Having been on 40+ cruises, I'm sorry to report, this one was the worst I ever experienced.

I want to confirm that this review is based on my own experiences and is factually correct and represents my honestly held views. We embarked from Clarkston, Washington sailed to Pendelton, Oregon and on to The Dalles, Oregon stopping again at The Multnomah Falls in Stevenson, Washington and finally disembarked in Portland, Oregon. Both the slow ride and small towns we stopped in were ...

June 2022 - My wife and I have been on numerous cruises (25+) throughout the world on various cruise lines over the years. This was our second river cruise on American Cruise Lines. Our Columbia and Snake Rivers cruise started on June 9 in Clarkston, Washington. Our flight from Florida arrived a few days early, June 6, so we could enjoy the Lewiston, ID and Clarkston, WA areas. We stayed ...

Columbia & Snake Rivers Cruise.

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Harmony

The cruise actually started in Lewiston, Idaho but Cruise Critic does not have that in the required drop down menu. It was the west bound passage ending in Portland, Oregon (actually Hayden Island, Oregon. (The east bound passage has the same itinerary only in reverse). It traversed eight locks on the way to the mouth of the Columbia River following the route of Lewis and Clark. It was very ...

Review: American Cruise Lines, American Song, June 5 through June 12, 2022 Our experience on American Cruise Line’s ship the American Song was a wonderful experience. It was both relaxing, enjoyable, and fun to be pampered. The scenery of mountains, as well as seeing the Columbia and Snake Rivers was beautiful and at times breath-taking. We enjoyed waking up to sit out on our deck each morning ...

What Happened to American Cruise Lines?

Review for a North America River Cruise on American Constitution

We chose this cruise because we had cruised American Cruise Lines previously and had a 5 star experience. Unfortunately this cruise was not even close. This is a very expensive cruise line (about $1,000 a day per person - based on double occupancy) and the passengers are mostly senior citizens. Our boarding experience was chaotic. There was a long boardwalk to the boat with no assistance for ...

Try Sea Dream instead

Having very little knowledge of the South and never having been on a river cruise, I fell for the slick promos American Cruise lines produced, where. Five star cruise was promised . Ha! The suite was nice (new ship) but the food was mundane at best , inedible at times and often not what was described on the menu.. I compare the caviar , lobster and filet on Sea Dream to the meatloaf , raw ...

We hadn’t seen much of the northwest US so we decided to try the American Cruise Line Harmony's cruise from Portland, Oregon to Clarkston, Washington on the Columbia and Snake Rivers. The ship is small and only had 150 passengers on our trip. We were in Room 308, a comfortable two room suite with a small balcony. I think it was next to the captain's cabin and the bridge was just beyond that. ...

If you DON'T care about the scenery . . . or the service . . . or the food . . . or the lectures . . . or the cost. . . go ahead, book. ITINERARY: The itinerary we bought was a full day cruising the Snake and several hours on the Gorge. The company eliminated both. "Rolling river views," only available if you left the ship and rented a kayak. SERVICE: We had to call for replacement of ...

I really enjoyed my relaxing cruise on the Mississippi. Staff really catered to all of our needs. Cruise price included excursions in every port. I had the chance to learn many things about the civil war, visit museums, and several beautiful plantations. Tour guides were very entertaining.Back on the ship we had relevant lectures and even had the opportunity to take a fun art class. In the evening ...

Worst Vacation Ever

Worst vacation in 2/22 by far. So many things were just wrong, and no complaint dept. They just don't care if you are unhappy. Changed my room to near elevator and gang plank, making veranda unusable, safe unusable,no phone, clock, burst into my room during the night by mistake, no apology ever. The ships staff had covid, so I got covid, thought they had to be checked as we were before entering the ...
