I got this cruise playing MyVegas so only had to pay port fees. We found out 6 days before we sailed that we would not be going to Cuba. We were disappointed but we were also going on vacation so just adjusted our plans. We did have to fly to Fort Lauderdale which took 30 hours due to storms in Atlanta. Spent Sunday at a hotel. Left the hotel and in less than 1 hour we were on the ship. It is a smaller ship, it did seem like some people cancelled as it was not very busy. Our cabin was fine. Always clean and cute towel animals. Crew were always friendly and helpful. Saw crew members cleaning the halls and other areas also. Food was good, as were the drinks. Drinks were very strong which surprised me. Used to all inclusive at which are not strong at all. Stayed on board in Nassau, really enjoyed CocoCay. We did have a really good time on this ship. We are Diamond members on RCCL and have been on the Majesty four times. Time has taken it's toll as the ship "celebrated" it's 27th birthday during our cruise. Our inside cabin was tiny but it's been a long time since we had an inside cabin. I just know insides on the larger ships are noticeably larger. We loved the food for dinner and our wait staff..the real highlight of the ship. Food in the Windjammer was up and down. The burgers, hot dogs, scrambled eggs and sausages were luke warm at best. The seats on the sides in the theater were worn and not comfortable and the drink holders did not accommodate the glasses..so you had to hold your drink the entire time. The hallways and public areas need some serious renovation. The captain even said the Majesty (and the Empress) might have been sold if it wasn't for their ability to fit into the Cuban ports. This was our last cruise on the Majesty. Read Less

We sailed on the Majesty 4 years ago for a short weekend cruise and it was great. So we did it again this year when we found ourselves with a free weekend. It was just my husband and I on this trip and we really had an awesome time. We’ve sailed on 6 different Royal Caribbean ships from many different classes so we knew going into it that the Majesty wasn’t a flashy ship with a lot of innovative features but not once did that detract from how awesome the vacation was. The crew on this ship is on top of their game! Everyone we met was super friendly, attentive and just nice to talk to. They really went above and beyond to make sure everyone was cared for in a genuine way. Bar service was even better than on some of the bigger ships. It was quick to get a drink no matter what bar you went to or just laying by the pool. We didn’t have a tough time getting a chair by the pool any day we were there either. The main dining room was phenomenal! Food was fantastic. Service was great. Our waiters were quick to bring drinks and would bring you a couple different starters or entrees to try and share at the table. We certainly never left hungry or dissatisfied in any way! Our first stop was Havana. We were so excited to check our Cuba and Royal made it as easy as they could. Cuba was definitely a cool place to visit and interesting to learn about. Also cool to get some Cuban cigars to bring home too! Be careful where you buy them though. Make sure it’s a reputable store. We overheard someone at dinner saying they bought a box of cigars for $55 and when they opened it, it was full of garbage. Nassau was also a good stop. We have been a few times before so it was tougher to find something to do and not pay exorbitant prices for Atlantis. We did the Rainbow Reef Snorkel tour and it was amazing! It was short but efficient. They didn’t waste time with ‘mandatory’ shopping stops or sightseeing. They took us straight out to the reef. Got in the water and fed the fish to bring them closer. We were literally swimming in a school of fish which was so cool. If sightseeing Nassau is your thing, this isn’t for you. But if you just want to spend some time in the water and take a boat ride, this tour is perfect. Read Less

This was an anniversary cruise that encompassed Cuba as the highlight. The reason we chose this itinerary was for the opportunity to visit Havana, Cuba. Havana did not disappoint. We did a private "third party" tour with Blexie Tours. We actually had Blexie himself provide the tour with Lou as the driver. Blexie was great. He answered every question we had in regards to Cuba, politics, living conditions, etc. He was very thorough and forthcoming about all things Havana and Cuba. We had no problems with the visa or going through customs in Havana. The ship itself was fine. We have sailed on Majesty before (8 or 9 years ago). We have no problems with how she has held up over time. The food in the main dining room and the Windjammer was good, the spa services my wife used were great, the various trivia shows, karaoke, and disco were all entertaining. Embarkation was very quick (about 20 minutes) and we had access to our cabin at 1pm. Disembarkation took longer with more lines (almost an hour), but overall not a problem. If you want to see Cuba, I would recommend this ship and itinerary. Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the stops in Key West and Havana. We were somewhat leary because of the reviews that we had read over the last year. My wife and I have cruised previously and never had a bad experience. This one was the same. Yes an older ship but in good condition. It was clean, the food was good (main dining room) and the staff by inlarge were terrific. The boarding and getting off were easy and Tampa was a great port to sail out of. As far as excursions we did the Hemingway Tour in Key West, booked our own tour with Old Car Tours in Havana and an excursion in Cozumel. The walking tour guide in Key West was horrible as he wouldn’t shut up and the tour said Hemingway’s house and Sloppy Joes bar where Hemingway hung out. The guide took us on a 11/2 hour walk through some residential areas on the way to Hemingway’s. When we finally got to Sloppy Joes he said, there it is and left. Our car tour of Havana was excellent and 1/3 the price that the cruise ship charged. The excursion in Cozumel was ok. Read Less

Boarding in Tampa was quick and easy. They were basically waiting on people to check in at about 1:30 when we got there. The cruise director Patricio was fantastic. The live music, not so much. The DJ was great at the pool but then sometimes a band would play and it was essentially "island music" background music from a keyboard. They didn't really sing and certainly did not get the crowd into it. The band name was something like Umba. All of the activities like trivia, belly flop contest and karaoke were all awesome. Dinner in the dining room was fine. As usual, they are slow on bringing bar drinks and soda so its always better to fill before you go in. Especially slow for soda at breakfast. The couple times we ate in the Windjammer it was kinda cold. It would have been nice if there were more freestyle soda machines (there is one on 4 and one on 12 I think it was). The ports were fantastic. Key West was fun (we took the Hop On Hop Off trolley). It was Fantasy Fest!! Havana was amazing and quite an experience. It took about half hour to get through immigration. We exchanged $180 ($65 CUC was for our tour) and we did not have enough for souvenirs after lunch and giving various tips and buying a couple things in the City so we had to scramble at the port to exchange more money. My advice is to exchange well more than you think and then just exchange any you don't need back. There are plenty of tellers to exchange back when you are ready to go back on the ship. In Cozumel we did the semi sub reef explorer which was worth the money, and then we took a taxi to Money Bar to snorkel and hang out. This was a great trip. Yes the ship is old and yes the rooms are small, but you're on vacation! Read Less

Great cruise to Key West and Havana. But do not take cabin 4047 or any in that small hallway. Rolling carts overhead till 4AM every night. Yes we complained and no it did no good. Fair warning. We booked excursions directly with Old Cars Havana and had a great time for much less than the ships excursions. The entertainment was very good especially the comic. Food was what you expect on a Royal Caribbean, very good and the service was excellent with the exception of a failure to do anything about the noise in the cabin. It is obvious that many others have had this same problem and also obvious that Royal Caribbean has failed to correct said problem, so shame on them for that. One night one of the officers came to our cabin heard the racket and had the overhead crew put cardboard down which did make a difference. That was the only night we slept. Read Less

Like most people, we decided on this particular cruise for the opportunity to visit Cuba. This is now my 6th cruise (2 Carnival, 2 RC, 2 Disney). We knew going in that this ship was the smallest of the fleet and did not have all the bells and whistles and tech of the newer mega ships, however for a 4 night cruise where the destination is the main draw Majesty was more than adequate and accommodating. Despite many of the reviews on here of "an old and tired ship" and "terrible food/stay clear of the fish" our experience was quite the opposite. The ship is in great shape for being 26 years old, and very clean. The service on-board was as good as any other cruise I have been on, there were enough activities for a 4 night cruise with one day at sea, we were never bored or felt we did not have something to do. The theater shows were very well done, and yes they are of generally 60s/70s music but the production was very good and the performers were very talented. The comedian (Chris Bliss) was great as well. The food on-board was good to very good. Dinner options were not as diverse as I would like however and lobster tail was a $29 up charge. I had fish twice while on this ship, once for dinner (swordfish-was excellent) and once in the windjammer buffet (baked fish-was good). The pizza at Sorento's was very good. Johnny Rockets we had for lunch on our day at sea and was okay I guess, I wouldn't go again as it is $9.95. We did a couples massage on day 3 after Cuba and it was incredible, they advertised $129 per person for 50 minutes I believe but they will knock of $30 if you ask. As far as the ports of call: Key West was lovely, make sure to beeline it for the southernmost point marker for photos because a line does form. Drinks at Sloppy Joe's were awesome. There is a free trolly tour available. CUBA! our day in Cuba started by lining up at the theater with our excursion tour, we were led out in a line to go through customs (which was interesting!) overall pretty easy but about a 45 minute wait to get from ship to Cuban soil. We did Royal Caribbean's Havana walking tour, It started out with a 15 minute bus ride through old Havana driving by many sights and historical locations. We stopped first at a place called "Salon Rojo" which is a night club of all places, there they had arranged Cuban cigar lessons with Mojitos, Havana Club rum and Cafe con leche. We were there for about 45 minutes and for me this was the highlight of the tour as it was totally unexpected and felt very authentic. Afterwards we took the bus for another 10 minutes to another location got out and started the walking tour going through many plazas, squares and beautiful architectural locations. There were a few negatives for us in Cuba: one was the beggars on the streets: I was grabbed by my arm several times by woman in Cuban dance costumes to get me to want to take a picture with them for tips, we were hassled by men playing guitar who felt that if they came close to you and started playing/singing you were obligated to tip them, we were also annoyed by men drawing/sketching pictures of us unbeknownst to us and coming up trying to guilt us into buying them. The other negative to Cuba was our tour itself: never was there an opportunity to get something to eat, and speaking of eating in Cuba- DO NOT DO IT! - Our guide at the end of our tour (when we were absolutely starving) advised us that if we chose to eat in Cuba to make sure our lunch was at least $20, if we were to only pay $7-$10 for lunch than they probably did not use sterile water and the food may make us sick! Our reaction was "well what if they sell us $7 food for $20???? Needless to say we rushed back to the ship asap to eat on-board. We did NOT convert currency at all and spent money in 3 locations in Cuba, all took USD at the correct conversion rate. Overall Cuba was visually stunning in many ways and totally worth the trip. The ship has a great crew (besides the Bingo host with the lisp who WILL NOT STOP TALKING) the food was very good and we had a blast. Do not hesitate to go to Cuba on Majesty- Ryan and Shaloni. The ship seemed old certain lounges smelled like smoky motel rooms , the cabin was clean but once again out dated, Plumbing issues on my floor for three of the four nights It smelled like pure poop on deck 5. Dining was ok it would have been nice to have a vegetarian option in fine dining each night they charged us $14.50 a day each person for restaurant dinning find out if its optional because they use a lot of the buffet food expect for maybe steak, Entertainment would have been nice to be able to go to every activity but it seems like they were all going on at the same time, Service was good, Port of tampa was easy to go through however BEWARE, they lie to you to get you to book an excursion in CUBA threats of IRS audits and even cuban police arresting you if you don't book an excursion. You dont have to if you don't want to!!! on there paper work I choose #4 other and checked of for the Cuban people, ALSO be prepared for the $75.00 Cuban Visa fee for each person. CUBA Old Havana looked like a war zone and or like an earthquake hit. People begging on the streets. Very sad to say the least. I made the best of it went to the cathedrals an walked to the museums, food was horrible eat a hardy breakfast bring snacks eat on the boat!! BRING TOILET TISSUE and lots of dollar bills and fives they tell you you have to change currency but i saw a lot of American money being exchanged in CUBA AND BUY A CASE OF WATER its gets costly. Aside from booking cost, I spent and additional $700 over my budget in unexpected fees and and I was not partying or gambling every night either!!! look on line for your parking needs its over $140 parking at the port. Key West was the best part of my trip but this particular cruise I would not go again. Read Less

Chose this crew because of the Ports of Call specially Havana Cuba. Always great to party in Key West, Havana was incredible! Hire a private guide with a driver, if it’s summer get a car with a/c. Cozumel was a good stop as we went scuba diving, not much else to do in Cozumel since they aren’t doing excursions off the island. The ship is older but was well maintained. Do Not stay on the 7th floor as it had a heavy mold smell from the doors that open to the open deck allow lots of moisture into the rugs. The crew was amazing, very warm, extra friendly...wonderful! Do Not book the Chefs Table. The food and service were so terrible we had the Head Chef come to our table so we could speak to him about how poor the experience was...he did have all 10 of us that were at that table refunded the $85 each we paid for the Chefs table. The food was below sub standard, we all wished we had just eaten in the main dining room. As to the main dining room, the service was exceptional...the food was hot and miss...the fish was terrible. The ship is smaller so the room is not huge but we found it to be comfortable and clean. Read Less

We chose this cruise for the destinations. We are loyal to RC. Ok ok. I've cheated with the Circus named one but I've come back to RC. Nothing has RC beat! The dinner options are the same nightly in the dining room, except for an item or two. Food was great! The Magical Upgrade Fairy came along and jumped us from an Oceanview room to a Junior Suite for no money out of pocket! However, the JS was under the Windjammer. Swinging doors and walking above us is what we heard whenever the WJ was open. The cabin had a single double outlet for the whole cabin, which was so loose that when we plugged in items to use, they would fall out of the socket most of the time. Excellent on board entertainment. The crew were super friendly. Key West and Cuba were amazing ports. We did our own thing in both Key West and Cuba. Overall great experience. Try out the Majesty. Sailed August 1, 2018. Although the ship is in fine condition for its age, the staff needs retrained and Royal needs to reevaluate some things. Handwashing-Huge #1 complaint. No hand washing. The staff never attempted to control peoples handwashing with the Purel station at any dining venue. This is the first cruise we've seen where there is no "Washy Washy" person. My wife got sick on day 2 with an upset stomach and almost screwed up a shore excursion in Cuba. We've never gotten a stomach problem on a cruise before. Could be coincidence. Dining-Be careful of your set seating time in the Starlight Dining room. It's also the My Time dining room, which means your meal is constantly interrupted by My Time diners walking in, usually in sweat pants or swimwear even on Formal night, and congragating right next to you since the staff doesn't control the flow of guests. Even had some children doing gymnastics right next to me while eating my 8pm dinner with my wife. Food is best we've had on any Royal Cruise. Kinda shocking how good it was. It saved our horrible dining room experiences. When I complained to dining room staff, I was told to get up and stand in line behind all the My Time dineres and ask for a better seat. Passengers-This ship is very overcrowded for its size. We've been on many Royal ships, and this one is packed to the gills with people. Elevators slow and packed even after day one. Very uncomfortable. Buffet is very crowded, as usual, but enjoyed the concept of buffet, compass deli, sorrentos, and johnny rockets all in the same area. The crowd on this particular cruise was kinda trashy. Swearing, spitting, no appropriate attire in the dining room or any venue for that matter. Over 420 children aboard with little adult supervision. Cabin- Our stateroom attendent (Stateroom 5000) had no clue. Ice bucket was too much to ask for twice a day. Room wasn't made up most days till after 2pm. Turn down was lucky before 10pm. Wine glasses (as requested in our room) was a 50/50 shot. Never carried so much ice to my room in cups as before. Room wasn't clean as expected. Attendent never noticed or cared that our ceiling had sticky liquid on it and mirrors were smudged from previous guests. Dust bunnies on carpet next to bed the size of real bunnies. Also, never seen a ship where the attendents and all their carts/vacuums are in the hallway for most of the day. You are constantly dodging them. Deck 5, starboard side had a constant sewage smell from the elevators 1/2 way to the front of the ship where our stateroom (5000) was located. Prepare to hold your nose. Not kidding. Cuba- Awesome destination! Highly recommend it. Loved the Historic Tour with Classic Car. Don't miss it! Cozumel- Status Quo. Buy some Tequila, drink a beer, get back to the ship and enjoy the only time the pool isn't packed shoulder to shoulder. Never seen a pool so packed on any ship we've been on. Good luck. Read Less

Chose this cruise for the fact that it is "advertised" as 3 days in Cuba. When looking for different cruises, we selected Royal due to its reputation and the 3 day stay vs Carnivals 2 day stay. They tried to force us to buy excursions in Cuba. We were told we couldnt leave the ship without it (LIE). Advertised as 5 specialty dining areas (LIE). The food was bland and at times not hot enough; but the service was great. I was not satisfied with Royal Caribbean at all. I've sailed with Carnival and Norweigan and this was by far the worse. Yeah yeah it's an older ship. That shouldnt matter. Maybe it's my demographic and I may be biased; but that should matter. I was shocked that there were only maybe 5 or 6 decks with rooms. Because the ship is smaller, it seemed like everyone was on top of one another the first day. There is one main (small) pool, a kiddie pool on the other side, and 4 jacuzzis. There is a bar on either side of the pool area. The comedy show was TRASH. Maybe it you're a retired person the jokes might hit home. The rest of the entertainment crew was AWESOME. The staff was GREAT. Being that the ship is small (very) there is a homely feel to the ship. I would not recommend this cruise to any young adults as the programming was boring and there were a lot of older people on this cruiseline. And then I realized I could write more than 150 words.....let's go! Cuba is a very beautiful. Like everyone else says it is a city suspended in the 50s. I felt bad for the citizens at first but quickly realized they arent as materialistic as the rest of the world and were content. DO NOT PAY FOR A TOUR. As soon as you get off the ship walk to the parque central hotel. Try to get a 5 hour wifi card (you get a free drink from the bar with purchase). DOWNLOAD OF CUBA OFFLINE" (MAKE SURE TO DISCONNECT WHEN NOT USING THE INTERNET OR YOUR TIME WILL RUNOUT. ALSO YOU CAN ONLY GET ACCESS NEAR NEWER BUILDINGS OR HOTELS) better to download it before you leave the states). What a great app. It showed us our current location even without internet. We were able to search famous locations as well as well known spots. THIS APP WAS A LIFE SAVER FOR SURE. Beware of cab drivers. They overcharge you if they think you're a tourist. You can probably get away with hiring a driver for the day. Pay them half up front and the rest later (30 cuc might be good). Back to the parque central hotel. Outside of the hotel there are two buses. One bus takes you on a tour of cuba. It is an air conditioned coach with a bathroom. It cost 10 cuc roundtrip! The second bus will take you to the Santa Marie beach for 5 cuc roundtrip. Dont be tempted to get off at the first few stops. GET OFF AT THE TROPICANA HOTEL (Might have spelt it wrong). MOST OF THE SOUVENIRS THERE ARE MARKED HIGHER THAN IN HAVANA. The beach is beautiful. You can get 2 beach chairs and an umbrella for 4 cuc. They will try to charge you more. DONT BUY THE COCONUT AND RUM. IT WAS HORRIBLE AND HOT. They have catamarans, kayaks, and there were sailboats giving rides. The police were on the beach and everyone was friendly. The last bus back to havana is at 6pm and the lines may be long. Leave sooner. I recommend not telling people you're american or flaunting it as people will follow you and try to get you to go places to buy stuff or to eat. They seem harmless though. Becareful. I hope this helps someone out there. Bring a rag or hand towel to wipe off sweat. Most places are not air conditioned. Carry sunscreen, bug repellent, TISSUE, wipes, and hand sanitizer. Read Less

Cuba was the main draw of this cruise. The ship was not updated and very “blah”...unimpressive. It was clean but not updated. Key west was also a draw however it was a disappointing port. It was hot, not much to do, no beaches nearby. Walked around a bit, got overheated, went to the shipwreck museum and aquarium. It was ok. Havana was amazing to see for the first hour. The buildings and parks/plazas are so amazing, lots of history. No shopping or things to do except pre arranged tours. Most people just hung our outside, no one seemed to work much (street sweeps just sat around on benches for example). Most buildings are vacant and falling apart. Would be cool to come back in a few years when they get they stuff together a bit more and are prepared for tourists. Everything is so run down. Cozumel was a great port. Most people’s favorite. Book a beach club like nachi cocum ahead of time. Great relaxing time. There were a few significant staff members that were rude and even lied to us when it suited them. The debarkation process for Cuba was a mess. We waiting in the lounge to leave for 2 hours and were not even allowed to get in line because they prioritized people who had royal Caribbean excursions. We were supposed to be allowed off at 7:30am (clearance time) but we only got off at 9:30am. When we complained about this, the staff ember said we should have know and watched their channel 14 cruise tv. Who watches that on a vacation?! There were many other disgruntaled families also waiting to get off. There was another strange run in with the same staff member at the pool for one of the competitions. A friend of ours signed up and was later kicked our of the competition because he didn’t weigh as much for the belly flor contest although that was not previously stated as a requirement and he was allowed to sign up initially. This specific entertainment staff memeber kept having to tell us lies to maintain his rep. The entertainment was very weak comparing to other ships. No cirque shows or anything too interesting. We loved our time on the Majesty of the Seas. Everything was quite honestly, perfect. The staff is wonderful, the food is great and the entertainment kept us laughing and smiling the entire time. The itinerary is one of the best reasons to take this cruise. The amount of history in both Cuba and Cozumel is worth it alone. We found our tour guides in Cuba and Cozumel to be honest, delightful, informative and entertaining. The daily information newsletters were extremely thorough and accurate, leaving very little to ask about. The pool is a little tight for the amount of people on board but we could always find seats around the deck an in the pool itself. I would prefer that children couldn't use the adult end of the pool at all. There is enough space for children in the other end of the pool. That is my one and only half complaint. I'd recommend this cruise to anyone wanting to tour Cuba. I didn't want to get off of the ship when we came into port! Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the Cuba portion of the trip. However, the entire staff of the ship surprised us with their great service. Our stateroom attendant was efficient and friendly. Our wait staff in the Starlight dining room was superb and the menu choices were delicious. The Windjammer buffet was convenient for breakfast but we ate lunch and dinner in the main dining room. The guest services and activities staff was full of enthusiasm and always helpful. We enjoyed the karaoke, trivia, bingo, comedy and singing/dancing performances. Even the live sports in the Schooner bar were entertaining. Embarkation was easy and lines were manageable. Disembarking in Key West was a long line for self-tours because there is a shuttle that must take you off the Navy Port where it docks. I would recommend booking a tour through Royal Caribbean because there lines were much shorter. We booked a tour through RC for our Cuba portion and the wait was still about 45 minutes but was well organized. The 4-hour Easy Panoramic Tour was interesting and historic but there was no where to buy food, so come prepared with bottled water and snacks. Our cabin was a good size and although the rooms could use a decor update from the 90's, it was clean and well-maintained. This ship is good for adults and teens but does not have as many activities for small children as a young family might need. We also recommend the Backstage All Access Tour. It was really cool to see the galley, lower decks, the bridge, and be able to hear directly from the supervisors of each section of the ship. Read Less

The food and service was not up to cruises I have been on with Royal Caribbean in the past. The staff was like they were in a training mode. The bar service was very prompt and the bar areas was well maintained. Our tour guide was excellent and knew the history of Cuba and pointed out many interesting things about Cuba. which made the excursion more interesting. I would go to Cuba again but not on Majesty of the Seas. I know there are very few cruise ships going to Cuba so selections are limited but Royal Caribbean needs to improve the service and food selections on the Majesty of the Seas before I would take it again. I will continue to sail on Royal Caribbean because I like this cruise line. Read Less

+I had never been on a cruise before let alone out of the United States of America. I chose this exciting cruise because of a combined decision among family members. The ship is not even the biggest ship offered, yet is still really large! The state rooms were very clean and the staff members were lovely. Most of my meals were held at the Marketplace. The food had many options- some the same every day but definitely enough variety for me to enjoy the experience and not feel like I am eating the same thing every day. -There were two fires while I was on this ship. One was at 3am. This consisted of staff members and the captain over the loud speaker at 3 o clock in the morning. The way the staff handled the situation was great, however a fire in the incinerator at 3am is not always the best wake up call. The second fire had to do with the A/C units. I don't know how far the A/C outage occurred, but me and my floor did not have air conditioning for a night & half the next day. The last negative I have is that the bathroom toilet in my state room randomly did not have water flowing in it and would refuse to flush. This is gross and not acceptable for obvious reasons. I was born in Miami in the 50's, and was only six years old when many of our new neighbors suddenly didn't speak english. At age six, I really didn't understand what happened in Cuba to make them leave there country and come to Miami. I found our new neighors very friendly and invited us right into their homes and introduces us to all their wonderful cuban dishes. Even though we had communication issues in the beginning, they leaned english and we leaned spanish. I learned that the Cuban people were very friendly, religious and family oriented. Ever since I was six, I've wanted to visit Cuba and finally I was able to see the place our neighbors, Rose and Guillermo were born. Royal Caribbean and Majesty of the Seas made this visit possible. We sailed on Majesty back in 1996 when it was new and I was happy to see that it has been kept up nicely. The ship doesn't have all the modern features, speciality dining and number of bars as the newer ships, but the dinning room food was good and service was wonderful. The cabin, although smaller than what we're used to, it worked for five days. The entertainment was excellent and they had a diamond lounge which we were happy to see, because it wasn't mentioned in the ships amenities. Havana Cuba was everthing I thought it would be and more. The city's Infrastructure and buildings are badly in need of repair and restoration, but the people were so friendly and greatful to meet visitors from the U.S. I believe there are many opportunities ahead for the Cuban people, Cuban business and Cuban tourism now that relations have opened up a bit. I can only hope that the US and Cuban Governments can start repairing past wrongs and talking about the future. We do plan to visit Cuba again next year for a multi city, multi day visit. Read Less

I’m an avid cruiser this was worst experience I’ve EVER had. We were not able to go to port, room service charged, maintenance consistently done on ship, was turned away from activity we paid for, ship offers unusual amount of paid onboard activities, staff quotes different prices for same onboard activities, pipe burst hot water off, sanitizer stations often empty. Upper Hallways smelled of sewage. Staff not on same page many came across as stiff and uninformed. Sells tactics is pushy on this ship. Medical emergency means nothing to these people other than another possible pay day. Food not as described on menu, but tasty. Dining menu pretty redundant no lobster night as Royal often offers. Cocktails weak usually $10-$12 per drink. Juices $3.50. Tips automatically included with every onboard purchase. Rooms could be cleaner saw visible dirt on doors and shower. I would not recommend this ship or cruise line you get better value for your money with Carnival or Norwegian. Majesty of Seas 5/23 Cuba & Cozumel Read Less

We had changed our cruise due to the recent hurricanes damage to other ports. So we rebooked for Cuba. There is no specialty resuratnts on board this boat so you have to eat at the basic dining room or the WINDJAMMER. Food gets old in the Dinning room day after day. Windjammer has the same food every day. Tasteless. Service at both excellent, not the food. I lost weight. Cuba is worth seeing but go on a different boat. I heard something on this trip. That Royal Caribbean was sold. If that is true then this explains alot. Room service there is a charge to use it. 7.95 each time you use it. the menu changed also. Read before you fill out the form and get charged. Also new rule. beach towels you will be charged 50.00 on your last bill at closing it out. So the your own towels. We were to go two to ports. went to one Cuba. Cozumel was canceled due to Mother nature. We were not giving a credit or nothing except a extra day on ship to spend money. If I wanted to be nickeled to death I would have went on the Carnival Cruise lines. We all complained nothing. So it will be my last cruise on Royal . But Cuba was sweet. A must on your bucket list. I chose this cruise because it was going to Cuba. My husband and I chose Royal Caribbean because we were under the impression that it was a step up from Carnival. However we were greatly dissapointed in the late night offerings as well as the Knit noid charges imposed on the ship such as $2 popcorn during the comedy show. Of which was quite underwhelming. There was a charge for room service. $7!!! A woman was complaining she had to travel to the buffet to get hot water to feed her infant child. There were no real late night food offerings. The only thing you could eat late night was 4th rate pizza that I would feed to my dog. The bartending staff was fickle, happy some days, short on others. However the staterooms were roomy and our steward was quite helpful. The excursions were extremely over priced and we opted to go on a private tour of which we got so much more than those that went through the cruise ship. I would highly recommend Fertours if going through Cuba. Read Less

Finally, My Cuba Review – It was Great! MOS – Inaugural voyage to Cuba May 8 – 14 (It was nice to get the RCCL certificates) First Impression – We are in our mid-40’s and get along with most people, this cruise I thought the staff and the fellow cruisers were the best that I have encountered in my last 5 cruises (all on longer ships) Boarding – make sure you have all your paperwork completed, they will tell you that you might check the box stating that you will take RCCL activities, just check the box and keep moving, we also checked support for Cuban people, no one looks at the form again once you get your sea pass. Room – I knew it would be small but it was bigger than expected, clean and we had no problems, had an ocean view on deck 6 – I loved the location (Tween Deck it was called). The best room attendant of any cruises; so attentive and helpful. Food – I didn’t go hungry, although I liked the Windjammer and the hidden restaurant in the back and upstairs the best (they made crepes), on some days the Windjammer has special food I just happened to go in and get the tacos and they were good. There was even a seafood day in the windjammer. Dinner Room was ok for me, my tablemates ate steak and lamb and they all enjoyed it very much. The staff was very friendly. Pool – good, no problem finding chairs in the shade or sun (it did rain a lot during our trip). Did not see any stained towels. Poolside bar near the windjammer made the best drinks. I had the non-alcoholic drink package and my DH the alcoholic (all the bars made me non-alcoholic mojitos or whatever I asked for. (We brought the package on sale, if you call in direct only one has to buy the expensive drink package and the other can buy another package). Shows – I went to two shows, one was a singer that was really good and the other were RCCL dancers – enjoyed all that I attended. Ports of Call Havana overnight – (you will exchange you money but it was no problem doing this, we spent around $200, mostly the carriage and 4 taxi rides and some clothing purchases We did our own tours in a carriage/horse with a guide and then off to a restaurant Ajiaco in the countryside in Cojmar, Habana – it was a pretty ride about 15 minutes from port area. We did visit some friends and saw most of the hotels and embassy row. Our tablemates did the RCCL night excursions and really enjoyed them. It was really raining in May so we did go to the market that is just left of the port exit. Almacenes de San Jose 9-8 pm Taxis are easy to get, make sure you learn a few Spanish words. Don’t forget buy some Rum – we tasted some 20 year Rum – I don’t even drink much but it was the best Rum that I had ever tasted. Cozumel – We just walked around and enjoyed the sites and people watching Yes, we would go back but we have so many other places that we would like to visit. Read Less
