Chose this cruise for the ports and weather. The ship and facilities were disappointing. Lack of stock in shops. Entertainment when at dinner and over by 10pm. Geared to asian clientele. We boarded the ship in Dubai, to Barcelona, having originally booked to stay on her to Miami, until a change of dry dock was made.

Firstly I know this ship has just gone in for a six week refurbishment. That being said having cruised with Royal many times ( Diamond Plus) I found myself constantly defending their policy’s but I can’t defend the indefensible. We just returned from our Royal Caribbean cruise on Mariner of the Seas. It is our understanding that Mariner will be leaving Galveston and going to Asia in two weeks and Navigator will be replacing it in Galveston. We flew from Manchester via Amsterdam to Rome Fiumicino on Fri, 24th Aug and arrived at 10:30 pm to stay overnight at the Hilton Rome Airport Hotel that is 'attached' to the airport. We sailed from Civitavechia on 4 August.
RCI remains as good as anyone in some aspects of cruising such as embarkation/disembarkation.
Professional off-ship entertainers [on two evenings] also keeps them above the cheaper cruise companies.
Staff are all terrific as usual.
