We chose this cruise because it was a good deal for the itinerary. Key West is one of our favorite ports and we had never been to Cuba. We knew the ship was older and we did see signs of wear. The cabin was small but we did not spend much time in it. We food was good. We ate in the dining room whenever we could. It was quieter than the Windjammer. We had the early seating in the dining room. Our waiter and assistant waitress were attentive. We arrived in Fort Lauderdale the day before the cruise so we were able to arrive at the port close to 11 a.m. Embarking was fast. We were in the Windjammer before noon. The first day was at sea. We took part in trivia and other daytime activities. There were enough activities to keep us busy all day. We did go to the shows every evening. They included a comedian, juggler, and the on board troupe. The crew members and staff we interacted with where all helpful and friendly. We explored Key West on our own. It is a very walk-able port. In Havanna, we booked a private six hour excursion. Because we were the only two people in the car, we were able to personalize the tour to include what we wanted to see. The second day we did a free walking food tour. Both excursions were very interesting and allowed us a good insight into the lives of the Cuban people. Disembarking was very easy and went fairly quickly. Read Less

A group of us wanted to experience Cuba and found a good value on the Majesty of the Seas. We had no trouble getting on the ship. We arrived around 1pm, after parking at the very convenient Park and Go and taking the shuttle over. It only took about 30 minutes to get on board once we were dropped off. All meals, from the dining to the Windjammer buffets were varied and enjoyable. Servers were friendly and helpful. We asked for a larger table to accommodate 2 additional friends and the manager was very helpful and made it happen. The entertainment was enjoyable. While not a huge variety, the shopping was okay. Our cabin attendant on Deck 2 was fantastic, always smiling and friendly - very personable. While the ship is older and smaller, it fit our needs fine and was easy to navigate. We just enjoyed the getaway with good friends and good service! We took the bus tour in Cuba and it was very informative. It didn't last the full 6 hours, but we had the chance to walk the market and shop on the way back to the ship. The market was repetitive with items sold and the booth owners really push their items, but you get used to it as you walk through. We stopped at a bar/restaurant on the way back to the ship and enjoyed a cold Cuban beer. In Cozumel, we took a taxi into town for $16 for the group and walked back. It was quite a walk, but we had a lovely view along the water, and it gave us a chance to walk off some the food we had eaten on the ship! There is a good variety of shopping there if you are into that, and cheap deals on beer and free shots of tequila. All in all, a great cruise! Read Less

We are Diamond members on RCCL and have been on the Majesty four times. Time has taken it's toll as the ship "celebrated" it's 27th birthday during our cruise. Our inside cabin was tiny but it's been a long time since we had an inside cabin. I just know insides on the larger ships are noticeably larger. We loved the food for dinner and our wait staff..the real highlight of the ship. Food in the Windjammer was up and down. The burgers, hot dogs, scrambled eggs and sausages were luke warm at best. The seats on the sides in the theater were worn and not comfortable and the drink holders did not accommodate the glasses..so you had to hold your drink the entire time. The hallways and public areas need some serious renovation. The captain even said the Majesty (and the Empress) might have been sold if it wasn't for their ability to fit into the Cuban ports. This was our last cruise on the Majesty. Read Less

We chose this ship because of the itinerary; going to Cuba. However, after we booked, RCCL shortened the time in Havana--disappointing. This is an old and tired looking ship. Will not cruise on her again, regardless of itinerary. The elevators are few and, oddly, when you press the call button, only one side responds. One would need to cross over to press the button on the other side. Boarding and disembarking was extremely tedious. The staff in the Windjammer were especially nice and attentive. We did not dine in the main dining room because only the late seating was available; 8:00 p.m. is way too late for us to eat (reflux problem.) The excursions in Havana were excellent if, a bit pricey. The staff, overall, were very good. The wake up call feature did not work on the phone in our room. Fortunately, we have an app on our laptop. Read Less

Cuba was on my bucket list so decided to take this cruise. We had a great time. The ship is in good shape, the room was small but we did not spend much time in it. Small sofa was beautiful, not quite as much storage as larger ships but adequate. Our tour "The Best of Havana", was amazing. We got to see so much in the 7 hour tour. Hemingway's house was great to see, the cemetery was very interesting, and all the old cars were fun to look at. We had a wonderful lobster lunch right on the water at Mr. Crab. Our tour guide was amazing and answered all kinds of questions we had about Cuba and the local life in Havana. We had bad weather on the way to Costa Maya and couldn't dock so the captain made a decision to go on to Cozumel, that was fantastic as we had great weather to spend sunning on board. The food was very good, the staff in the dining room was A No. 1. Our cabin attendant made us towel animals and kept the room in tip top shape. This is an older ship that I cruised in 1998, but it hasn't lost it's luster, we truly enjoyed our five days on the ship. Entertainment was good, the comedian was awesome, the ventriloquist was excellent and the singers and dancers put on a good show. Read Less

Pros- Majesty has the best service in the fleet! Also, food was excellent in the dining room. Entertainment was better than expected. We were impressed by the comedians. We are Diamond members and enjoyed the happy hour in the Viking lounge as well as the option to continue to enjoy complimentary drinks while early dining. We also appreciated the outstanding enrichment lectures about Cuba. Cons- Majesty is a lovely lady in need of some cosmetic care in the cabins. Paint touch up and glue for the wallpaper would do wonders. Also, there seemed to be a chronic problem with the sewer. We noticed an odor in the bathroom and water kept coming up in the shower. Crew seemed to be working on this continually. Embarkation took much longer than we've ever experienced. We booked this cruise to see Havana and celebrate NewYears Eve. The celebration on board struck us as a moneymaker for RCCL as they sold tables to enjoy the festivities both inside and poolside. There were many empty tables poolside as I think others thought this was as tacky as we did and did not "reserve" any table. That really did not spoil our good time. We stopped at Key West before heading to Havana. Getting off ship in Havana was another long wait, but going through customs once off was swift. Havana is worth the effort!! We booked a private tour with Fer Tours and very very pleased with our experience. Once back in FLL, disembarking was swift and painless! Read Less

cruise to Cuba with two days and overnight stay. The onboard staff entertainment was okay. The headliners were great. Arrived early sat FLL port and getting on ship was easy. First port Nassau and did not get off the ship. The lounge chairs around ship were plentiful. Did not use the gym or spa but did tour and the steam room was very small. The food and service in the dining room was surprisingly excellent--some of the best we have had. The ocean view room was a good size and had a refrigerator and great storage space. The two days and night in port in Cuba were awesome. Hired Blexie for tour in old car convertibles for two days and guide Yinela which was the most educational and excellent tour. Did the Tropicana at night and it was energetic and entertaining. Cuba overnight is a must do. They are building more piers so go soon. Read Less

This was the second cruise this year to Cuba but we chose it because we like last minute cruises and while our first cruise was $1250 for seven nights this was $229 for five. A no brainer. The ship is among the oldest you can sail on but have to admit it does not look old (except for the cabins, see below). The crew was among the best we have sailed with. Many are long timers and they are proud of their ship. So what the ship lacks in amenities they make up for in spirit. The ship is relocating to cruise from Ft Lauderdale instead of Tampa. Our cruise had the worst of the Cuba itineraries. We felt bad for the people who booked this cruise not for the low price but because they wanted to see Cuba. A better cruise is one that spends overnight in Havana. Although they promote them as that, most stay until 1 or 2 am. But that is enough to get out and enjoy the nightlife. To see the Tropicana is a must see and do. It takes you back to the 1950's. Also there are two other interesting Cuba ports to see Santiago and Cienfuegos. So if booking a once in a lifetime trip to Cuba do not do one with only a single stop in Havana that leaves at 4 or 7 PM. Find another cruise. Also do not be fooled with threats by the cruiseline that you must be on a ship tour. Nobody cares if you just get off the ship and walk around, except if during the next five years the US treasury dept (yes its them not customs or immigration) audits you and asks you to prove that you did whatever you checked off on the form (we checked off 4 support for the cuban people) and we did take tours with local guides so we did meet the criteria. The food was very good with lobster tails served the last night. It always came out hot and its rare for us to have to blow on our soup to cool it but we were doing that for each bowl. The shows were very entertaining. The best part was unlike the Holland American cruise to Cuba which had 90% retirees (and few activities day or night) this cruise had a great diversity of people onboard (Young couples, old couples, Americans, Canadians, Europeans) This lead to having much to do on board (sexy man contests, belly flopping contests) by day and games until late in the evening. Highly recommend the ship as a first timer but if you have cruised any of the Oasis class ships this can be a real let down which is why there are many negative reviews despite being RCCL. Read Less

I have never been to Havana. I wanted short cruise out of Tampa with girl friends. We loved our waiter Vladyslav and his assistant waiter Muhammed. Food was great. We did The Chef's Table event one night and the food and wine was fantastic. The Chef and waiter were wonderful. We really enjoyed the entertainment. Entertainer Hopper from Las Vegas was great. We actually like jim so much we went back to his second show. We went down to the Schooner lounge to hear music at night. We loved Wayne Gilbert and went to see him 3 time and also Pedro. Also we went to the other lounge that starts with "B" and our server could not have been nicer. He introduced us the Joseph or Josua who told us about the Chef's Table event. We enjoyed the buffet for breakfast and the servers could not be more helpful and always had a smile for us. We did think the mixed drinks were kind of expensive though. The Ship was very nice and overall it was a great cruise!! Read Less

The Majesty of the Seas is the worst Royal Caribbean Cruise I have ever taken. I have been on many in the past and this cruise ship falls way short of Royal Caribbean's standards. The food and service was not up to cruises I have been on with Royal Caribbean in the past. The staff was like they were in a training mode. The bar service was very prompt and the bar areas was well maintained. Our tour guide was excellent and knew the history of Cuba and pointed out many interesting things about Cuba. which made the excursion more interesting. I would go to Cuba again but not on Majesty of the Seas. I know there are very few cruise ships going to Cuba so selections are limited but Royal Caribbean needs to improve the service and food selections on the Majesty of the Seas before I would take it again. I will continue to sail on Royal Caribbean because I like this cruise line. Read Less

+I had never been on a cruise before let alone out of the United States of America. I chose this exciting cruise because of a combined decision among family members. The ship is not even the biggest ship offered, yet is still really large! The state rooms were very clean and the staff members were lovely. Most of my meals were held at the Marketplace. The food had many options- some the same every day but definitely enough variety for me to enjoy the experience and not feel like I am eating the same thing every day. -There were two fires while I was on this ship. One was at 3am. This consisted of staff members and the captain over the loud speaker at 3 o clock in the morning. The way the staff handled the situation was great, however a fire in the incinerator at 3am is not always the best wake up call. The second fire had to do with the A/C units. I don't know how far the A/C outage occurred, but me and my floor did not have air conditioning for a night & half the next day. The last negative I have is that the bathroom toilet in my state room randomly did not have water flowing in it and would refuse to flush. This is gross and not acceptable for obvious reasons.
