We were on the Regatta from Australia to New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa x 2 and French Polynesia. My feedback is as follows:
1. Staff - very friendly and generally eager to please. However, tend to be a number who lack training, so service is variable.
2. Cabins - please don't pretend they are state rooms, it insults the passengers! Generally basic, but good enough, but shower area is tiny. Bigger ...
My husband and I wanted a romantic getaway and Oceana was advertised about being luxury and amazing food. After several other cruises we thought we would give it a go thinking it could be right for us...
1. Food was not amazing. We had about 50% success rate with the meals. A few were very good. They are catering to an older crowd and not a foodie crowd.
2. Older crowd is the focus 75+ ...
We love cruising. This was our 21st cruise and first on Regent. It was our 3rd cruise this year also. Our room was on the 6th floor. When we arrived we found it was at the end of the hall and out a door which lead to the wellness center. Our room was the only one out there and was between 2 fire doors. People going to work out had two doors slamming all the time. Even 4 am. We went to take a ...
We chose it because of Ravings about O’s food. 1. -The buffet always had a better variety than the MDR and the food was usually ok although the chef seems to fear spice. We were expecting food like the photos online..nope, unless you were in a specialty restaurant. + No charge for these, must make reservations. + room service was great… Food and service top notch in room service. + Lobster is ...
We are disappointed in almost every respect. The food is probably the worst. Dining hours often do not correspond in any useful way with the excursion hours. The menu is beautifully written up, but the food poorly prepared. For example, we have twice been served fish so over cooked we have just about needed a knife to saw through it. Pastries meet a typical supermarket standard. Breakfast sausages ...
Like several other reviewers, we had sailed with Oceania on 5 occasions before the "pandemic" and rebooked based on those experiences.
This is clearly a company where the dead hand of remote corporate policy wonks is at work, setting procedures and practices on the ships with absolutely no clue of what going on at the operational, customer facing level. Penny pinching ad nauseum.
This was an ...
We sailed on the Regatta, round trip Los Angeles, on April 24. It was our first cruise on Oceania and we were looking forward to trying a new cruise line. Here is my long review.
Our overall impression is that the Regatta has great cuisine, as promised, but it is let down by other areas. The osso buco and carbonara in Toscana and beef bourguignon were some of the best meals on a cruise ship, ...
I've been on several Seabourn cruises in the past (this cruise put me over 100 days sailed with them) and while no cruise was perfect Seabourn in the past has been the best - for me. I like re positioning cruises (they tend to have a lot of sea days and I enjoy sea days). I saw one on the Sojourn going from Kobe to Vancouver. Bonus - its a short flight from Vancouver to San Francisco so I'd ...
Summary:
Beautiful ship.
Disappointing experience.

Just got back from 22 day cruise on Cunard's Queen Elizabeth from San Francisco to Hawaii, Bora Bora, Tahiti, New Zealand, Sydney, returning home to San Francisco via 13 hour Quantas flight.
It was our 20th wedding anniversary and I wanted to do something special for my wife.
Especially since we had planned a Tahiti ...
On our first Silver Sea cruise aboard Silver Shadow on September 7, 2017 (Anchorage to Tokyo), we encountered a plethora of stupid mistakes and errors, starting with the initial booking with the Fort Lauderdale office. Not only did we receive a confirmation booking in someone else’s name which was followed by the sales rep requiring us to produce a doctor’s letter (Fit to Travel) from husband’s ...
