Captain and cruise director denied there were any problems with the engines.

Review for Aegean Odyssey to Mediterranean

Excursions. Unique and well orchestrated shore trips. However, the captain continually lied regarding the reasons for skipping ports and cruising at only 5 knots. Crete maritine authority nearly denied the ship permission to leave Chania port without a seaworthy test. Had to limp to Athens. Ship has NO activities on sea days other than a couple of lectures and bridge (which we don't play), ...

This is our third time on the Aegean Odyssey. It will be our last time on the Aegean Odyssey. The ship suffered engine problems on the previous cruise and they were forced to issue a Full refund to all passengers. The company has confirmed that our ship suffered a similar fate and the company made a decision to put a priority on getting the ship to Athens. That meant dropping ports, ...

A once in a lifetime experience - (NEVER AGAIN).

Review for Aegean Odyssey to Mediterranean

What a disastrous cruise experience. It is difficult to know where to start with this review. We always try hard to give a balanced and factual review. On this occasion there is not much we can say which is positive. The Aegean Odyssey is an old ship (nearing its 50th year). Originally built as a ferry it has been refitted as a small passenger ship. To be fair it not in bad shape for a ...

I give this cruise, the ship, the staff, the food, everything EXCEPT TUI, full marks. If Tui step up their game, and put customer service instead of money first, then there would be very little to moan about. Yes, my gripes are more like moans. I was determined my first ever cruisewould not be spoiled by a petty nasty Destination Services person. Dear Julie, oh how I will always remember ...

STAFF: The staff were all polite, well mannered, very customer focused, impeccably dressed, clean and easily identifiable. They could not do enough for us. We felt valued throughout. Some had more confidence than others but that all comes with experience. We felt that every single member of staff smiles’ were genuine. They looked like they enjoyed their work. We particularly enjoyed engaging ...

This was my first cruise and had been recommended by friends to travel with TUI as it's more relaxed. The ship operates a cashless system. You are given a card which is linked to your bank account. Be warned, as soon as you get on the ship you are being harassed in to photographs, massages, the payable restaurants etc. This was very annoying and not appreciated the moment you get on the ship. ...

We went in April and with Spring being the windiest season of the year, I knew I needed to strap myself in for a bumpy ride. NOT what I was expecting. Embarkation: Really easy and stress-free. Check in at the airport was fine ( I still dont understand why they dont just give us those Priority Cruise tags once we've landed, but anywho ) and we were on our way. There were a few long-ish ...

Why are singles penalised on cruise ships?

Review for Marella Celebration to Mediterranean

User Avatar

To be positive. Single cabin very clean. Medium sized bed. It also seemed to be good value for money for a single cabin (prior to boarding). No tips. Good and friendly cabin "porters". Negatives. Cabin decor dismal. Small. TV poor. Low deck. Bad noise and awful vibration from the engines; especially in port. This vibration affected the whole ship but because these single cabins are lower in the ...
