The ship appearance, crew attitude, pianist performance were great. The theater we visited once. There were long lines to get in.
We were not too impressed with the variety of food in the cafeteria (World cafe). They also did not extend lunch beyond 2:30 on port days, so you missed the main lunch then. The hamburger counter had to be used instead if you took an excursion.
The included ...
Just got back from a week long cruise on Oceania regatta and wanted to share my opinions/ experience of the ship/cruise line vs Silversea for those that are interested in seeing a comparison.
It was 19 years ago when we last cruised on the Regatta which was our first Oceania ship. I would have to say that Oceania did a wonderful job refurbishing this ship, so if all the other R size ships ...
This was our first experience sailing with Oceania. Overall, it was very enjoyable with a few minor problems I’ll outline later.
Here are the positive points.
Check in was a breeze. We arrived about 2:30pm and were immediately accompanied to the empty immigration and security areas. A few minutes later we boarded and checked in the quiet Insignia Lounge (again zero people waiting) and were ...
We chose Oceania based on their culinary record, service and small size. We have previously cruised on Viking and love their modern ships. R class ships have been beautifully refurbished. We had sailed on Azamara Quest - a similar ship from Renaissance cruises. We joined the last segment of ATW cruise which began in San Francisco on January 2023! While a majority of the ship had been together ...
This was our first cruise with Oceania. We have sailed many other lines before, but this was the smallest, most luxury ship we have sailed, and there were things we loved and things we didn't. We had a Concierge balcony.
First, the service on this ship was amazing. Everyone went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed/wanted. This was one of the highlights of the cruise. ...
First time on Oceania. Picked the cruise for the itinerary. We had been to New Zealand and the South Pacific before and wanted to see a few more islands. Unfortunately, coronavirus concerns by the island governments forced the ship to cancel Mare Island, Samoa, American Samoa and Huahine. No new ports were added, just longer stays in Nomnea and Papeete. Spent a couple extra days at sea, but I ...
I selected Oceania because I liked the cruise itinerary. Being this was my first cruise with Oceana I was pleasantly surprised how friendly and helpful the staff was during the entire cruise. The stateroom attendant, Joy, was amazing. Her name fitted her personality because she always greeted me and had a smile on her face. From the staff member scrubbing the decks to the Captain, I found ...
We sailed from Hawaii to japan 15 days approx. 65 passengers .
This Cruise which is about 15th was one of the best .
Great Food
Great service (with exception to the Butler bad)
Fantastic mix of travellers
We had 4 days of rough sea's but no one really bothered .I was cruising alone and met a fantastic group of people which we met each day for lunch and Dinner with Cocktails in the ...
After a pretty dismal ride on the Silver Cloud on one of its last cruises prior to refit, it was a pleasure to be on board the Shadow where most things 'worked'. The staterooms are still a little dated, think Italian hotel about 1992, but bathrooms have been smartly updated, and the ship was definitely comfortable with only 302 guests on board - it was a cruise with a low single supplement so not ...
wanted to try the smaller ship to compare to the mega ships I had been on. The suite was very large 500 sq ft; beautiful; butler was excellent. Food very good. Room service was quite fast. However, I like dinner around 6pm or so and the show around 8 Their show times were 10 pm with dinner at 8p. This was way too late for me and several others I talked to. Lecturers were very good on ...
