Service was great. Entertainment was okay. The ship was small but the largest that Royal can go to Cuba with. Wanted to experience Cuba and meet the people. Was not disappointed. Education is free through University but availability of jobs for a decent wage are slim. The teacher I talked to mentioned they earn about 20 CUCs a month. (Abut $20 in US money). He also mentioned he was not allowed to cruise or leave the island. I asked him about healthcare and he said it was free but they didn’t have medical supplies so it was usually not that helpful. The entertainment on the ship was okay but nothing fantastic. Five night cruise and only 1 really good show. The Royal website described the room as having a bed and couch but that was not the case. Ship was very old, I think 1992. Was dissainted because I bought gift certificates from AARP only to find ou they could only be used on new bookings. Carnival gift cards can be used for OBC. Embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly, but that was it. This trip was advertised 2 days in Cuba, and it was only 1 day. The 2nd day we departed at 5AM. The bar staff overall looked bored and/or angry, the hallways smelled like poop, my stateroom bathroom was moldy and gross, smelled like a public restroom that has never been cleaned. There was glass on the hallway in front of our stateroom and my friend cut her foot with it. Very unsatisfied. Food made me and 3 of my friends sick and overall was below average. Margaritas and cranberry juice tasted like pure chemicals. After that I didn't even feel like trying any of the other mixed drinks. On top of it, the water was yellow one night. The toilet water was yellow and the sink was too, not sure why... don't even wanna know. I called and complained and got 20% off my next cruise, valid for a year... I would not recommend this ship. Many other guests were complaining because they did not have hot water in their stateroom. There were a couple of good things: the shore excursions both in Key West (Parasailing) and in Cuba (Old Car tour) were very good for the price and the staff was amazing. The rock wall climbing staff was very nice and helpful and the shoes were clean and new. Finally, a shout-out to Mario and Maha from Phillippines, our servers, who were very happy and provided great service. Read Less

My best friend and I choose this cruise because we have been wanting to go to Cuba. We both have been on this ship before. I am just going to get to the point. The second day I was showering and noticed the water was coming out the shower. No big deal i thought. step out the shower to find my feet under water. Well the room flooded and into the hallway. Our stateroom attendant was awesome. They brought in this huge blower to dry the floor in the room. Well we leave out for a couple of hours to come back to a room smelling like mildew. We told our attendant we cannot stay in the smelly room. We go and talk to the customer service people and at first they tell us they dont have a room to put us in. Then they blame my friend for the floor still being wet saying she turned the blower off(we weren't in the room). They were so nasty to her i was appalled. Somehow they found a room for us, so we had to pack up all our things and move to the new room. Our new stateroom attendant was so horrible he complained to customer service and had the tips taken off(we gave cash to the 1st attendant). The manager of the floor said he was going to give us 30% off a future cruise within the next year, cool. fast forward 3 weeks later and we got $77 off. This was the worse ship I have ever been on. The dinningroom service wasn't great either. I asked for some crackers to take my meds and they never brought them. But they had soup and crackers. They were lacking in service there too. just simple stuff like I asked for no ice and they bring ice(i am always cold). The guys couldn't even get our names right (kristin and rebecca). The food was just okay, and the waiters didn't listenq when i asked for certain things. To be honest i have sailed many ships with Royal and their customer service has gone down the drain big time. The best part of the cruise was the Havana excursion. we did the Havana bucket list and it was amazing. It is a long excursion but you get to do everything....smoke a cigar, rum tasting, site seeing, dancing and local food. worth the cost. Quick recap... cabin was horrible, service was horrible, dining was meh, excursion was awesome Read Less

We wouldn’t have chosen this ship had it not been the only choice to visit Cuba. It’s 27yo and needs some attention. The most of the crew was extremely enthusiastic and efficient. Our friend’s steward was amazing and thoughtful. Ours was much less than that. There were several times that we returned to our room to find the heat turned as high as possible. There were repairs that needed to be done on other areas of the ship. The steps leading from Windjammer Marketplace to 12th floor had loose carpeting and I would consider them a trip hazard. Several times I noticed the handrails were sticky. My belief was that there should be much more attention paid to the condition of the ship. The food was acceptable, we had room service deliver continental breakfast 3 out of five days. Once the milk and yogurt was warm. I’m not talking about ‘not cold’ but actually warm. But the service was wonderful. Cuba is rich in history. I was amazed at the beauty of the buildings. But so totally saddened that the condition of them is not being cared for. Overall, I think the ship should be retired. Read Less

I sailed on the Majesty of the Seas in December 2018 on the 5 Day Havana Overnight Cruise - and what a disappointment it was. I was so excited about my trip which ended up to be a cruise of sailing up and down the coast of the Florida - so glad a paid for that. While I realize that weather is not anyone's fault but and the safety of the passengers and crew are important, and a change was needed but don't not compensate for getting what you paid for. I paid for two days in Havana and didn't even get one and then just sailed up and down the coast of Florida. I could have booked a beach vacation if that is what I wanted. I could go on and on about the mess this cruise was - I booked an excursion in Havana that was supposed to 9 hours and was only about 8 hours with no explanation as to why. In addition to this there were so many other issues - we left the Port late by about 2 1/2 hrs, with no explanation, and when I reached out to Royal Caribbean about all the issues I find out it was due to the fact that they were loading water onto the ship - don't you think this should be done prior. Not to mention that the rooms on on the small side, we were only two people and were tight in there ( only one person was able to get dressed at a time) I can only imagine if there were more than two people in the room. The ports of call were Key West and Havana and yet we spent most of the time at sea - while sea days are nice on cruises to such close locations all the time at sea is not necessary, While stuck on the ship sailing up and down the coast of Florida, the stench on some the decks was absolutely discussing and with no explanation as to why. In addition some of the lower decks were flooding - which probably caused the stench. The only positive was the crew on the ship ( wait staff, cruise director and entertainment staff) were nice as could be and tried their best.. Even with this the Headliner shows were not the best - two comedians who were not even funny, one was even outright rude and disgusting and one who would not have been funny had it not been for the passenger that was chosen to help out with his act. After all this when I reached out to Royal Caribbean it took almost 2 weeks for someone to get back to me and then they were nasty as anything, Should I ever go on another cruise I will think twice before sailing with Royal Caribbean, Read Less

We are an older couple. It was a celebration of our golden anniversary. The ship's crew made us feel really special. It's a nice ship but a little old. The pool is really small. It has no USB ports but the productions shows and other entertainment are really good, We selected this ship because we wanted to go to Cuba at this time of the year and we do not regret it. The food was delicious. The service is great. I mean starting with embarkation and ending with disembarkation. The crew is very friendly. The service in the dining room and the Windjammer caffe. The cabin steward was very good. We loved the walking tour of Havana. We highly recommend it. .The tour guide was excellent and the tour ended with a visit to a night club where we tasted smoking cigars, drinking rum and drinking coffee. It was great. Read Less

Boarding in Tampa was quick and easy. They were basically waiting on people to check in at about 1:30 when we got there. The cruise director Patricio was fantastic. The live music, not so much. The DJ was great at the pool but then sometimes a band would play and it was essentially "island music" background music from a keyboard. They didn't really sing and certainly did not get the crowd into it. The band name was something like Umba. All of the activities like trivia, belly flop contest and karaoke were all awesome. Dinner in the dining room was fine. As usual, they are slow on bringing bar drinks and soda so its always better to fill before you go in. Especially slow for soda at breakfast. The couple times we ate in the Windjammer it was kinda cold. It would have been nice if there were more freestyle soda machines (there is one on 4 and one on 12 I think it was). The ports were fantastic. Key West was fun (we took the Hop On Hop Off trolley). It was Fantasy Fest!! Havana was amazing and quite an experience. It took about half hour to get through immigration. We exchanged $180 ($65 CUC was for our tour) and we did not have enough for souvenirs after lunch and giving various tips and buying a couple things in the City so we had to scramble at the port to exchange more money. My advice is to exchange well more than you think and then just exchange any you don't need back. There are plenty of tellers to exchange back when you are ready to go back on the ship. In Cozumel we did the semi sub reef explorer which was worth the money, and then we took a taxi to Money Bar to snorkel and hang out. This was a great trip. Yes the ship is old and yes the rooms are small, but you're on vacation! Read Less

I have cruised with both Royal Caribbean and Carnival, and by far, you are treated better on Royal Caribbean than you are on Carnival. We also chose Royal Caribbean because their ships are amazing, luxurious and the overall experiences are memorable. Although this has nothing to do with the cruise line, one thing I will not do is get another small room, I will stick to suites as you get your dollars worth. The food and dining with Royal is absolutely amazing. The food options are never ending, and the service during dining is absolutely on point as you are treated by staff who genuinely care and are happy to be there. The one things I would really like to see more on the smaller ships are 24 hour sodas, ice cream and pizza. A cruise is supposed to be memorable in every phase, so having these 24 hours just like the larger ships, would make a huge difference. Pretty basic to be the only things I would recommend Royal changing. Read Less

We wanted a short, but quality, itinerary and this: Tampa, Key West, Havana cruise was perfect. The Majesty of The Seas is an old (25) ship with the majority of rooms enclosed or interior. The ship is well maintained. There was a chronic sewer odor on deck 4 forward, port side. Fans were in the hallway. The crew and staff provide excellent service throughout. Boarding, shore excursions, and debarkation were efficient. The food in all venues is below average for cruise vessels(7) that I have been on. The entertainment was only fair, but enthusiastic. This short, inexpensive cruise had an interesting clientele. Most were fine, but several were "R" rated. Solicitation to buy drinks and merchandise on the decks, common areas and on TV was constant but not obnoxious. The ship is easy to get around on, and the elevators were fast, but crowded. We had light 1 to 1.5 meter seas and the ship wallowed side to side. Read Less

This was my 5th cruise, 2nd RC cruise, and 1st time on the Majesty of the seas. A lot of the other reviews really make the ship and crew not seem so good, but my personal experience was fine. Check-in: Yes, you have to stand in the normal line that you always stand in when you get on any cruise. Only about 10mins. We had an extra step to take since we went to Cuba on this cruise, but the guy who checked us in (Steve) was very knowledgeable and helpful. Even gave us some tips for the Cuba stop (bring your own toilet paper...seriously). After that, we snapped 2 pics in front of the backdrops and we were on the ship! We got on the ship around noon. The rooms were available to go into at 130pm. The Ship: Not as grand as other ships when you first get on, but I have never been on one of the big magical ships. There was a great band that played amazing latin music in the main lobby area, and it was a nice start. My friend and I spent our time touring the ship just to get a feel of the layout. We passed by the spa/gym area, where the masseuses were waiting to give you a free sample of the services they provided. That was much needed after our flight from DC. Hot stone, bamboo and a general massage was provided (only about 10 mins) and they gave us all of the materials in case we wanted to book something. We then went up to the upper decks. Unfortunately, this ship does not have a solarium, like other ships, so there was 4 hot tubs, and 2 pool areas that were shared by children and adults. Great pool bars. The boleros bar was our go-to bar during our time on the ship. Douglas and Andee were phenomenal bartenders (get a frozen mojito...amazing.) Schooners was more for the older crowd (45+), in my opinion. Great gym, nice walking trail on the 7th deck. The Food: First, Sorrento's pizza.....BEST PIZZA IVE HAD ON ANY SHIP!! Always hot and tasty. I'm from NJ/NY, so I know good pizza, and this was pretty good. Asked for a whole pizza to take to our room, and they provided one without any questions. The Windjammer was what we had for dinner the first 3 nights. They provided a nice variety of food. The carving stations had great selections each of those nights. Cruise food is cruise food, so don't get super high hopes of 5 star food. Its not super amazing, but its tasty food. The Deli is a great place to bring your windjammer food, for a quiet area to dine. They also have some tasty food up there too! The smoked potato soup was pretty yummy, ate that a few times the day it was served. We ate in the dining room once (skipped the fancy night), and it was the same as any other cruise I have been on. Good service, nice servers, food was tasty (again, not amazing). Keep in mind, you can order as much off of the menu as you want. You are not restricted to 1 app, 1 entrée and 1 dessert. We actually both ate dessert there, and got one to go for the room. The Cabin: We stayed in Room 4003. Front of the ship, interior cabin. The room has PLENTY of space for 2 people. The beds were split and there was a built-in nightstand between them. There was also a vanity with a stool in the room. The bathroom was a cruise ship bathroom. Nothing fabulous about it. Unless you are in a suite, please don't have super high expectations. The rooms are like 150sqft. I am an average height, 170lbs, and was able to get around the cabin and bathroom comfortably. The Entertainment: We didn't do too much of the ships entertainment. Relaxed up on the pool deck a lot and watched the movies and sipped on cocktails. We did catch the love and marriage show, which is ALWAYS a good time. We participated in some of the trivia shows in the boleros lounge, which was also a good time. I was one of the winners of the Michael Jackson trivia games, and the prize was an RC highlighter, but it was about the fun, not the prize. The dance clubs opened way too late for us to make it any of the nights. That seems to be consistent across all of the ships. The Ports: The first port was Key West. Pulled up right to the dock, and was able to walk right into town. We purchased the pub crawl excursion, and went on our merry way. Key west was a fun time. You could easily have fun there without buying an excursion. There are bike and moped rentals everywhere, and bars and food places everywhere. The 2nd stop was Havana. ADVICE: Go to the Cuba information session the day before you get there. There is soooooo much valuable info that they give there, and its worth the time. The day you get there, and if you have an excursion, you will have to go to the big show room, and get a sticker to put on, to coordinate with your excursion group (if you got an RC excursion). That process takes a little bit of time because the visa process is involved. They call you group by group to get off the ship and to go through customs. Took about 30-40mins to get off the boat, go through customs and get to the excursion guide person. ADVICE: GET CUCs (Cuban Cash). They strongly encourage this during the Cuba info session as well. A lot of the places DO NOT take US cash or credit. And if they do take cash, they add a high percentage to it because they have to exchange it. MORE ADVICE: Whatever you do get in CUCs, try to use all of it! They charge 13% to exchange your CUCs back to US dollars. We purchased the Aromas Cigar tour. They took us on a bus to a cigar factory, then to a restaurant where we paired cigars and coffee and rum together. Then we went to a large flea market of sorts, where we were able to buy gifts/souveneirs. I am a big negotiator, and was able to do that there with no problems. Cuba is not as amazing as the pictures make it seem (in my opinion). We were also there right before Hurricane Mike hit, which may have had some affect on the day. It was wet and rainy at times. I would go back, but just to a different port. There were no beach-like excursions. MY ADVICE: If you are able to drink 5 cocktails/beers/wine in one day, GET THE DRINK PACKAGE!!! It may seem pricey, but its sooo worth it. All the alcoholic beverages, sodas, STARBUCKS (yes, for real), bottled water, sparkling water is included. All in all, the ship is slightly older, but the way other reviews are describing the ship is not accurate. If you are a cruiser, expect the normal cruise accommodations. This trip in particular was super rocky because of the hurricane. The Captain was able to re-route us to put us behind the storm so that we would be on more calm waters, which I commend him for doing for us. Being in the front of the boat meant that we felt it more, but I took is as getting rocked to sleep lol. Hope this helps alleviate any decisions about taking a trip on this ship. Read Less

Like most people, we decided on this particular cruise for the opportunity to visit Cuba. This is now my 6th cruise (2 Carnival, 2 RC, 2 Disney). We knew going in that this ship was the smallest of the fleet and did not have all the bells and whistles and tech of the newer mega ships, however for a 4 night cruise where the destination is the main draw Majesty was more than adequate and accommodating. Despite many of the reviews on here of "an old and tired ship" and "terrible food/stay clear of the fish" our experience was quite the opposite. The ship is in great shape for being 26 years old, and very clean. The service on-board was as good as any other cruise I have been on, there were enough activities for a 4 night cruise with one day at sea, we were never bored or felt we did not have something to do. The theater shows were very well done, and yes they are of generally 60s/70s music but the production was very good and the performers were very talented. The comedian (Chris Bliss) was great as well. The food on-board was good to very good. Dinner options were not as diverse as I would like however and lobster tail was a $29 up charge. I had fish twice while on this ship, once for dinner (swordfish-was excellent) and once in the windjammer buffet (baked fish-was good). The pizza at Sorento's was very good. Johnny Rockets we had for lunch on our day at sea and was okay I guess, I wouldn't go again as it is $9.95. We did a couples massage on day 3 after Cuba and it was incredible, they advertised $129 per person for 50 minutes I believe but they will knock of $30 if you ask. As far as the ports of call: Key West was lovely, make sure to beeline it for the southernmost point marker for photos because a line does form. Drinks at Sloppy Joe's were awesome. There is a free trolly tour available. CUBA! our day in Cuba started by lining up at the theater with our excursion tour, we were led out in a line to go through customs (which was interesting!) overall pretty easy but about a 45 minute wait to get from ship to Cuban soil. We did Royal Caribbean's Havana walking tour, It started out with a 15 minute bus ride through old Havana driving by many sights and historical locations. We stopped first at a place called "Salon Rojo" which is a night club of all places, there they had arranged Cuban cigar lessons with Mojitos, Havana Club rum and Cafe con leche. We were there for about 45 minutes and for me this was the highlight of the tour as it was totally unexpected and felt very authentic. Afterwards we took the bus for another 10 minutes to another location got out and started the walking tour going through many plazas, squares and beautiful architectural locations. There were a few negatives for us in Cuba: one was the beggars on the streets: I was grabbed by my arm several times by woman in Cuban dance costumes to get me to want to take a picture with them for tips, we were hassled by men playing guitar who felt that if they came close to you and started playing/singing you were obligated to tip them, we were also annoyed by men drawing/sketching pictures of us unbeknownst to us and coming up trying to guilt us into buying them. The other negative to Cuba was our tour itself: never was there an opportunity to get something to eat, and speaking of eating in Cuba- DO NOT DO IT! - Our guide at the end of our tour (when we were absolutely starving) advised us that if we chose to eat in Cuba to make sure our lunch was at least $20, if we were to only pay $7-$10 for lunch than they probably did not use sterile water and the food may make us sick! Our reaction was "well what if they sell us $7 food for $20???? Needless to say we rushed back to the ship asap to eat on-board. We did NOT convert currency at all and spent money in 3 locations in Cuba, all took USD at the correct conversion rate. Overall Cuba was visually stunning in many ways and totally worth the trip. The ship has a great crew (besides the Bingo host with the lisp who WILL NOT STOP TALKING) the food was very good and we had a blast. Do not hesitate to go to Cuba on Majesty- Ryan and Shaloni. Chose this one because one of the stops was Cuba. And being able to visit there after all of these years is historical. The trip to the Keys was beautiful. It walking around Cuba was so interesting. The only complaint I had was the meal we had in Cuba on the tour, it was awful...the only bad meal I had on the whole cruise. The food on board was great and there was a lot of it. We ate every night in the dining room because it was always an adventure. The two people who were our wait help every night Paying and Huijun Wei, spoiled us. They catered to every need we had. They called us by name, even when we saw them else where during the cruise. We went with another couple and we all decided we would definitely take another for a longer period of time. My family has been consistently traveling with Carnival Cruise Lines since it was always more affordable traveling with 4 boys. We decided to take advantage of the Royal Caribbean Cruise (RC) to Havana, Cuba. Although a little more expensive than our previous cruise adventures we quickly began to realize the advantages that RC provided. The first thing we always always do is head to the buffett and inspect the layout with our eyes and our mouths. We immediately realized the choices and the more importantly the quality of the food already surpassed that of other cruise lines we have been on (Not just Carnival). I can’t begin to describe the crew members at the Windjammer Cafe. I was completely impressed with the happy faces and professionalism from everyone. If you walked in with a confused look on your face on what to do someone would approach you and walk you through the buffet selection. There were definitely more selection of various foods to choose from. I actually sampled small portions of each station and did not duplicate once over the 4 days I travelled. The crew members were very friendly and always ready to help or provide assistance with anything we needed. Other details we appreciated was the spacious, bright dining area, buffet and poolside areas. Overall we were pleased with the Majesty of the Seas for being one of the older ships in RC fleet. My wife and I had accidentally wondered into the Viking Crown Lounge (Deck 14) when we first boarded and one of the passengers made it clear we were in the wrong area. Vernon came out of no where and greeted us and made us feel welcome. Vernon was the coordinator for the Viking Crown Lounge and explained the amenities and how we could benefit from accumulated cruise credits and the perks that come with them (Similar to Carnival Cruise credit rewards). Because of Vernon turning around an almost bitter situation, when we came across the “Book your next Cruise” center, we went on to take advantage of booking our Alaska 7 day cruise for next May. Our cabin was smaller than anticipated and did not have adequate space for our luggage. We had to open our luggage on the floor and live out of that. Carnival has a laundry room that provides irons but there was no such amenity on the Majesty. I had to pay for my shirts top be pressed. (Not a big deal). Our room steward was very friendly and made sure to keep our room clean and fresh. Whatever we needed he was very accommodating and made sure we didn’t haven any issues. If you can I highly recommend staying away from Deck 2 forward cabins (We were in cabin 2615) if you are an early to bed person. We were a couple decks below the main atrium floor (Centrum). Around 9pm there was extremely loud stomping and noise above us as happy passengers were learning to line dance or learning the basic latin dance steps. This kept us up for a couple hours. Instead of complaining we decided to go up and join in the fun, which we definitely did not regret. Of all the bars we frequented our favorite was Boleros because most of the time it was quiet and relaxing and gave us the opportunity to get more acquainted with Jack and Phillip. Both bar tenders worked as a team and made our drinks on point. It was great because we knew we could always head to Boleros to get away from all the excitement and activities for nice quiet time to relax and have one on one conversations. My wife got her hair braided for $5 at the onboard spa, which according to her was unheard of because she expected to pay 5 times that amount. She was very pleased with this. So much so that I decided to get the traditional manicure (A first for me). That came out to $34 but my wife thought that was a bit pricy. Overall we did enjoy these services from the Spa staff. Our dining experience was absolutely incredible. Table 460 - Selvino and Huijuan Wei (Angela) were magnificent. They went into detail describing the menu items and actually provided the best meals to pair with the wines we brought onboard. Paying attention to detail and taking a dining experience to the next level was demonstrated when Selvino recommended the Tiger Shrimp dinner then went on to explain the reason the shrimp is not de shelled was in order to infuse the flavors from the bitter sauce. Selvino completely surprised me when he came back and with knife and fork de shelled each and every shrimp for me. THAT went above and beyond his pay grade and spoke volumes to his experience. Huijuan stood by our table and made sure nobody’s glass was empty and efficiently removed our plates without disturbing us. Chorus Line The entertainment was so great with the singers and dancers belting out songs from the 70s and 80s brining back memories of songs and times remembered way back when. Finally, the comedian AJ was the high light of the evening. We could not stop laughing as he started his jokes engaging the audience and throwing not only himself under the bus but graciously included his beautiful wife in his dialogue which was great clean amusement. We first got a taste of his PG rated session where he brought old and young guests on stage and playfully had them dancing and gyrating to everyone’s amusement. His adult rated show we thought would be full of vulgar, rude language or passenger bashing attacks but AJ came out shining like a super star with his slap stick, impromptu comedy. He was able to make use all laugh without bringing politics insults or any kind of profiling to make the audience give him a standing ovation. My wife and I were so excited to learn we were on the same deck as AJ and although I did not want to bother approaching him and getting into his space I had to tell him how genuine he was. He was very approachable and we actually struck up a conversation which I did not expect. Majesty of the Seas, I have to say overall on a scale from 1-10, we give you 10+ because of the small details I mentioned above. We are now converts to RC and are now looking forward to quickly racking up our points so we can go back to the Viking Crown Lounge and actually greet new members to RC with welcoming arms and tell them all the benefits there are to experience on Royal Caribbean Cruise. So be prepared to have non working toilets and odors in your room. The electrical plug was not working properly. It is a wreck of a ship. They changed our sitting for dinner without our knowledge or approval from 8:00PM to 5:30PM. So on the ports of call we had to make a choice to spend extra hours to visit or come back to the boat to have our dinner. When we complained they told us that the late seating is all booked. The cruse line corporate offices don't seem to give a damn about their clients so do not expect any service from them. There is always money grabs such as a $75.00 per person visa for Cuba, $14,00 cocktails with a 25% tip which you can't take off the bill at the end of the cruise.. Overall this ship should be in a scrapyard but given that probably the ship has been paid already by corporate they are still keeping it going despite its shortcomings. So buyer be aware!!!!! My husband and I had a wonderful trip to Havana and Cozumel. The boarding process was quick, members mostly friendly. Our jr suite was exceptional for an older ship in decor and cleanliness. The main dining room food was good but nothing special. The wait staff was excellent. The Windjammer food was fresh and delicious each day. Not the same old stuff over and over. Excellent service too. The only complaint was the coke machine only in 1 place on the ship and we had to walk up a flight of stairs to get to it...odd. Our unlimited water was mostly always served hot. They need to work on this too. We paid $$ for this service. The entertainment comedy shows were hilarious! The orchestra was excellent but dancers were lacking. Our excursion to the Tropicana in Havana was enjoyed as was the air conditioned motercoach. The guided car ride and tour was excellent. So much history. We always enjoy Cozumel but just shopped this trip at our lecture. Read Less

i have never in my life experienced such an outstanding crew aboard any ship as I have on the Majesty of the Seas this week. every single person was so polite, warm, welcoming and helpful. the ship looks great for its age, the cabins were definitely small but completely manageable if you stay clean and organized throughout the trip, the food options in the buffet were awesome and the main dining room was simply great. the shows on board were a bit lame and cheesy apart from the late night comedian michele balan. havana was insanely cool and cozumel was a bit of a let down but mainly my fault because i was going for crystal clear waters and tropical fish vibes without realizing i was there during "seaweed season" so the water was mehh. but then again i do live in clearwater beach so my standards are relatively high. what was a mehh beach experience for me might very well be a mesmerizing beach experience for some. finding a place on the upper deck to tan in the early afternoon was near impossible. there are signs about not leaving your towel places to reserve your spot but its definitely still a thing. at one point i contemplated throwing some absent person's towel overboard and just playing dumb when they eventually came back. worth a thought! I have never been to Havana. I wanted short cruise out of Tampa with girl friends. We loved our waiter Vladyslav and his assistant waiter Muhammed. Food was great. We did The Chef's Table event one night and the food and wine was fantastic. The Chef and waiter were wonderful. We really enjoyed the entertainment. Entertainer Hopper from Las Vegas was great. We actually like jim so much we went back to his second show. We went down to the Schooner lounge to hear music at night. We loved Wayne Gilbert and went to see him 3 time and also Pedro. Also we went to the other lounge that starts with "B" and our server could not have been nicer. He introduced us the Joseph or Josua who told us about the Chef's Table event. We enjoyed the buffet for breakfast and the servers could not be more helpful and always had a smile for us. We did think the mixed drinks were kind of expensive though. The Ship was very nice and overall it was a great cruise!! Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the Cuba portion of the trip. However, the entire staff of the ship surprised us with their great service. Our stateroom attendant was efficient and friendly. Our wait staff in the Starlight dining room was superb and the menu choices were delicious. The Windjammer buffet was convenient for breakfast but we ate lunch and dinner in the main dining room. The guest services and activities staff was full of enthusiasm and always helpful. We enjoyed the karaoke, trivia, bingo, comedy and singing/dancing performances. Even the live sports in the Schooner bar were entertaining. Embarkation was easy and lines were manageable. Disembarking in Key West was a long line for self-tours because there is a shuttle that must take you off the Navy Port where it docks. I would recommend booking a tour through Royal Caribbean because there lines were much shorter. We booked a tour through RC for our Cuba portion and the wait was still about 45 minutes but was well organized. The 4-hour Easy Panoramic Tour was interesting and historic but there was no where to buy food, so come prepared with bottled water and snacks. Our cabin was a good size and although the rooms could use a decor update from the 90's, it was clean and well-maintained. This ship is good for adults and teens but does not have as many activities for small children as a young family might need. We also recommend the Backstage All Access Tour. It was really cool to see the galley, lower decks, the bridge, and be able to hear directly from the supervisors of each section of the ship. Read Less

+I had never been on a cruise before let alone out of the United States of America. I chose this exciting cruise because of a combined decision among family members. The ship is not even the biggest ship offered, yet is still really large! The state rooms were very clean and the staff members were lovely. Most of my meals were held at the Marketplace. The food had many options- some the same every day but definitely enough variety for me to enjoy the experience and not feel like I am eating the same thing every day. -There were two fires while I was on this ship. One was at 3am. This consisted of staff members and the captain over the loud speaker at 3 o clock in the morning. The way the staff handled the situation was great, however a fire in the incinerator at 3am is not always the best wake up call. The second fire had to do with the A/C units. I don't know how far the A/C outage occurred, but me and my floor did not have air conditioning for a night & half the next day. The last negative I have is that the bathroom toilet in my state room randomly did not have water flowing in it and would refuse to flush. This is gross and not acceptable for obvious reasons. Very good service, clean and very friendly environment . We where 3 people very happy the all time, my daughter, my son in lawn and I, we took the excursions with the cruise and by our own , must of the excursions was on time and very good planned and organized . The food at dinner was every day amazing, very delicious and the best service with the waiter Evan our favorite , and Jose that maintain our suite clean and fresh the all time . Very satisfactory experience, Cuba gave us a taste from 1950 with the beautiful cars and friendly people and Cozumel Mexico I can put in words how fantastic is their beaches and the people are very respectful and friendly, also safe and clean environment . One of the best place that I visited, I’ll recommend my friends and family to travel using our Royal Caribbean and enjoy like we did . Read Less

Have been on multiple cruises to the Caribbean and thought Cuba would be different. The Majesty of the Seas is a smaller ship than all of our other cruises and is overdue for refurbishment. That being said, the ship itself was a pleasant experience. The cabin, though small, was clean and comfortable and the cabin stewards were excellent. The service throughout the ship and the food was excellent. Entertainment was mediocre. Limited offerings for anyone not interested in pool activities, bars, or casino included enrichment lectures, movies, trivia, and game shows. Key West is an excellent port of call. The town has a great feel to it, the people are wonderful, and there is plenty to see and do. In Havana, we took a RC sponsored bus tour. The bus was modern, adequately air conditioned, and comfortable but the toilet did not flush. The tour guide touted the communist party line of information but was pleasant and accommodating. Havana itself, I would say, is not ready for tourists. The city is dilapidated, showing the 60 years of neglect. The prices were high, the $75 visa is a ripoff, and there is an 10% additional fee for exchanging dollars to Cuban pesos and pesos to US Dollars! I would not recommend Cuba as a port of call.
