We’ve always wanted to visit Australia and especially the Great Barrier Reef. Choosing a cruise makes it easy to see the places you really want to see without having to drag your luggage around with you and pack and unpack. We chose this particular cruise because it was one of the few cruises that actually visit the Great Barrier Reef.
This was our fourth cruise, but our first with Celebrity. ...
for the Panama Canel, food was below standard the meals in the dining room were good and bad, the meals repeated themselves, we were served pork that was not eatable , I was served fish that was way overcooked, were served rolls that were very stale, most of the deserts were very good, the cabin and cabin steward was above standard never had to ask for anything including ice! Ship is old and had ...
This review joins others covering the recent cruise from Sydney to Singapore on the Celebrity Solstice. As with my other reviews on this site, I always want to start by describing myself as someone you will find at the bars, restaurants, gym and casinos - not the shows.
First to confirm what others have said - the ship is tired in places. (No comparison, for example, to the Diamond ...
The best thing about this cruise we thought was the exciting ports. After that, there was nothing good about this ship. Neither the ship nor the staff.....No one smiled and clearly they were over worked and tired. Not enough help on board..can you imagine that??? They always have enough help that seem to trip over each other. Clearly cost cutting..
Let me explain some..How many times have ...
Been on several other cruises. Was not happy with being asked continually to pay extra for drink packages, extra dining also so much encouragement to shop as an activity. Photos pushed at you every where. Bingo was $38US for 3 games. We found everything was very expensive especially as it's US dollars. Entertainment was pretty average. Food in buffet was not real good. cold vegetables when ...
We had previously taken the East-to-West cruise through the canal and thought it would be interesting to take the cruise in the opposite direction as the ports of call were different. We have also cruised enough now to make the ship our "destination" as much as the direction and ports. Cruising with friends is a fun and relaxing way to spend time together as well as to share and compare ...
Boarding: San Francisco's cruise port area is quite congested and one needs to allow extra time for arrival. The main boulevard is blocked with traffic on cruise days, and the only public transport from the airport subway ("BART") is serviced by historic trolleys that require hauling your luggage up and down steps, AND the trolleys are crammed with riders. The subcontractor that handles check-in ...
I chose this cruise as am teaching in Shanghai and thought it would be a good idea to escape the crowds over the national holiday week here and learn more about surrounding areas. Although the ship and my balcony cabin were great - certainly didnt manage to escape the crowds! The embarkation at Baoshan was chaotic with huge long queues and little assistance with priority status or the promised ...
My husband had a cruise through the Panama Canal on his bucket list and this cruise on the Celebrity Infinity coincided with his birthday. We had been looking at Royal Caribbean itineraries and was surprised (and disappointed) to find that RC had ceded the Panama Canal routes to their new sister company Celebrity. I booked the cruise on the Celebrity Infinity without his knowledge and surprised ...
We live in Vancouver so departure port was perfect. We had a balcony on the first leg to Tokyo and then an inside for the second leg to Shanghai. As others have stated, the ship appeared rusty and needed some paint. Overall I thought it was a rather ugly ship on the outside with black deck and a square rear end.
On the first leg the lecturers and entertainment were superb. Best lecturers ...
