This was our 16th cruise with Thomsom/TUI/Marella and we have been left absolutely disgusted with many aspects of the cruise from start to finish. Our overall summary is that the standard of the Marella cruise has plummeted dramatically in terms of service, cleanliness, food, entertainment and friendliness of staff. We do not intend to travel on a Marella cruise again.

Having sailed once before in the Caribbean with Star Flyer we decided on taking it across the Atlantic. The 23 day crossing was a combination of Malaga, Spain to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria (9 days) and Las Palmas to Barbados (14 days). Due to popularity it was over a year from booking to sailing. This has been our third Transatlantic crossing (Malaga to Barbados) all on Seadream1 and it’s been the best.
We are still on board and I must say that our experience has been a lot better than one comment already posted.
The sea from Malaga to Madeira was a bit choppy, but they were still able to serve dinner on the rear outside upstairs decks, so there was no rocking and rolling.
