Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC World Europa

We chose this cruise to try a different experience having mainly sailed with celebrity cruises . Also it appeared we had a good deal. However we had a partial view balcony on deck 16. Directly above us was the pool deck. Can you imagine the noise of deck chairs being scraped across the floor at all hours. we booked a city trip in marseille for our first tour. What an absolute rip off. We got on ...

CARNIVAL trading as P&O

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Azura

We chose based on dates, itinerary, price and P&O reputation. Our balcony cabin was roomy, comfortable and mostly well kept. It's a tired older ship, cabin carpet had some stains, the fridge barely worked and the cold water wasn't cold. The ship was crowded, it being August, and felt it at times. Reception weren't great. The main restaurant food was often good, never great, but sometimes iffy. The ...

Dated cabins, poor service, lackluster entertainment and poor choice of food

This was our first time on P&O, having done many cruises with RC and Celebrity. We were disappointed pretty early on, to be honest. The ship in parts is very nice and modern but in other areas it's very dated and even chlostrophobic. Weird fake grass up on deck which looks cheap and when wet, stays wet for a long time. Pools too small. Cabin very dated - for a ship still relatively new I ...

So this is our 19th cruise and the 4th on p&o. 1st time on Azura and sadly it will be our last! The entertainment and ship wide facilities are good. Nice layout, good pools, plenty of loungers. So the best bits 5* for entertainment. The theatre is well equipped with amazing light and sound and the shows are excellent. Great dancing and some excellent vocals from the male lead singers and ...

So much could be better

Chose this 7-day cruise because of the destinations en route. The "buffet" leaves a lot to be desired - poor choice of dishes, terrible organisation in terms of getting people through, inadequate tea and coffee stations which always lacked simple things like teaspoons, the food was consistently cold and/or dry. One of the main irritations was the captain. Multiple times a day he would make ...

Disappointing

Overall a disappointing experience. It doesn’t help to have seen the ‘salami slicing’ cost saving measures affect the quality of the cruise each year, having cruised with P&O ships mainly for over 20 years. The ship is rather tired and though the cabin size and layout (superior balcony) is good, it needs a refurb. Doesn’t help that we’re not told the times of flights before choosing an airport. ...

Ineptly organised transfers and P &O penny pinching marred the 2 week cruise.

This was our 12th cruise, and our 4th on Azura/ Ventura. Chosen due to 5 of the ports of call were new to us. There were very many first time cruisers on this trip who thought the Azura experience was brilliant, but the experienced cruisers we spoke to were, like ourselves, rather disappointed with the lowered standards and penny pinching by P & O. First thing we experienced was - blamed on ...

pleasant cruise; embarkation in Malta, Ship is a good size, not huge, not tiny Weather was clement - only ROME had rain but the day at sea from Cagliari to Hράκλειον (Heraklion) was bad around Sicily and Malta - we had great laughs trying to learn Latin american dancing with the ship thundering against the huge waves and the dance floor in Maharini's at the prow bouncing like a drum skin ...
