First cruise and I was terrified due to negative reviews on here. Our review...well we are now hooked....an amazing cruise. We ate everywhere...enjoyed it all. The ships crew are constantly cleaning to keep the ship presentable. The entertainment is amazing. Attend as much as possible. All incredibly enjoyable especial the Maquee live shows. Entertainment crew hilarious Mathew Dom Pablo Miguel etc. We had the smaller cheaper cabins which were perfect for our budget and needs....hot showers were amazing. Many reviews complained about the interior being old....well I'm no spring chicken either any more but it's how you present yourself and this ship is no different....the decor is gorgeous. We did a few pacific Islands and pre booked our tours through the ship and had a great time being emersed in the culture and saw some amazing scenery. All our kids 3-17 attended kids clubs Turtle cove HQ and HQ+ and loved it experience. We also had EDGE packages. These were prepaid great for 7-25yrs. Our adults would probably pay per session next time as didn't get the value from pre purchasing. Thankyou from the bottom of our hearts for your passion to serve. Sad to see you retiring but hope to travel again with P&O and see some familiar faces. Read Less

The crew, security and cleaning staff were all stellar. Melbourne folks are an absolute blast to party with. Carnival Liberty sells more alcohol than any other ship in the fleet largely due to the good folks from Melbourne's love for celebrating life to the fullest! If your looking for a glass-half-full trip then this is the one. It's also largely suitable for families, we could see no evidence of any impropriety.. just great great times. Truffles restaurant was great and they would break the dinner up with their dancing cabaret through the enthused diners. We didn't really try the buffet up on the Lido deck except for cooked breakfasts. The staff were so very courteous and helpful. They made the whole experience very personable one which I really love. The best advice I can give is don't try to participate in all the activities all the time - you will exhaust yourself. Just pace yourself and give yourself a little buffer to go and enjoy the view of Bass Straight from the observation deck. Read Less

We flew from Sydney to Melbourne and Boarded Golden Princess on the day of sailing. Airport to Ship transfer was arranged and we flew by own arrangements. Transfer worked very smoothly. Boarding smooth and quick on arrival at the dock. We chose this cruise for a short break and it was visiting Hobart which is not new to us. Port Arthur and Phillip Island were new ports for us and easy to do ourselves. Phillip island has not had many cruise ships call and need to take more advantage of the influx to benefit and improve the experience for those who come ashore. We attended the Gym on days we were at sea or had no need to disembark early. The gym was well maintained. Our Balcony cabin was in good condition with plenty of storage and well kept by our cabin attendant. My wife has some dietary restrictions and the head waiter in the Canaletto Dining Room went out of his way to arrange her meals for the next night as we left each evening. We ate at the crown grill one night and that was well worthwhile. The ship is a bit old and we have been on ships with a better and less confusing layout. The atrium was not as large or as good a feature as some of the newer ships. Like most ships specialty coffee was pretty ordinary when compared with good coffee shops in any Australian capital city. Cappuccio's were particularly ordinary with the possible exception of the International café. Cappuccino's are meant to be at a certain temperature range and should not burn your mouth. The theatre entertainment was a bit pedestrian. The Princess singers and dancers however made up for performance by plenty of enthusiasm and volume. The crew were the main standout on this cruise and are what makes a cruise enjoyable. Read Less

Hi Just been on tennis cruise , great trip and great tennis. I note next year that it is longer cruise..... more time for the tennis I hope. Our tennis was cut short as we had to return to the ship and I believe some of passengers were caught in traffic and not able to get back at designated time...... The big screen showed live coverage but it was a bit cold and windy to be there( unpleasant). A few more bars with coverage would have been great, and in our rooms too . We discussed this with many fellow passengers and they seemed to feel the same. Any chance of facilitating better communications with internet and phone access in this day and age ? The information this was not available would have been most helpful. We had some issues with our room and the staff handled it in a professional manner. We found the shows of a great professional standard and enjoyed the performances. Over all the Cruise was great fun, I was very excited to be on a cruise and to be going to the live tennis as well. I found it took just a little time to adjust to cruise life and to orientate to the ship but once mastered felt comfortable to find my way around. Just loved going under the Harbour Bridge both ways a good patriotic feeling. !!!!! I am keen to book again and look forward to refinements and adjustment you might make now following this the maiden cruise to the tennis. I meet a lot of mad tennis fans on the ship, we need a tennis focus on this cruise news and updates all the time !!!!!!!! Thanks for listening !!!!!! Great ship Pacific Pearl Read Less
