One of the worst, most humiliating experiences of my life. Due to a noise complaint I was forced out of my room, forced to answer questions under duress to security, forced to talk to two doctors, and then locked in my room for 30 hours despite the doctors telling them to let me go, that everything was fine. The ship captain is an egomaniac who made the decision and refused to talk to me. The doctor didn’t understand why they were doing it but wouldn’t get involved. Security was either on a power trip or were complete cowards. Even if none of that had happened, it was still a terrible liner. The rooms were terrible. Paint was scrapped, desk was chipped, heat didn’t work so the room was freezing and the shower water didn’t got hotter then lukewarm. Despite them promising to fix those last two, it never happened. The gym equipment was old and terrible. The free weights were all banged up. Half the treadmills couldn’t go over 7 mph. I did a body composition analysis and the machine was obviously broken as it popped out numbers that were clearly impossible. They still managed to charge $45 for it though. They screwed you with pricing for the wifi, $15 a day and it was the worst WiFi imaginable. It could barely load pictures. They charged an outrageous price for the drink package and all the bars desperately needed updating. All of the guns were broken, and nothing was refrigerated so if you got a drink with ice, it immediately melted, ruining the drink. You could never use the pool or hot tubs as they were always full of children. There needed to be some adult only locations so we could enjoy these amenities. The crew did there best but were clearly overworked and underpaid. It was hard not to tell bad for them, and this alone had me convinced never to book with royal Caribbean again. No one should Read Less

I'll start off by warning you this is a detailed review of our experience so far, on Majesty of the seas and we have only been in the ship a couple nights..hoping it turns around. The Royal Caribbean parking and check in process here in New Orleans is a clusterF#(K like no other, we have been on carnival from here and many RC cruises from other ports and none are as badly put together as the one here. Not sure if its any better if you park out in a public parking garage but thinking it maybe better to just do that, be cheaper, and wouldn't require you to walk over railroad tracks out in the open (glad it didnt rain on us and hope there is no rain upon return or we will be wet dogs). We tried to book our cruise about back about 2 months before the cruise date, for the 2nd person 60% off and kids free deal. We were told no more cabins were left to handle 4 people so our only choice was to pay for 2 cabins, got lucky enough to have them next door to each other, but boy are these cabins small and tight, yes these are even smaller than your typical cabins if you have been on any of the Oasis class ships. The ship shows its age, housekeeping and maintenance could be improved dramatically to at least make some of the simple really obvious issues better. Our sink does not drain, we have asked for that to be looked at 2 times and still isn't working right, the shower head in both cabins shoots water out from the hose so giving the kids a shower is a mess! The shower wall had mold on it, floors were not vacuumed in both rooms, the sink leaks from the bottom edge all over the shelf below, looks like its been doing that for several years from the damage its caused. I went to put my hats and stuff on the very top edge of the vanity and it had not been dusted off in months, so asked the room attendant to clean it off who than also found 3 old bars of soap up there as well. Room attendant Craig on deck 4, is who we have...unfortunately he is not happy to be on this ship, mad at the world, or maybe hates people of our ethnicity..regardless he doesnt speak to us, never officially introduced himself to us like they always do, actually had to ask 2 others and him who our attendant was just to find out who would be in our cabins each day, seemed upset about something and making it obvious so today i had to ask if we did something to make him upset or if everything was okay, needless to say that conversation went nowhere, he seemed bothered by us, so we have kindly asked him to not go back into our cabins to avoid any further issues with him...NOT LETTING HIS UGLY ATTITUDE RUIN OUR TRIP!! Our first day of the cruise we went to talk with dining and the first guy said we were all set for 530 dining but my parents were not at the table with us so we needed to go speak with his boss and she would make that happen. We went over to the head waiter Tamara i believe was her name, she said we were not on 530 and asked us who told us so, we showed her so she yelled for him to come over there and pretty much disciplined him right there in front of us, told him he was wrong, did not know how to look at his screen, needs to make sure he looks at the screen better and not to give guests the wrong info. We get it that he made a mistake but the way she treated him in front of us made him probably feel like jumping off the ship would be better and made us feel very uncomfortable as well. Sorrento Pizza and Compasd deli only keep 1 person on duty even when its about to be lunch time and lines are forming before 1130, RC needs to properly staff these areas so that people are not waiting so long for pizza, and staff isn't running like mad men trying to prepare, cook, cut, serve the items...its ridiculous that they do not better organize things for these type of areas for the rush hour times. We did report our issues with our Room Attendant to his supervisor, but the damage is done and we are stuck having to look at his grumpy ugly side eye ooks at us for the rest of the week, it sucks that 1 staff member can ruin the vibe of our trip when they make you feel like there is some sort of personal issue with us when we dont even know him. We have been loyal RC users and go to Emerald status with RC after this trip but unfortunately this is our 2nd time in the last 5 or 6 RC trips that we have had an issue with a room attendant, ironically both times the room attendant was from Jamaica, and as I understand RC is required to hire a certain amount of people from Jamaica as part of their deal to port in Jamaica but the service provided by the folks from Jamaica is not nearly as friendly and professional as you see from the people from China, India, or Mexico...im sure others will experience this same issue as we have, and hopefully RC will give them more training or not force these people into service level duties that require them to be friendly to people. Hoping our trip experience improves over the next few days, I used to love cruising but this hasn't been much of anything for us this time around...was hoping to just relax, not be stressed or worry about dumb sh!t while on vacation. Just to forewarn this is mainly all a negative comment Lol. This ship is the 3rd smallest in the fleet, and built in the 90s. Boarding was not very smooth for us. Royal Caribbean never sent me any emails or a boarding pass or a barcode or anything. Luckily I had downloaded the app so I at least had our room number but that was it. Ive been on one other cruise that was 10 years ago with carnival so I had no idea I was supposed to have a barcode to board the ship. Nowhere/nothing mentioned that. The room was tiny, which is to kind of be expected but it’s definitely smaller than the rooms I’ve had on carnival. We had an exterior room with a little round dirty window, Not to mention we are on our honeymoon and our bed is two twin beds just pushed up next to each other. We paid for the unlimited drink package, it was around $860 for two, but they were running out of stuff. Day 5 they Ran out of pina coladas. An excursion that I booked has been canceled on four separate occasions. The morning of that port, they were offering it again at a different time so I paid for it got off the ship and waited for an hour to find out that they had canceled it again. So that is now five times I have paid for the excursion just for it to be canceled afterwards. We sat and waited and asked multiple staff off the ship about the excursion and no one seemed to know anything. Finally 45 minutes past the time we were supposed to leave we found someone different to ask who then told us it had been canceled. Talking to the shore excursions desk is a nightmare and they are extremely rude and basically say that it’s not their problem and out of their control. Which is odd because its a royal caribbean excursion. There were Kids absolutely everywhere, When booking I was not aware that kids 12 and under sailed for free or that schools were out for Mardi Gras so maybe I can chalk that up to my mistake of not researching enough but I just had no idea it would be like this Almost every couple we have met have agreed that there are way too many kids. the ship has no adults only place, I was hoping there would be at least one adults only hot tub but no such luck, I did look on the map after I downloaded the app and did not see anything that said adults only but I just had my fingers crossed that there would be something. The hot tub capacity limit was five yet there would be literally 15 kids in the hot tub‘s with masks and snorkels on. Even the bars are full of kids which makes no sense to me how are bars allowed to have little kids. The only area that has no kids is the casino but you can smoke in there so that is just one big cloud of smoke. On port days some things on the ship are closed, not very many bars open, so be prepared to wait a while for a drink. At the pool there Nowhere to ever sit, and people reserve chairs with towels at the crack of dawn and there are just chairs sitting there with peoples towels all day long. I had even gotten up early two mornings to try and get chairs and by 8:30 there is still no where to sit. The policy On royal Caribbean is that if the chair is left unattended for 30 minutes or longer with no sign of returning they are supposed to take the belongings and put into lost and found but no one does that, and they do not even know their own policy. there was one day we saw six chairs with towels on them for over three hours my group finally decided to ask about them and everyone said they weren’t sure what to do. The staff renting out the towels told us to just sit there anyways so we did and then we got out at two hours later by the woman who had been reserving the chairs for five hours. Grand Bahama totally sucked. The port is not pretty at all, and the whole area is beat up from the hurricane. Its definitely not a sight to see. This is where our excursion got canceled but it was too late to book anything else so we got in a taxi to go to a nearby beach spent $40 for a very small and trashy beach area, that once you get to you have to pay for everything. At night there’s just not much to do for a couple in their 30s with no kids, there are quite a few bar areas but they are always empty and never music playing. There are a few game shows and things that go on throughout the cruise but they are pretty boring and all you win is a $.10 keychain. On the last day of the Cruise we finally found a hot tub that did not have 15 kids in it so we get in the hot tub to enjoy our last day with drinks and they start playing Disney movies on the screen with loudspeakers at 1 PM. it was so loud we couldnt even talk to our friends in the hot tub with us. Who wants to sit around the pool watching Disney movies at 1 o’clock in the afternoon?! In the casino, we were playing Texas hold em, the table was totally full, everyone having a great game, and at around 2 o’clock they decided to shut the game down completely because they did not have staff to keep the game going. Entertainment on the ship I would call mediocre. There were two comedians, one who we thought was great, the other was decent. There were multiple musical type shows, which we have zero interest in but to each their own. A couple nights theyd have an orchestra playing. And one night had a magician who was okay. Getting off the boat, was a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE!!! We were two hours late getting to the port which was fine because that was out of their control. But you can choose to either carry off your luggage yourself or you could check it in and the staff will take it off. We chose to take our luggage our self because we knew we would get off the boat and get out of there faster. There was absolutely zero organization and no order as far as who got off the boat when. Anyone on the ship who was carrying off their luggage was directed to all go to deck 4, so over half the ship they expected to be all in one tiny area with their luggage fighting to get off basically. Quickly that store got way too full so they started sending people up to higher decks. There are 4 elevators, and stairs. They were literally yelling at people to quickly go up floors, and to carry their luggage up the stairs and had no one there to help. I noticed quite a few elderly people struggling to get their things up the stairs while the staff just sat and watched them, offering zero help. So now everyone was spread out throughout the ship luggage in hand for about an hour and then they announce everyone to come back down to deck for her and they would start releasing everyone so then you are stuck in the exact same situation, everyone trying to get to the same deck at the same time. It was impossible!!! I don’t understand why they would not have each deck exit one floor at a time instead of telling everyone to meet on the same floor... The wifi was decent. I didnt love spending $100 for it, and it wouldnt stay connected for more than a few minutes, but it atleast worked off and on. This was our second cruise, bur first with royal caribbean. We will NEVER take another RC cruise again, and probably won’t ever even take a cruise in general again because this totally ruined my outlook on cruises. If you are in your 20s-30s with no kids, do not go on this ship. Even with all of the kids aside, there really is just not much to do. The pros were.....our server at dinner was phenomenal. His name was Jake and we loved him. Also most of the bartenders were very good and friendly. Coco Cay was great! It was a beautiful day and multiple places to sit without having to pay extra. It’s also nice that your drink package works on that island. We did an excursion snorkeled on our own and then just went to the pool. The downside I would think about Coco Cay is that there are lifeguards and ropes so that you cannot go out too far for or to certain areas which I’m sure is just for your safety but someone who has 100+ times I did not like being limited. The excursion we did was the stingray city and we absolutely loved it. The tour operators were great and we had more than enough time there. On the ship there was a gameshow called quest, that was a lot of fun! But it was only one night. In Key West we did an excursion called sail and snorkel and it was a lot of fun! However online it says 3 hours, but keep in mind its an hour boat ride out there, and an hour in. So its only one hour snorkel time. Also you dont get to drink until youre on the way back. The guys on the boat were awesome and so helpful. It was a good experience and i’d suggest it. Probably not for children though considering you are out in open water, and it can be a little rough. Also we stayed at towneplace suites in metarie the night before, and were allowed to leave our car there for the week for no extra cost. We ubered to and from the cruise at around $25 each time. When we got off the boat to help our Uber out we walked maybe half a mile so he could get to us easier and faster Read Less

Just returning from 7 days on the majesty of the Sea out of New Orleans. Brought my sister in law with us who had never been on a cruise. It was not the best Impression for a newbie. Beyond RCC control the ship arrived at 3:30 due to experiencing bad weather coming in. Embarkation was a crazy madhouse. Very long lines since they had us all arriving to board at 3:00pm. Embarkation took about 90 minutes. Pros Cheap price Food Average to above average Eagles Tribute band phenomenal Comedian very fun Ports were great Guitarist was great Staff courteous and helpful Dining staff excellent Cons Inside room on deck 2 very small and minimal storage. Hint. Have beds as twins rather than king. Made room more comfortable for two people Beverage prices high (1 beer and 1 Bloody Mary was $25 after tip) No seating in Centrum area where many events took place Production shows were average. Pool area overcrowded especially hot tubs, no area for adult only, kids took over the hot tubs Sewer smell on lower decks, especially today on debarkation day, enough to make you nauseous while waiting forever for elevators Buffet for breakfast usually pretty good but today coffee cold eggs cold too little seating. Waited too long before opening both buffet sections With all the news about conovirus the handrails were not wiped down enough Accessibility for many was difficult due to having to use stairs to get to several of the elevators in the main areas of the ship I’ve been on many cruises on four different cruise lines , RCC included. If this was my first cruise I would not cruise again. Very bad impression. I will cruise again but I think it is time to gut and redo this ship or retire it completely Key West and Nassau are walkable ports. We enjoyed both of these port days. Used some of the walking tour ideas from Pinterest. Coco Bay was very clean and nice. We were the only ship there that day. Complimentary food available was good ( except hamburger). There were plenty chairs around beach and pool available. You can use your beverage package on this island that is owned by RCC Read Less

Chose this cruise because of value and time constraints. Cruise port hard to navigate and understand because of lack of signage. On entering stateroom found shower had not been cleaned properly and had long dark hair on walls and floor. Offered a bottle of wine for our inconvenience. Traveling with a young child and they were not very accommodating at changing dining time to early. Dining room staff in evening were excellent but breakfast left a lot to be desired. Food was only warm and service was lacking. A few days into cruise found tiny ants (termite type) in our cabin. Their response from Hotel Mgr was “there cannot be bugs on our ships “. They finally saw them and only offered to move us to move us to deck 8 above the nightclub. IndicTed it was the only available room even though we had staff indicate they were down by approximately 400 passengers. They then offered us a future cruise credit which we declined. Then they offered us an onboard ship credit that we reluctantly accepted. First and last experience with Royal Caribbean. Read Less

If it is too cold to go in the pool on deck, the only things for your children to do is the rock wall (during it's open hours) and Ocean adventure (their understaffed kid's care). The shows were so, so... Richard Harris the comedian, was good. Although, we never made it to our final destination to trade off performers and entertainers, so that probably contributed. We booked 2 rooms (at the same time), but were assigned different tables on different floors for sit down dining! Then they tried to accommodate by moving us to 8pm dining... won't work with kids. The 2 times we did attend sit down dining we had bad service. The first night the server was sick, so we got fill in service from the other waiters on the floor. We were the last people to get our food over an hour after we were sat down. The 2nd time we got better service, but the lobster we ordered was TERRIBLE. Completely overcooked and chewy. Windjammer and Compass Deli was the saving grace for food for us. Granted the food quality was barely above gold corral buffet food in my opinion. But it was fast and always there, which was great with kids. We NEVER made it to Nassau, never picked up the last entertainers. Instead, their compromise was to take us BACK to Key West for a quick 3-4 hour day trip by the time we got through customs. We're from Florida, so this was really disappointing to not even go the Bahamas, whole reason we booked the cruise. There is not much of anything to do on Key west besides, eat, trolley and the butterfly garden. Which we did the trolley the 1st time... so we gave the butterfly garden a try, oh yeah, the closed 45 min after we got there! That's because we couldn't get off the ship until after 2pm going through customs. It was a 7 days cruise and NOT enough to do on the ship when the weather is so, so and you have so many sail days. This was my fourth cruise with RCI, and, as usual, I left the ship satisfied. We decided to take this cruise as a family since the prices were very low, and we all enjoyed it. Although embarkation was a bit slow, it went smootly. When we boarded the ship, we found out it wasn't as small as we thought it would be. Although it was very accessible, it had a very decent size. Also, since the ship is 30 years old, we thought it would look old. We were wrong. The only thing that made it seem old was the sound that the engines made when they started. We booked an oceanview cabin. When we arrived, we were dissapointed by the size, but we slept comfortably and didn't find the size as a problem, but if you're claustrophobic or are over 70, I wouldn't recommend booking an oceanview cabin for its size. Dining is delicious on this ship. The main dining room was fancy, and the food was amazing. The Windjammer was very good, and there were many potions to choose from, but I would recommend for everyone to have lunch at Compass Deli. The paninis are delicious. All activities are fun and entertaining. The cruise director's staff does a really god job. What you cant miss: 60 Seconds Or Less Challenge, all Trivias, Game Shows, and Baggo Competition. Entertainment is great on the Majesty. Although I didn't attend much shows, I did see Boogie Wonderland, and you can't miss it. All crew is amazing, as on every Royal Caribbean ship. I would like to recognize certain crew members: Qiao Xiu (China), Yifan (China), James (UK), Juvenil (Philippines), Samantha (Mexico), and Tanya (UK). The last is the cruise director, and she does an outstanding job. Regarding ports, there were 2 I loved. First, Coco Cay. The private island is amazing for all ages, and it provides a day full of adventure. I do recommend for every kid and young adult to get the Thrill Waterpark Full Day Pass. It's totally worth it, and all waterslides are amazing. Then, Key West. It's a beautiful, small town filled with small houses. If you want to get to know the island, I recommend renting a bike on your own. You'll save some money. Finally, Nassau. Unless you're going to the Atlantis, don't det off the ship. Overall, we had an amazing vacation, and I would recommend for everyone to take this 7 night cruise. Read Less

I chose royal caribbean since it had higher reviews than Carnival and was considered classier. Capuccino, lattes, coffee shop coffee, room service, eating outside buffet hours were all at an 'extra cost'. Buffet hours are a lot tighter than other cruiselines. There are about 3 hours in between buffet hours where you can only pick up a snack at the crappy pizza spot or deli (elementary school cafeteria style) if you are hungry. Sit down dinner must be scheduled within specific hours of the day so if you pass the dining hall desk at the wrong time of the day, you can't schedule your sit down dinner. I was only able to get sit down dinner 1 day out of the 5 days. Johnny Rockets on the ship is nothing like the Johnny Rockets quality you get on land and the cost is about $15/pp with tip. My egg whites were actually hard boiled eggs with the yellow yolk hand picked out and broken up with a fork before arriving to my plate for room service. LOL. It was okay, but for the amount of money you spend a cruise with food included, I guess I was expecting better food and more hours to be able to eat. The inconvenience of tight schedule for dining makes it pretty impossible for most cruisers to be able to have a sit down meal. Pool area was super crowded, yet very clean since there is no food at the pool except the half filled ice cream cones and little fruit stand with cut up melons. If you think you are going to drink at the pool, and get constant burgers and hot dogs in between your cocktails, you are sadly mistaken. If you are on a diet, and would like to continue your diet on your vacation, then Royal Caribbean is for you lol. They charge you for bottles of water and their EVIAN is $32 for 8 bottles and tastes like toilet water (i can only imagine this is what toilet water tastes like). Make sure you have your room card ready to scan when you return your pool towels or you will be charged $25 per towel ( even if you leave in your Stateroom). Read Less

He would get up in the morning asking to go! Food was fantastic, the Chef's Table dinner with wine paring is a must do if you like wine and great food. Entertainment on the ship was very good, the comedian had my sides hurting 5 minutes into the show. Staff across the board from our cabin stewart to the bartenders were attentive, friendly, engaging and could not do enough for you while we were onboard. I have been on other cruises and this ships staff hits it out of the park for service... I have cruised many times prior and even cruised on Royal Caribbean before. No other cruise that I have taken was as bad as this one. Aside from being thankful I was safe and came home to my family the cruise really was not what I had expected. I hold RC to a higher standard then other lines because they pride themselves on being better than the rest! Being that I have cruised with them prior I too believed that they take pride in making sure they provide a quality and enjoyable cruise for adults as well as families. This cruise lacked events, quality food, ample food and surely did not cater to their itinerary. Knowing people would be out until late the shut down the restaurant that serves buffet style food which left people to eat pizza (taste like cardboard) tacos which was always a sloppy mess in that area or pay to go to Johnny rockets. No clubs on board, simple small area bars that they tried to get everyone together in. Kids as well as adults were unable to get ice cream whenever they wanted unless they paid for Ben and Jerry’s and even they closed early. You know pay for towels and they do not hesitate to apply a towel charge to you even when your on board knowing the towel couldn’t have left it’s somewhere on someone else’s chair because folks just take your towel when you move around. The lines are ridiculous to take to guest services in regards to that matter to have charges removed only for them to tell you to stand in line again the next day at the towel station to let them know. We booked massages on the beach at Coco Key and the therapist were awesome but the facility is nasty. The way it is presented you would think you would be in a secluded area in a cabana in the water or right there close by. You in a little wooden shack with cheap curtains and ridiculous blinds. You get charged a 18% gratuity (which the girls deserved for having to even work in that nasty place). In my opinion of your going to offer a service at least make it a clean facility not a shack where you have men working at less that 200ft away because they are building up the island. You can’t relax because you hear the banging from the workers. Usually cruise ships have events for all ages the teen room looked so boring. Unlike the inviting look that other ships provide. Other ships draw the attention of the youth. We asked if the ship had water slides they said yes and sadly it was for toddlers young children they did have rock climbing and basketball with ping pong and corn hole. First night was 70’s night..... ok boogie wonderland performance was fun and brought back good tunes of my parents music.... then they had a 70’s party, ok well what about people that want to hear something other than disco. They didn’t have anything else. They have a Latin bar but no night was there Latin dancing in there. The fair well party was basic many gathered drunk and made the best of it but again nothing like parties we have ever had in the past. Music was mainly songs that had a dance to it..(cha-cha slide, electric slide) I can go on and on but I will never take this cruise or sail on this ship again. Only specialty restaurant was Johnny Rockets... Room Service was a hour and a half wait and they now charge a $7.95 delivery charge. But the food gets delivered cold. There is no longer a room to iron or wash your clothes. It is strictly dry cleaning service so brace yourself to pay. Shops had cheap items prices hi... however they do offer Nike, Jordan and Nautica apparel now. At one point the elevators reeked of vomit and also the main stairs. Photograhy was at a minimal. Hardly seen anyone to capture moments etc. we paid for the lounge chair with umbrellas. The young lady Kelly was so accommodating at coco key.... that side of the beach was awesome, highly recommended. The little golf trolley they have for shuttles are always available and the gentleman are very nice and pleasing to speak with. Some of the woman that work there on the island selling items are not the easiest to deal with however the lady directly in the front with the ropes T-shirt’s is very nice and super friendly. I can continue to go on and on about other issues and lack of attention to their customers but I am not allowing myself any more time to give to Royal Carribean. Read Less

We do an annual girls weekend and have always done it on the Royal Carribbean - last two years it has been Majesty of the Seas. This year the food was the worst - grey salmon, tasteless meat, under cooked french fries, The vegetables however were good and cooked well. good stuff: 1. Entertainment was good - loved the Elton John show and the comedian. 2. Activity staff - loved the people doing trivia, very friendly whenever we saw them. 3. Our cabin guy was lovely - he brought us lots of ice (we had bottles with us - they allow 2 per cabin). 4. Coco Cay - I just love Coco Cay - it is really beautiful and the buffet on the island it the best food you will get on the trip. 5. Drink prices are reasonable bad stuff 1. The food was just awful (other than coco cay) 2. We had a bad wait staff this year but in previous years they have been good. 3. The restaurant manager was very difficult - we had 10 people on the cruise, yet they only had a table for 8 for us and made a real stink about changing it so the 10 could sit together. Read Less

First off when we registered our 6 yr old daughter at Adventure Kids, I was informed I finished the registration and after two staff telling me I was all set I passed my daughter over to staff in trusting. My wife and I then checked out the ship and what else it had to offer already noticing it was not as good as past cruise ships we had been on. After about an hour and skipping the ridiculous priced beverages we went to get on an elevator and noticed our daughter running towards us crying and scared to death. A nice gentleman had helped her find us and she had told us that as soon as we left she was told that she needed to go find her parents before they would keep her because we needed to sing her in. Obviously none of this was explained. So they had let my 6 yr old daughter go off on her own to find her parents, for an hour! Needless to say she was very scared and didn't want to go back. I went to Guest Services where they connected me with the Manager of the kids club and she insisted we bring her back and let her apologize for this incident and misunderstanding. We did go and speak to her and the only thing they would do is say how sorry they were that I didn't understand. We finished the conversation kindly but in my stomach I was furious. Throughout the cruise we felt nickel and dimed for everything. We felt we couldn't fully enjoy this $1200+ cruise fully without having to pay for so much more. We wondered what the 1200 even got us besides a sardine can sized room and free unoriginal food. The dining experience with the serving staff was delightful and distracting among the constant annoyance of our cruise. Nassau was horrible. A nonsatisfying and continual money pit along with the worst haggles. On a poor tourist beach of Jamongoo?, I think that was the name, we encountered our first set of rival beach staff who faught over customers that eventually led to police being called. Then we took a taxi to Atlantis for $30 and when dropped off, we then learned we couldn't go into Atlantis to look around with out paying for an armband. So we decided to back to the shops after getting another taxi who told us it was only $4 and said that the other taxi was a gypsy and he overcharged us. Official taxis have yellow plates and gypsys have blue plates. While walking around in the shops we found repetitive products for different prices. In one shop we found our second fight over customers and this time it was with us over a shirt. One lady helped us and then another came up and took the shirt from the first lady telling her to leave her customers alone and that it was her sale. Of course at that point we didn't need the shirt and left. Going back to the ship seemed like the best thing to do. The next day on Coco Cay we welcomed the day for something new and hoped this last day would make up for the unfortunate first 3 days. While being the first guests on the island for the day we took advantage of finding a good spot to setup. We tried a paddle boat for 30 min but upon trying to use it realized it was broken and so they traded it out and while trying the new one my daughter was tired and didn't want to do it now so we returned it much earlier than 30 mins. Snorkeling was mediocre. Saw some marine life. Daughter played in the sand mostly. Now lunch was fantastic.!! The small ships to get back on the cruise were tiring and hot. Our room staff was great as well. Always leaving a small towel animal for my daughter was cool. We couldn't wait to get back to land and get off the ship. Feeling like we wasted our money, we won't be doing that a cruise again and probably not Royal Caribbean either. Read Less

The food was not good and was very limited. It was the same thing every day for breakfast and lunch. There was barely any food to eat after dinner and it typically tasted bad. And was exactly the same thing every night. At coco cat they only served food for 2 hours and they did not even have cold water. One member of the service staff refused to provide water to my pregnant wife because it was 1 minute after they had to close and told her she could buy a drink if she wanted to. Not to mention, it took over 2 hours to get off the ship in the morning to get to the island. There were no waiters to get drinks from at the island and there was music for less than 1 hour. All the activities in the island were very expensive and nothing was included with the cruise. The overall night entertainment was really only good one night. Read Less

DO NOT DO THE JET SKI TOUR ON COCO CAY! I was hoping to get keys to a jet ski and get to go off on my own for an hour, hop off and swim at my leisure, and just enjoy that time "exploring" on the jet ski. Nope. This is a single-file guided tour where we all have to stay in the wake of the skiier in front of us. Not fun. The ocean was SUPER choppy on my day and they offered a full refund if anyone wanted to back out, but assured us that it was 'more fun' when the water choppy...and the faster you go, the easier it is to ride the waves. I was going 42 miles an hour and was freaking out the whole time. My 18 year old niece was with me and was almost in tears by the time we reached our 2nd check point. I told them that she and I needed to go slower and the back guide was happy to take us on a more direct route to the next 2 stops...however, going slow meant that we missed the ONE place they would allow you get off you jet ski to swim with the starfish. The ship was just okay...needs updating and not as big as other ships. Windjammer food was good, but wasn't 24/7...so you had to be there during specific times to eat unless you wanted to eat pizza that tasted like cardboard. Formal Dining room was amazing...food was GREAT. Elevators were constantly full and very slow. Be prepaired to wait a LONG time or use the stairs. Ship is loud, loud, LOUD. Don't expect to relax by the pool. The music is SUPER loud. The onboard show entertainment featured AMAZING dancers and vocalists, but the show just wasn't a good show. Comedian was hilarious. Stateroom was small, but it's like that on all cruises. Beds were super comfy. Coco Cay island was AWESOME. Beautiful and relaxing. Just don't jet ski. Atlantis is NOT the place to go for a day trip unless possibly booking through the cruise. WAY too big. Read Less

Repeat customer of RCCL. Decided to bring fiancé and daughter for their first cruise. Tried Canveral as departure port for first time. I am 40 year resident of Florida and its about two hours from Palm Beach Gardens where we live so no touring was involved. Focused on the ship and the "experience". Gold Crown and Anchor status did greatly speed up check in process. Windjammer , Compass Café, and Sorrentos provided good food. The pool area was much noisier with loud music etc. than previous trips I've done. More like Carnival than the RCCL I have come to know over the years. My fiancé noted that effectively through the whole cruise it was "too active and loud". Elsewhere during the cruise around the ship, the "noise" levels were far more as expected. The room was delightful and the staff especially friendly . Very attentive and courteous throughout the ship and whole trip. Muster was a cluster of sorts. Its always a pain in the butt but the crew was a bit lack luster in relaying the importance of it being done. I was caught a little off guard that they didn't require that life jackets to be brought or worn as most other cruises I have taken they were. Departure itself was smooth. I'm a sportfishing boat captain and I get to critique other captains from that perspective. He chose logical efficient and smooth path to get us there ahead of schedule. Dining each night was enjoyale for most part. Crew spectactular, food good, My fiance' noted though that the tables being rectangular long and narrow made conversation awkward. Our table mates were less than enjoyable company but thats not RCCL's fault. Casino was ok. I do miss though coin operated slots. The casino staff were quite "stiff" stiffer than most. I know its business first but they were a bit over stuffy throughout and it seemed to rub off on the patrons and though "busy" not a very "animated" setting. Majesty is a good riding boat. Sleep was comfortable. Nassau was first port of call. The main drag "Bay Street" showed quite a bit of damage from hurricanes of recent. Town it self seemed friendlier than in past. Less of that high pressure hustle. We took the water taxi to Atlantis side for further self touring. They have always been a touch stuffy there but moreso this time. Dropping big $ to partake either exploring their water park or marine life exhibits is understandable but if you were there just to shop or look around you werenot made to feel very welcome. Back aboard ship. The pool was still too noisy but the rest was delightful. Shows and music were pretty good to exceptional. The ride to Coco cay was fine but early morn thunderstoms delayed the opening of attractions. Somewhere in the confusion the teens who had signed in for guided snorkeling and water park package were effectively abandoned and left to fend for themselves. Im a small boat licensed captain and sending her out to snorkle alone would be a no no. That meant buying an extra snorkeling package for safety sake was forced on us. The water park was only opened while she was snorkeling and that part of the "package" was never done. No refund offered. In speaking with our teen we came to find that the teen club was closed earlier than stated both in research and as outlined in their daily activity compass. Kind of a shame as we hoped she could enjoy a little extra freedom as we had been led to think she would have. The ride home was smooth. As with any cruise, the crew is a touch abrupt with passengers trying to get them off so they could reload the next group. I'm used to it so no issue there. At least it was quick and lines not unbearable. All in all it was a good quickie and though it might sound like I was complaining above. The negatives should be outlined in any honest critique. Would I do again or recommend? Absolutely! Read Less

This was our first cruise, chosen because it was convenient to home and over a long weekend. We weren't certain we would enjoy cruising, so we chose a shorter cruise. While we didn't partake of the add on excursions, we thoroughly enjoyed exploring on our own. Our favorite experience was exploring the beautiful beach at CocoCay. What made this birthday cruise special was the exceptional staff. From the first person who greeted us through the wait staff and stateroom attendant, it is clear that this staff is concerned with making certain each passenger feels welcomed. Each crew member we met was engaging and attentive to our every need (including anticipating some we had not considered), and professional - even when faced with some cruisers who were clearly out of line. We found the dining choices to be excellent in both Starlight main dining and Windjammer buffets. The shows in the Chorus Line theater was both varied and surprisingly professional. Read Less

Chose this cruise because this was where my husband and I met when he was an employee on the ship and we have wanted to go back for a while. Though the ship is old, I was very disappointed that after drydocking for renovations, there reallly wasnt much noticeable upgrades. RC has always been a famiy friendly ship, however, we were told there was no nursery on board for our 23month old. Leaving the 8 y/o in the program was such a hassle we didn't even bother(why does a minor need HIS card when the adults have theirs and we are in the same cabin?. The Windjammer staff was EXCELLENT!!! You can tell they value their jobs. Wish there was more variety on the menu especially at breakfast. We had "island" food (curry rice and peas etc) ONE day. Our cabin attendant Iegor was unbelievable. He gave the kids great anticipation as to what he would make next with the towels and he was AWESOME!!! Susan was really funny especially at the Love and marriage game. Our dining waitstaff 830pm seating was EXCELLENT: liked the fact the manager came around to check if all was well. The food options were GREAT and DELICIOUS. Overall, a lot has changed since last cruises and it was a good vacation. Unsure if we would take Majesty again unless dirt cheap but would definity cruise RC again. Read Less

The crew onboard was phenomenal in every aspect! Diningroom service was great, the food was awesome. The stateroom attendant was amazing. He kept our room emaculate. We also had a towel animal EVERY night which was a big deal, the reason being on my wifes first cruise she was expecting a towel animal and never got one. All around an amazing cruise! I wouldnt consider any other cruise line. Ive been on cruises with other lines and ive never had as good of an experience as i do when i cruise with Royal Caribbean. The service, respect, friendliness, and enjoyment on a Royal Caribbean cruise are top notch! If I had a problem with even something small, ANY crew member went out of their way and will go above and beyond to fix the issue and make sure you are overly satisfied. Ill never cruise anyone but Royal Caribbean! Read Less

The rooms are clean and well serviced, the breakfasts and dinners in the main dining rooms are spectacular with great service. Grab a cocktail, beer, free ice cream or slice of pizza whenever you like and enjoy the beautiful cruise through the blue waters of the Caribbean. It is probably one of the best vacations I've ever had - no hassle checking in and out of hotels, wondering where or what to eat and the security of your room or possessions. The staff are all amazingly helpful - one for every 3 passengers and there are plenty of activities for kids and adults alike. I'm definitely going on a cruise again as soon as possible! Read Less

This was our third cruise with Royal Caribbean, and first time on the Majesty of the Seas. We choose this short 4 day/3 night trip, because we were meeting our daughter, who only had a few days off from work. We drove down to Key West first, a place I had always wanted to go. Then up to the Orlando airport (MCO) to pick up my daughter who was flying in, and was on time. Then we drove to the LaQuinta on Cocoa Beach. Day 1, Friday, Departing Port Canaveral, FL. : We arrived at Park-N-Cruise right as they opened, and they immediately offered to take our bags to the shuttle bus. I was checked-in quickly, and given a parking receipt. Then we walked to the bus and sat a brief time until full. We arrived at the port and turned over our main bags to a porter, entered the terminal building, and went through the first screening process fairly quickly. Like last year I carried two bottles of wine in my backpack. Unlike last year, instead of seeing a secondary screen-er to check my wine, I was just passed through. We then got our ship passes without delay. Then we sat in the large holding center with many others for about 20 mins. We were allowed to board the ship around 10:20 and after looking around made our way to the buffet, and were eating lunch before 11:00am. Neither of us have any real complaints about the food or service at the buffet. I suppose it would have been better, if it opened before 7:00am all days, and the ice cream machines were located there. And note, unlike our last cruise, the greeters didn't always insist you using the germ killer solution to enter. Ocean View stateroom, #9524: Around 1:30pm we got in our room, and while it was not as nice as our other two cruises, considering the ship's age, it was fine. This was my first time staying above deck 2, and I choose this room because it was where this type of room was available, and it didn't have pass thru door to the next cabin. On an earlier cruise, that gave us plenty of noise issues. This round, no earplugs, no calls to security, no noise hassles. We pulled away from the dock on time, and our luggage was outside our door on time as well. Only complaint was the room safe was located very low off the floor. We departed on time, about 4pm. The Main Dining Room: We unpacked and walked up to the MDR for dinner, having chosen My-Time dining. The overall service and food in the MDR was fine. We were always able to get a table for three next to a window. There was no lobster night, but we were all satisfied overall. Like before, I did not bring a suit or sport coat on the cruise, and wore a tie only once. Many others obviously shared my viewpoint on formal dress night. Day 2, Saturday, At Sea, and arrive Nassau, Bahamas at noon: We did the usual onboard stuff this day, hot tubs, suntan time, steam room, but it passed quickly on this short cruise. There was no Meet and Mingle due to the cruise duration. And with past experience, I wouldn't have attended the M&M anyway. We arrived at Nassau around noon, and saw plenty of the city's highlights. We returned to the ship around 5pm, and ate dinner in the MDR. We did not buy or need any prepaid excursions. Purchased the usual souvenirs, and had a authentic island lunch. Day 3, Sunday, 8am, arrive CocoCay, Bahamas: Again ,we didn't buy any excursions of any type. The tender procedure went very well, catching the second boat out. We rented some snorkeling gear, and enjoyed the beach, drinks, and suntans. Finally, we got a few souvenirs, and took the tender ride back to the ship. Everything went smoothly, and I we all enjoyed the day. Day 4, Monday, arrive Port Canaveral, FL.. : Like our other cruises, we choose the self-disembarking option, and around 8:00am with luggage in tow, we went to the designated meeting spot. There, we stood in a long line for a while, but not as long as usual. Eventually, we were able to proceed to customs, and the line was shorter than beforer. However, we were unlucky enough to be routed to a another room, where our luggage was spot checked. With nothing found, we were quickly allowed to proceed with our luggage to the waiting Park-N-Cruise shuttle bus. About 9:00am we were in our own car and heading for the airport to get my daughter on her way. In Summary: This time, at a new port, I thought all went well. Using Park-N-Cruise was again a good choice. Good weather and calm seas while sailing added to the enjoyment during our 4 short days of sailing and excursions. To Royal Caribbean -- The boarding process was good at Port Canaveral, even though we were early. The self-disembarking is still the way to go for those that can, although delays continue. I again saw no sign of anyone being sick whatsoever. We had a nice room, without the joining cabin door, and were satisfied with it. We both enjoyed cruising with Royal Caribbean on the Majesty. I still miss the ice cream machines in the buffet area. Read Less

Me and my wife would highly recommend Royal Caribbean “Majesty of The Seas” Our servers treated us very good and they were great with my teenage son and daughter. The activities, the shows were great. The comedy night had everyone in tears. This was my second cruise and this was the best time. The formal night was even better, getting dressed up meeting the captain and taking pictures in the lounge area, and 10 8x 10 pictures for $149 was not a bad deal. Sitting out on the deck and watching other ships go by is a beautiful sight. We went to a private island for BBQ lunch. Me and my family took a private tour into town and learned a lot about the area. Read Less

We chose this cruise because it fit our schedule and seemed to have a good activity base for kids. The check-in went smoothly. I was excited thinking that this was going to be a good experience. Sadly our bathroom floor flooded on the first night when we used our shower. And that wasn't the last time. Each time we used the shower, our floor drain would back up and flood. Our drain was snaked two times. Plumbing was an issue down the hall. There was a stench of sewer at the end of the hall (near a ladies bathroom) all the time. And the staff attempted to cover with an odor eliminator, that only added to the aroma mix. I will say that my son loved the Adventure Ocean (Kids Club). He begged to go up each evening. He was 8. This was his first cruise. My 5th cruise (2nd on Royal Caribbean). I am not sure I will book on Royal Caribbean again. Our experience on the 8th floor of this ship was less than desirable, and Royal Caribbean's response has been less than customer focused. I would avoid the 8th floor if you were really wanting to book this ship for the itinerary/schedule. Our dining staff was amazing. The dining food was ok. The wait staff should not be rated on the food. Read Less

Chose this cruise as a first cruise for our young grandson. He loved the kids adventure camp so it was very successful from that standpoint. Ship has plumbing issues (at least on 8th floor) - showers backing up, drains, gurgling all night, etc. that really detracted from the cruise experience. Ship has only one pool area and that was not sufficient for the number of people on board. Coco Cay offers inflated slides and water activities for children. These are not appropriate for young children. Adults could not accompany the child without paying; the child could not independently access most of the slides and when he tried he fell hard requiring a lifeguard rescue. This is NOT a good plan. Other parents with children under 12 expressed similar frustrations. Nassau is crowded and not very clean. You can pay to access facilities at the Atlantis, which we did, and had a pleasant but expensive day there. Read Less
