Not up to previous experience on same ship
"Chose this 6 weeks before going seemed a very good offer and based on what we paid it was value for money. but would have felt differently if had paid original costs .This is our 4th time on this ship and it is not..."Read More

Our first time on a cruise and having travelled with Tui previously we thought we were in safe hands. Some very good experiences onboard; the staff were excellent, the Tui excursions were well organised and guides very good. However the entertainment wasn’t for us, very Hi De Hi, they tried hard but lacked any sophistication. The food was plentiful though more canteen than cuisine. The ship was ...

Like another reviewer on Discovery 2. We have been cruising with Thomson/Tui for many years and agree with everything they have said. Celebration was our favourite ship until Discovery came and then we saw how tired Celebration looked. Our first cruise on Discovery was really good ;we were really impressed so we booked another. There were 2 years between the cruises. We were shocked how tired it ...

Chose this cruise because many of the places we hadn't visited before and also the ship itself, been on Spirit 4 times before and it never disappointed we liked the layout of the ship the crew and all the staff were top rank always pleasant and helpful which to us was the most important criteria for a good cruise. Now from here we go downhill Marella as it's now called seem to be trying to cheapen ...

Travelled on this ship approx 8 years ago, it was brilliant, but now the food was poor, cold, and boring, the shows were terrible, I've never heard such screeching, from the singers, had to leave it was that bad. (The English comedien was really good). The cabins were shabby to say the least, and the towels were grey and thread bare. Luckily this ship is going out of service this year, but whoever ...

As a regular cruiser with thomson now marella cruises, we decide to try the oldest vessel in the fleet, the ship itself is well worn but that is expected, The noise of the vessel is bearable and the permanent shaking whilst either sitting relaxed or in one of the bars is all part of sailing with an old ship. But my wife's and I main concern aswel as other passengers was the most important thing ...

The ship itself is old and tired but everyone knows this in advance with a bit of research. What is harder to find out is that the ship is actually leased by Marella from a Greek company (Celestyal Cruises). Consequently the Captain and senior officers are Greek, which is perfectly fine. The problem is that they are in charge of the food and drinks too and the food is simply no where near as ...

This was my first cruise and had been recommended by friends to travel with TUI as it's more relaxed. The ship operates a cashless system. You are given a card which is linked to your bank account. Be warned, as soon as you get on the ship you are being harassed in to photographs, massages, the payable restaurants etc. This was very annoying and not appreciated the moment you get on the ship. ...

We chose the Celebration for the Gibraltar visit, because it was the place we wanted to visit most, spending around 10 hours in port, most of the port visits were pretty good, although the visit to Portimãoi was rather pointless, not much to see or do, activities for younger passengers were limited, my son was 15 at the time, all the pools at close at 6pm leaving nothing to do at all for ...

We chose this cruise to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary and booked the blessing at sea package and were not disappointed with everything that was included in it. Dinner with Captain John, his wife, one of his daughters and our two friends was excellent and highly entertaining. The renewal of our vows ceremony the following afternoon complete with photography/video session (before and ...
