Not worth the money.
"We chose the ship as this was a first cruise for three women and the reviews were good. It was like a floating residential home with a hint of urine. The food ranged from very poor to middling, the drinks were..."Read More

Review for Aegean Odyssey to Mediterranean

What a disastrous cruise experience. It is difficult to know where to start with this review. We always try hard to give a balanced and factual review. On this occasion there is not much we can say which is positive. The Aegean Odyssey is an old ship (nearing its 50th year). Originally built as a ferry it has been refitted as a small passenger ship. To be fair it not in bad shape for a ...

This is our third time on the Aegean Odyssey. It will be our last time on the Aegean Odyssey. The ship suffered engine problems on the previous cruise and they were forced to issue a Full refund to all passengers. The company has confirmed that our ship suffered a similar fate and the company made a decision to put a priority on getting the ship to Athens. That meant dropping ports, ...

Although embarkation went smoothly the rest of the cruise was dire. We were told the ship had been undergoing renovations in the month before, but there were problems throughout the ship. The cabins were clean but dated; and there were lots of people having problems with the electrics and air conditioning. Although the room stewards were helpful some of the reception staff were incompetent and ...

We chose a "cruise and stay" package from TUI/Marella/Thomson as we hadn't visited any of the ports (Gibraltar, Cadiz, Portimao, Lisbon and Porto) apart from Malaga itself, and because we fancied a week on the Costa Del Sol. The destination ports were absolutely brilliant and we couldn't have asked for more in 7 days. The staff, almost without exception, were attentive, courteous and friendly. ...

Before I start the review just want to say we are a couple in our mid-20s and recognise that our review may not be reflective of every bodies experiences!! The ship The ship is very old and dated. This has been stated in previous reviews so possibly our fault for not researching better. This means there’s not a proper mini fridge in your room, the boat is REALLY shaky (we only have ...

We have been on Marella Spirit/cruise called Spirit of Iberia/TUI 1-8 July Oh well, where to start. This is not my first cruise but first European one... The boat is extremely old.. No refurbishment works being done at all. I booked this cruise trip online on TUI website, called Spirit of Iberia on Marella Spirit boat. There was an option to choose Full board or All inclusive package. Me and ...

My first time in a Thomson/Marella cruise: Marella Spirit.... I Can’t fault the cruise check-in process we were on the ship within 15 minutes of arriving at the port!! The ship.....for her age to be honest she’s ok!! Yes she’s a bit dated and there are definitely signs of neglect over the years that she’s been at Thomson/Marella cruises but reading some of the reviews I was dubious and ...

I choose this cruise because I had been on two Thomson ships before it became Tui. The expieriance before was amazing. This time it was awful!!! Firstly, there was no sail away party which before was fabulous and we looked so forward to it again. After our first night in our inside cabin, which we had had inside before, this time two mattresses put together and they separated during the night ...

We have done over 20 Thomson cruises and although most of the ship particularly the cabins are tired we have always enjoyed the entertainment and cruise. This one was shocking....the entertainment team spent more time on deck 6 smoking than they did entertaining, they put on a deck party that lasted 35minutes where they just all danced together and did not involve any of the passengers and when ...
