. In the end we just went up to the room and found our cases in the room with the ...
We have cruised over 40 times. Costa was the one we never did before. The ship is beautiful and clean. Unfortunately that is the only good thing about this cruise. We couldn't believe how limited everything was unless you paid more. Pizza on an Italian ship NOT INCLUDED cost $8.50. No iced tea or lemon aid. Couldn't have a glass of wine with dinner unless you purchased a bottle. Activities ...
My first cruise and it did not scare me off from going on others. It did however cement our resolve never to cruise with Costa again. A bedlam of constant noise, either from the clientele (if you do not enjoy Italian style of communications... don't go! Just sayin!) or from the very frequent announcements. If if wasn't the daily safety drill (yes, this cruise is a rolling cruise... peep ...
We have just returned home from a weeks cruise around the Med on the Costa Diadema. This was my annual birthday cruise and we have cruised on the Diadema before, this was our 3rd time. I shall post comments on how we found our cruise experience to be but this will be a lengthy review. I shall be posting menus, and current drinks prices as well as extracts from the daily whats on programme. For ...
