Not Up to Oceania Standards

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Insignia

We had food not prepared correctly and some almost raw in Polo In Toscanna they even forgot our bread and we canceled our last reservations in those two venues. Service was slow in the Terrace sometimes as long as 20 min. Signature sandwiches (ex: Pannini) were not prepared correctly in Waves. We only had quality meals in the Grand Dining Room. With welding on deck 10 and 11 for almost two ...

Wind Star Legend - A total nightmare

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Star Legend

What can corporate Windstar be thinking? Just got off the Star Legend, the most dangerous and old ship I have ever sailed on in 30 cruises. No safety signs (even for wet paint and varnish), tenders don't work, people are expected to climb dozens of stairs to tenders and hop onto poorly parked and operated tenders - both of which are now broken - and rubber dingies. A nice but in some cases ...

Underwhelming Food

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Silver Spirit

Having recently cruised on Oceania we were expecting high quality food on Silver Spirit- regrettably that was not the case. Dinner service was extremely slow and food quality was mediocre at best. Food preparation was marginal (uncooked meat...) Only Buffet service was breakfast and the specialty restaurants that we tried were unimpressive. The Butler service is a mislabeling - cabin steward ...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Riviera

Very disappointed in this cruise. The ship is wonderful, the crew was very effective - if not the best I have ever seen, but I was very disappointed in being turned away from Bemuda due to a "norovirus" outbreak. No compensation was ever offered for the extra time at sea, even upon request. It turns out that 70 passengers and 10 crew were sick....but does that mean they had norovirus, or were ...

NEVER AGAIN!!!! Going back to Windstar !

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Star Clipper

We were so excited for this trip on Star Clipper. What an adventure it was going to be. Well a disappointment it turned out to be. The ship and the sailing experience was really amazing and that is where the positive stops.... staff does not make any effort to make the experience special in any way. The Cruise director ridicules and belittles passengers in front of everyone. The staff bicker and ...

QM2 - Never ever again

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

We have just returned from the Caribbean Christmas and New Year’s cruise and can only say we were very disappointed. This had been out tenth cruise with Cunard on all of their three ships and can honestly say their standards have not only slipped, but slid quite away. The daily activities was virtually none existent, take the bridge classes, Spa Ranch, pub quiz, bingo and minority group meetings ...

Seadream I - a dream turned into a Sewage smell Cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on SeaDream I

Seadream was a dream for us - we found it in 2008 and now in 2012 we found the right combo of airline tickets and Seadream Cruise to our dream destinations. We were very excited, and we also made sure Seadream was informed about food allergies. This was not a problem we were told, and I am happy to write that it was not a problem for us. However one passenger had nut allergy and suffered an ...

Royal Cipper - Be Aware and Beware

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Royal Clipper

User Avatar

First Time Cruiser • Age 70s

Our expectations were high as we left our comfortable Barbados hotel after four nights to join the Royal Clipper. We should have stayed in Barbados. Something seemed odd that we could only board a ship which had docked at 7am after 4pm, but of course that relieved the cruise line of serving lunch. We then had to fill out a health form and have our temperature taken, a perfectly reasonable request. ...
