A romantic river cruise? The A Rosa Viva advertising is more alluring than the experience. I echo the English speaking commentaries about a distinct lack of staff training. Even attempting to point out the lack of respect shown to us from a waitress, the maitre de brushed it off as normal behaviour. The cleaning personnel were the friendliest, and not as pompous as their colleagues. The engine ...
If you are not German stay away from this ship. We signed up for a Seine cruise with English company Saga who miss sold this cruise. The excursions were in German. The food was advertised as Mediterranean but was German and very low quality. The ship was in need of an upgrade. The officers were grumpy apart from French Captain and First officer who were helpful. Crew were good and helpful. Drinks ...
I liked the ports of call, especially Costa Rica & Cartagena.
The service was excellent - all the staff were friendly and treated us like we were special. Food was diverse and well presented.
Captain Matthias was always informativeand greeted the guests on several occasions.
Our cabin 5122 was a little tight but we got used to it- between the bed and mirrored desk/dresser. The cabin was ...
Disclaimer - this was our first river cruise, and first cruise on a non-American ship, therefore hard to compare. Will give thoughts based on overall experience in case other nonEuropeans are considering.
7 day New Years cruise on Seine River.
2 cabins, 4 guests. (Including on child and one in a wheelchair)
Expectations/Assumptions: smaller ship, older passengers, not a “party” ship, ...
First of all let me start by saying I don’t usually bother giving any reviews as I believe nothing can be absolutely perfect in life and I like being tolerant and giving the benefit of the doubt. However I do feel that our experience on the A-Rosa Viva does warrant a review, especially as an ‘educational’ exercise to non- German speaking travellers like us.
Will seek to make the review as ...
Our family decided to take a Christmas Market cruise but wanted to spend time in London. We selected ARosa because of their selection of 4-day itineraries and their moderate pricing . We had no doubts about the ports of call but were somewhat concerned about the communication and food offerings on a german-based cruise line.
Once on-board what we found was a beautiful, spotless boat, an ...
We chose to cruise with A-Rosa because the travel agent booked us on a specific Christmas Markets cruise for four nights. The markets were the only reason we decided to bite the bullet and try a river cruise (it was our first ever cruise of any kind, river or sea). It was also advertised as being an English speaking cruise. Two days before we were due to board, we got an email saying that due ...
3 Days Prague and 7 Nights A Rosa Donna. 2nd-12th August 2018 booked through Imagine Cruising ( most of it was left to our imagination). We had to ask a Viking rep to track down our Imagine rep,at Prague Airport an hour late and couldn’t speak much English, so we were left in hotel to do our own thing. Hotel basic but did the job and you needed tram to get to Prague.
Nobody from Imagine and ...
We chose it as we wanted to revisit an area of France we knew well from at least 25 years of camping among the vineyards of southern France.
We arrived in Lyon on excellent Eurostar direct from St Pancras.
We were met and whisked swiftly through the lovely city of Lyon to the pretty riverside, to embark on A-ROSA Stella, emblazoned with ( rather naff looking ) red lips!
We were swiftly ...
The southern Rhine Christmas market theme cruise.
Taking in Mannheim , Heidelberg, Strasbourg and Mainz.
The excursions where add ons and needed to be booked as in most cases except for Strasbourg your where moored to far away and all on the German side of the river.
The excursion was not a guided one as all it was , was a transfer to a market with set time of collection. No guide no ...
