I found a great deal online and want to try the cruise so I booked this one. I’m from Bangkok and live in the States for a year so this is the chance! The food, really awesome. Almost everything was super delicious! Love them so much, especially Seafood!!!!!! I got the excursion at Atlantis, it was amazing! All the slides and water rides. So much fun! Another excursion is stingray cay, love the sting rays! We learnt about sting rays and gotta touch them gently, feed them as well! The water was so clear, a bit cold but it’s okay. It’s not deep as well about 4-5 ft. Lifejacket for kids are provided plus snorkeling gear, would be better to bring your own too in my opinion. They did not fit me. Lastly, I love Champaign, Wine, Activities, Foods, and the Services/Activities here so much. I dont want to leave the ship!! Can’t wait to be back!! Read Less

For my first cruise (a girls weekend - 2 of us), I chose Majesty because of the affordable price and Port Canaveral's proximity to my home (under 2 hours). I was surprised to see her in such good condition for being the oldest in the RCI fleet. There were occasional wafts of foul odors around the elevator banks but they never lingered for too long. Speaking of the elevators, this was a booze cruise. Perhaps it was the weekend I chose but it was clearly dominated by 20-somethings ready to party, as evidenced by the neon pink thong underwear found outside the elevators the morning of day 2. The cabin was very small but served its purpose on such a short cruise. It was clean with no bad odors and nothing was broken or not functioning. Noise from neighbors wasn't a problem, nor was the room near any elevators, stairs, or mechanical or staff areas. However, it was not directly under the Centrum stage but close enough to hear significant noise when there was a crowd of people gathered there. The Ultimate Bean Bag toss made for an extremely noisy afternoon. Luckily, nothing major happens there at night while people are sleeping. Our cabin steward, Carlos, was attentive and kept our room tidy. We were told by our waiter and assistant (Ashton and Paolo) that the MDR had a new menu. Nothing spectacular but I went home 4 lbs heavier so I definitely didn't starve. I received a Mojito that was not quite drinkable so I left it at the table. The next night, Ashton instantly brought me a new Mojito to make up for it. Breakfast eggs at the Windjammer were always soggy and inedible. I didn't watch any of the shows but karaoke was great, as was the Latin band in Boleros. Service at the pool bars was abysmal but service at the casino bar was far better. Nassau was beautiful but I felt very uncomfortable at the Straw Market. I thought it would be fun but the amount of pressure by the vendors was just too much. We didn't do any excursions in Nassau but we did go to Atlantis to roam around. The waves were too high for us to tender over to Cococay so we had a sea day. Too bad the new dock isn't finished yet. Embarkation and debarkation were fairly efficient. Read Less

Food and service with nothing special even during gala night. Shows very poor and many of them are made by the guests. The disembarkation process was not well explained: stay with luggage ou send them. If you not stay with your luggage you will need to remain on board 2 h more. Cause this I miss an meeting. Every information required was answer with a ugly face. At the cassino, restaurant, etc. The main restaurant require a specific table during dinner. Although I make a reservation for table for 2, that was not available. During breakfast and lunch the guests were told by crew to seat in a very small area, one over another. I don't know why!. I chose Royal Caribbean for 5 reasons: 1. Affordably 2. Short trips for busy people 3. Royal's loyalty Rewards (Crown & Anchor Society and Casino Royal perks) 4. Great customer service. 5. Though huge, this ship is small enough for me to get my mother around w/out exhausting her. In July my mother and I boarded the MOS (Majesty of The Seas) for our 6th time. Shortly before sailing a medical issue required mom to be transported to a hospital by ambulance. Since I had trip cancellation ins. through my credit card company and not the cruise line, Royal ended up giving us $400 in vouchers for our next cruise. We immediately rebooked TWICE when she was well again. I took my mother on the MOS (Majesty of The Seas) . We went again Aug. 12th 12017. My mother won a little over $5,000.00 in the Casino and Royal upgraded us to a large room and send little gifts to us each day...still making up for her illness the prior sailing. Her illness had nothing to do with Royal and they did not have to do this for us...but they did and we are grateful. We went again August 25th 2017 and had a wonderful time. I'm not the biggest fan of Nassau, so our trip into town was quick (6-7 sailings to this port). As always, our favorite port is Coco Cay where we feed the fish in the ocean, float on the buoyant, teal salt water and let our troubles wash away. Since the MOS moved karaoke night out of the Bolero and into the Centrum, the attendance and participants are now greater and it's a blast to watch. From line dancing classes to comedy shows to sushi making classes, the MOS has it all. We often skip dinner in the formal dining room in favor of the ease of the Windjammer. Regardless of fine dining or buffet, service staff are always great and attentive and we are always well-cared for on the MOS. Read Less

The group planner chose this cruise but, I think that it was good. We had a great time with extended family and friends. Would love to do it again, maybe a few days longer, if the price is attractive. The food was acceptance, especially at diner in the dining room. It was served hot, and very flavorful. The pizza at the pizza bar was poorly prepared and served. Because they were servicing a large group of people, once the pizza was made, they just staked each pie on top of each other, which caused it to be soggy and slices stick to each other. The drinks gave out often, and a few times there was no syrup in the fountains, you where drinking diluted drink. Other then that I was completely please with our trip. Oh, I wish that we were able to spend more time at the ports that we visited, it would have made the trip more enjoyable. Read Less

For my first time cruise, Royal Caribbean and the Majesty set a very high bar. My sisters and i were blown away with the service, meals and different excursion opportunities we had while on board. The crew goes above and beyond to ensure that the service you're receiving is the top of the line: whether it be checking in for embarking or checking in for dinner. If we had any questions, we knew they were welcomed and would be happily answered. My personal favorite was all the various activities that you could take part with while on board. They had the typical bingo and casino games but they also included different shopping promos, tips when shopping on shore and also movies over the pool. Any vacation that lets me enjoy the latest blockbuster film, laying out in the sunshine while eating a free ice cream is a vacation I would be happy to return to, Read Less

I chose this cruise because it was an affordable, quick getaway as a solo traveler. Embarkation and disembarkation were swift and uneventful. Even at embarkation those folks who weren't gold and up members didn't have a very long line at all. This was around 11:30am. The ship is obviously an older, well-worn ship. I had read that it underwent a recent renovation, and in spots throughout the ship this was apparent. Other spots looked like they were passed over in this renovation (lol). Having said that, it being a long weekend cruise at budget rates, can you really complain? My cabin was a standard oceanview cabin. Nothing special; no complaints. Service was just as good as past cruises. Cabin was very clean. I was in 3046 and didn't experience almost any noise. I only dined in the dining room on the last evening and ended up being served by the assistant waiter (he was great!). I sat for quite a long time before the assistant waiter seemingly realized I was being overlooked. My waiter never acknowledged me until I got up to leave, then gave me this broad smile. ? He served the couple seated right next to me efficiently and professionally and never looked at me while he was doing this. That is my only negative feedback on any crew on this ship, and who knows.. maybe I threw everyone off by dining in the buffet on the first two nights..? Speaking of the buffet, the waitstaff in the buffet were great! The food choices were a little bit limited but tasty - so no complaints; and the desserts were sumptuous! I didn't go to any shows or participate in activities. I tired myself out during the days. :) The 2 ports were great: Nassau and Cococay. First-Cococay: AWESOME!! Beautiful, fully developed with a yummy meal that begins at 11:30, bar, super great snorkeling that I did on my own,.. can't say enough great things and want to go back! Second- Nassau: I did the Pearl Island excursion. Pearl Island is definitely still a work in progress but for now it's a great, quiet getaway that few people go to. There were 5 ships in port and only about 25 of us TOTAL on this island. If you like a quiet getaway with a sweet little beach, a bar, good food (food was not terrible as I have read in other reviews), and extremely warm people, do this excursion. It was actually overcast and a little rainy on this day and it was still a great relaxing excursion. I would recommend this ship specifically for quick, cheap getaways but would tell new cruisers that some of the newer, more expensive routes may offer nicer ships. Read Less

We just got back from our trip and as a first timer on Royal Caribbean, I was really hoping to be impressed by the ship, as I had heard good things about RCI. Pros- Staff was lovely. They went over and beyond and always helpful. Crepes were served on the last night and were delicious. Coco Cay island was awesome! I loved that lunch was included and the beach were perfect. Free ice cream by the pool during certain times of the day. Cons- The food seemed very "watered down". It wasn't bad but I wasn't overly impressed. This was a surprise as I had remembered Carnival to have really good food when I cruised years ago. Starlight dining was better but when I wanted a Filet Mignon and an espresso after dinner, there was an upcharge of $14.95 for steak and I think $7 for coffee. I felt that was ridiculous. Soda is an additional "package" which I hadn't realized so I'll be prepared for that next time. I felt that was silly too. The shows. God the shows. Unless you absolutely love 70's music, don't bother with the farewell show. There wasn't much entertainment to pick from and none of it impressed me. They did have karaoke so if you like that, do that instead of any other shows. Also, the pool had no slide for adults which surprised me. Next time, if there is one, I'll be checking out bigger ships. Read Less

Just returned from my cruise with 21 other senior singles. We formed our own group and had lots of fun, but I was really surprised and appalled at the quality of the food. My first experience with the poor food was after boarding and going up to the Windjammer Cafe on Deck 11. It was undertstandably very crowded. Looked around and saw dried out meat dishes and cut up fruit that were obviously left-overs from the previous sailing. On two nights in the Moonlight Dining Room on the 3rd level, I had very good beef dishes which I thoroughly enjoyed The other nights had very poor meat selections and truly dreadful desserts. They were sponge-like creations which had the consistency and look of actual kitchen sponges! Not that I've ever eaten my kitchen sponges, but they must taste like the samples I had on the Majesty. I didn't even eat the main dinners two nights, they were that bad! That is not like me, I enjoy my food. I knew the ship was about 22 years old, so didn't expect the latest and greatest innovations and felt the staterooms were adequate but dated looking. My cabin was on the 4th level, #4510, which is in the forward section. It was right above the anchor storage and when we pulled into a port in the early morning hours, the sound of the chains clanking, woke me. Think of Mr. Marley dragging his chains in Dickens "A Christmas Carol."  Since I had the cabin to myself, felt it was enough space for me and all my belongings. There were plenty of drawers, closet space and wooden hangers. The bathroom (or head) was small but fine for one person, with a small shower that was comfortable. I had read that a woman couldn't shave her legs in the shower, but didn't get that feeling. I had also read a comment that the shower water was incredibly hot, but if you first turn the center knob on, the temperature adjustment was on the right side of the knob area. It didn't lower the temperature much, but I am happy with a fairly hot shower. The bed was quite firm for my taste but I got used to it after the first night, the pillows were fine and it was set up with the two twin beds together making a king size bed placed under the window. I have previously sailed from the Owners Suite on down to an interior cabin, and found the full window in this cabin just fine. Some of the evening entertainment in A Chorus Line Theater was shown twice in the evening, so seating was easier. I think one or two nights, the show was only at 8 pm, which made it quite crowded. I really enjoyed the entertainment, especially the comedian, David Orion. I saw two of his shows and laughed till I cried (well, nearly). I was very disappointed with the performer in Schooner's Piano Bar. He sang and played off-key much of the time. Overall, I enjoyed the cruise but honestly think I will go back to sailing with Norwegian Cruise Lines in the future. Since I've been home, I heard other negative comments on the food and that was referring to the Allure of the Seas. The man said on a scale of 1-10, he would give the Allure a 2! So consider this if you are thinking of a Royal Caribbean ship. Read Less

This cruise was a blast. I sailed with a friend who had only been on one cruise 20 years ago and was hesitant to go on another cruise. Both of us really enjoyed this trip. The ship, while old is well maintained and the crew does an excellent job keeping the ship clean. The Majesty has many lounges and a variety of activites for all passengers. The food in the dining room was adequate, and we had ordered Kosher food which the dining room staff went out of their way to make sure we received and that we were happy with the food selections. The food in the Windjammer was very good with an adequate selection of items to choose from. We ordered alot of vodka based drinks which for the most part were good, and on this trip I did not find the drinks to be so expensive compared to other cruises that I have been on in the past. The entertainmnt was enjoyable and included a funny comedian, a juggler named Adam who was excellent, and a last night production called Boggie Wonderland which was based on disco era songs and very well done. The Karaoke singing was fun and my friend truly enjoyed this activity. He has a Karaoke machine in his house so you can only imagine that he was in heaven when he saw Karaoke. He sang everynight but his best performance was Elton John's "Rocket Man". In Nassau we walked over to Atlantis to see the Dig or Aquarium, and on CoCo Cay we rented a jet ski which was fun. This is basically a good cruise to get away for a short period of time and Royal Caribbean provides a good product for the money. I will be going on this ship and other ships in the future.   Read Less

Being a single woman on this cruise it was very difficult to met people as they were mostly In couples. Husband and wife getting away from the kids. Mostly USA citizens and The rest from Mexico/ South America. This ship I grew to like but it is definitely 3 star service Compared with the Independence of the Seas which I had been on the previous week. Nevertheless I grew To like Majesty and Captain Dustin was a true professional With his indepth tannoy messages, I really enjoyed. I had to complain about my cabin 2603. It was so noisey. Power shower noises or noise electric flush toilets from Adjoining cabins and above was a nuisance and Was constant. My toilet flooded as well for no Apparent reason but the customer service seemed To be aware of these issues. But i just had to get on With it. It was one of the most spectacular ports to leave from. Some amazing views of South Beach. Empty plates on the table in the WINDJAMER were not cleared From the tables and they started piling up. We took the three night cruise from Miami. We were a party of 40 somethings. A married couple and two single guys. Embarkation - Embarkation was quick and easy. In this review category, Royal Carribbean was tops. On Board ship - the entertainment was mediocre at best. The theatre was small and there was never enough room. - the Piano bar was lively. However, the piano player was both rascist and highly unprofessional. His name was Anthony and he was from Australia. He was constantly drunk and beligerant to the audience. In front of me (I am Asian), he made rascist characterizations of Asians. When I complained to the front desk, nothing was done at all. To me, this was highly foolish on the part of the cruise line as it now has alienated me from the cruise line and my perception of their lack of professionalism. - the food was ok. Nothing spectacular. Unlike Carnival, the steak and lobster was extra. Also, everything was only cooked to medium. If you wanted medium rare, that was impossible. The breakfast was gross. The one time I ate in the Windjammer cafe, I got food poisoning. -constant nickel and diming for everything. The cruise line was more interested in pushing pictures than service. - The cabins were tiny and were hard to move around. They are literally half the size of the cabins on Carnival, which is on the same itinerary. Go with Carnival on this itinerary. Disembarkation - quick and easy Read Less

Majasty may be an oldie but definetly a goodie. This was my second time on Majesty of the Seas. She is a great ship with lots to offer for a short weekend cruise. I am well traveled. Been on many cruises on Carnival,Celebrity,Norwegian and Royal. Royal Caribbean has always been my favortie crusie line. THE SHIP The ship itself is 20 years old and she may look old on the outside, she's pretty well kept on the inside. Plenty of venues to hangout and grab a drink. My favorite spot on every RC ship in the Schooner Bar. Paul our Bar tender was amazing. Always remembred our drinks, We always went to him. There aren't many dining venues on Majesty compared to other ships. Just the Windjammer and the MDR. There's also a Comapss Deli which has pretty good Soups and Sandwichs. Theres a Johnny Rockets which is not my favorite, and Sorrentos which is good for a late night pizza run. OUR ROOM We had a superior ocean room on deck. Our cabin was perfect. Great size compaired to other cabins on this ship. Last time I was on the ship I had a Junior Suite which isn't really worth the extra money. Balconies don't even look down on the water thats why I just stayed with the SO cabin this time. COCO CAY I love Coco Cay. One of my favorite private ports next to Labadee. Great day to just lay on the beach and relax. NASSAU I've been to Nassau several times so I really don't do any tours. There's a restaurant called "The Poop Deck" near atlantis that me and my friends goto. I would highly recommend getting some lunch here. The Lobster tail in amazing and the conch fritters are good too. Majesty was a great cruise. I prefer her over Carnival or NCL. We're already booked to go on this cruise again next year. Same cabin. Hopefully we'll have the same experience. I've never had a bad cruise with Royal Caribbean and I hope to never have one. Read Less

I've sailed on the Majesty of the Seas years ago when it was a "new ship", so I wasn't sure how pleased I would be with the ship since I've sailed so many other new ones since then. I really underestimated the refurbishments. The overall condition of the ship and the public areas (bars, lounges, clubs, restrooms, etc) were just as nice as the newer ships. The interior room was very basic but clean and in good condition. There were issues with the shower not draining properly but we always got prompt response from maintenance. Although this was a sold-out ship, embarkment was not congested at all when we boarded at 11:30. We went straight to the Wind Jammer for lunch which was well stocked with various options. The water in Coco Cay is beautiful and I was surrounded by a school of bellow and black tropical fish! The birds, were very aggressive with swooping down and taking food from peoples plates. That's a little scary but there's not much the RCI can do about that. I would like them to have the umbrella's already assembled in the sand so that we don't have to sweat in the sun trying to dig a hole for the pole. That was frustrating and folks were really struggling. Some umbrellas flew away. The Coco Cay shopping vendors had some nice looking items however they seemed a bit expensive and not negotiable since they work for RCI. We didn't do much in Nassau other than the straw area and shops in the immediate area of the ship. The knock-off designer stuff at the straw market was the same as you could get in the states. They were very negotiable in Nassau though. The dinner in the dining room each night was okay. I'm just glad that the dining staff are always happy to offer you another dish if you are not pleased...and even if you are pleased :). The Boogie Wonderland talent (the 2 female leads in particular) was more like high school performers as another reviewer said. Nonetheless, it was a nice Farewell. The Battle of the Sexes Quest game show was "OFF THE CHAIN"! I see why people were scurring to the Spectrum for a seat. I will always make my way for this in the future. Unfortunately, we missed the commedian and everyone raved about him! We were celebrating my friend's birthday who was a first-time cruiser. The ship gave her a small gift and sang happy birthday to her. She was very impressed and is already looking forward to her next one! Read Less

Background: Both early 30's single friends that have cruised (her) 4 times in 4 years; (him) 6 times in 4 years [5 times w/ RCCL]. Occasion: Her 32nd b-day and her graduating Excelerated Nursing School. Fly-In: BWI (Baltimore MD) to MIA (Miami); left house at 0415 and were wheels up at 0600. Security and the airport in general went smooth, although her backpack was selected to be swabbed for explosives (took an extra 3 minutes) but it was a great story to tell people on the ship. Arrival at MIA: flawless considering we did not have checked bags. Taxi ride to cruise port stopped at Walgreens and bought sunscreen. Miami Cruise Terminal: Thanks to Cruise Critic posters we had learned of a little cafe outside across the street from the NCL terminal that was open for breakfast it was excellent and was well air-conditioned (thank god) Getting on the Ship: At approx. 1030 we made our way to the RCCL cruise terminal and breezed thru the outer layers of security, everyone was smiles and welcome which is what I like about RCCL. Final security area is where they had stopped everyone to be boarded as the ship was not ready yet at all. We were maybe 75th in line and waited maybe 20 minutes before they started the metal-detectors. It would not be a cruise unless I was singled out to be wanded which was painless (less than 2 minutes). Got to the line to check-in with one person in front of us then showtime for cards and waited another 5 minutes and presto we were home again. (We sailed the Monarch in 08' which is the Majesty's twin so everything was familiar even the deck our cabin was on was the same) Cabin: 119 sq. ft., what else can you say everything laid out perfect. Plus her and I have brought bunking in the same room to an art form we've done it so much. I decorated the room with streamers and different things I picked up at the Dollar Store (thanks Cruise Critic)to celebrate her accomplishments as stated above. Muster Drill: seamless and we did not have to bring Life Jackets (yeah!!) Pool: functional and not crowded Jacuzzis: see pool above Food: the same quality and variety we've always gotten, excellent Entertainment: Sorry but shows are not our thing but the one we did see was pretty good. Shopping Onboard: not our thing, did that the first 2 cruises Drinks: Our $260 sea card bill was all Adult beverages, very good (all I gotta say is Lava Flow and CoCo Loco) Ports: We've done these ports before (except Nassau) so we did not ant to do exscursions or anything of the sort but we did want to just hang-out which we did. NASSAU: it was hot but pretty, suggestion spend the money to go to Paradise Island there will be more to do. CoCo Cay Bahamas: RCCL private island is amazing and its mostly all inclusive with exception of adult drinks and exscursions......the water was so clear and almost air temperature....awesome. Key West: Very hot and humid but what do expect its FL in August. On Duvall street stop by IRISH KEVIN'S its a great place to cool off, get a drink and sing along with the acoustic guitar guy Disembark: RCCL has outdone themselves with the new walk-off program. From cabin to taxi was no more than 20 minutes and so stress free I couldn't believe it had gone so smooth. MIA to BWI: 4 hours in MIA airport waiting for scheduled flight never again....flight home 20 mph winds landing little scary but not as bad as Jan 08' with 25 mile winds while landing. Overall: Good to Excellent vacation........8.25 out of a possible 10 What would of made it a 10: weather a little better and more to do in NASSAU downtown. Read Less

I figure its best to begin by describing myself and my lovely wife first! We are both "punk rockers", not like the kind you have seen on wife swap, we don't have coffin couches and stripper poles in our house. My wife's company sends top performing managers on a trip once a year. Her store is always one of the best in the country so we always are able to go on these trips. This years trip was a cruise, we had never been on a cruise never wanted to be on a cruise, and never thought we would be on a cruise. Needless to say we arrived in Miami with some semi pre-conceived notions of what to expect or not to expect on the ship. Our only form of reference was Titanic. So here we go, we arrived in Miami, we got on a coach bus, headed for the port. We arrived at the port, and went through what seemed like 800 check points, we were then told that, the trip was no longer all inclusive, (that's the company's fault not the cruise ships)we were under the assumption that all the food, drinks, and booze were paid for (they asked us if we wanted the alcohol package). We went through 2 more checkpoints, got our picture taken once together, and then once by ourselves. We then went through 1 more checkpoint! At this point I was ready to just hang out in Miami but we pushed on, we got on the boat, and were greeted by yet another photographer! We blew past him this time learned our lesson from the last time, we proceeded to our room, we looked at pictures online, and floor plans of the room as well, they were nothing like the pictures, or the floor plans! It worked out to our benefit though because we kept asking all the other people from her company if they had couches too. The rooms looked like a old RV bedroom with a tiny TV on the wall, we noticed a small paper on the bed, that had the days activities for the boat, along with pictures of the important staff members. We decided based on his picture that were going to stay as far away as we could from the cruise director. Even his picture looked like he had way too much energy and he need a chill pill! We went up to the pool, there was 8 million (literally) people sitting poolside, so we just walked around, we found a lounge on the 14th floor of the poop deck, we went up there and hung out for a bit. We bought our first drinks for only 9.95 each! (this is getting to be an expensive trip already) Her company had a meet and greet a few hours after we got on the boat, we went to that and took full advantage of the free drinks while we could. After the meet and greet, we went to the Casino, I won a grand playing blackjack (might cover our bar tab now). We went to some Latin bar, and then back to the pool at 4am, we went swimming and found out the pool was salt water. not a big deal just a shock! We ported in the Nassau Bahamas, the next morning, we stumbled off the boat, at around 9am, and jumped in a taxi, we went to a pirate museum and then went to a beach with all you could drink drinks for 20 bucks! We also missed the boat, we went poolside, and hung out with people we knew! Got dressed up fancy for dinner went to the dinning room, avoided what seemed like thousands of photographers, got into our table sat with strangers, it was awesome, my wife is a vegetarian, she ate a house salad and some mashed potatoes! that's all they had on the menu for her! We meet up with friends started drinking All the sudden it was 3:30am. Next day was Co Co Cay, this was weak it was like Disney built a themed island and then charged crazy money for everything! We hung out on the beach for a few hours on Co Co Cay, went to the "barbeque" got cold food, threw it away and took the ferry back to the boat, and ordered room service! We went to the pool, wound up going to karaoke we both sang, we figured out how to get stronger drinks! We went to the "dance club" made fun of people for a while, went back to the room and crashed at 4am! Key West, we got up at 8, went and walked around key west for a bit, found a Irish pub, got smashed, went back on the boat, ate dinner, went to the comedy and magic show, left after 10 min. wasn't comedy or magic, it was terrible. Went back to the casino wife won 300 playing slots, I won another 400 playing blackjack! Al in all we wound up having fun, at first we were worried about the rooms but we were never in them! I think the fact that her company had 70% of the boat taken up added to the fun, because most of the store managers are cool! We would do it again! Read Less
