Greek islands and Athens cruise - excellent choice and weather was mostly hot

My husband and I chose this cruise as we wanted a taster cruise of the Greek islands. We were very lucky with the weather for October. 28 degrees most days. We have stayed on the Oceana before about 7 years ago and although it is supposed to have had a refit it is definitely not in the same good condition. It is looking very tired. Atrium is an exception to this - still beautiful. Our cabin ...

First cruise. Pleased with the look of the ship. Very clean and sparkly. Pleased with cabin, it was compact but had lots of little drawers and shelves so all our stuff had a home. Buffet was like being at school! You were presented with a tray with napkin and cutlery and you queued round the counters, Horrible! You made your own coffee/ tea and then found a table. Staff in bars, atrium, shops ...

We chose this cruise as it stopped at nine destinations, six of which we had not visited before on previous cruises. Journey from Valetta airport to ship was fine, registration efficient. As always you are met with friendly faces and a beautiful atrium, we immediately bought the non alcoholics package which included soft drinks as well as costa coffees/hot chocolate. We didn’t use the ...

Transfer from airport to cruise terminal very quick. Fast, efficient check in and luggage delivered quickly. Lots of other delayed flights so we left Valetta 4-5 hours later than scheduled. Oceana is showing its age now, especially in the cabins. Our balcony cabin (C409) , felt very cramped. Few stains on the carpet. Wall panels grubby and dull. Bathroom is very very small and very ...

7 day fly cruise around the Greek Islands with two restful sea days. Perfect itenary for us and although we have sailed many many times with P&O we had never been on Oceana. Firstly , we were aware of her size and age, so expectations were not high. However it has to be said the staff are excellent, friendly and provide excellent service. Nothing is too much trouble. The food was also of a ...

Having been on the Britannia and really enjoyed the ship we thought we would give P&O another chance as we really wanted to see Venice and Dubrovnik. The ship was fine but not at the same standard as the Brittania, quite crowded, no quiet places and lack of specialist dining being the obvious differences. Dining in the main restaurant was very good with a menu whereby you could always find ...

We chose this cruise simply because it went where we wanted to go. Embarkation was good, very easy. The balcony cabin on deck C was of adequate size, the bathroom a little on the small side. We are not big but some of the guests on board would have struggled. They give you the option of hanging your towels if not needing replacement, but they replaced them daily anyhow, but not the sheets. We were ...

Penny pinching P&O

Review for Oceana to Mediterranean

Probably our last tip with P&O. It used to be the small details that made the difference with them, now they seem to be disappearing. The little dish of sweets in the cabin have gone, the nice biscuits have been replaced with cheap rubbish, buffet food has gone downhill badly and the new alcohol policy just smacks of penny pinching. Oceana herself is a lovely old ship but she is old and clearly ...
