A little background first…… We, like most of the world, we’re anxious to get out and explore after 16 months of lockdown! We chose to go on Windstar because the itinerary only included one port we had been to before (Tortola/Virgin Gorda.) Unfortunately shortly before our sail date we were notified the itinerary had completely changed. Our new itinerary was Barbados, Antigua and St.Lucia. All ...
I have been on this ship before and enjoyed it. The cabins spacious, the food excellent, entertainment not the best, but OK and the staff so courteous and helpful.
On the 2nd port this time we were put into lockdown in our cabins while a patient results were awaited and unfortunately he was positive for Covid-19 15 March 2020
End of cruise holiday.
Food is excellent ...
Oceania Riviera Cruise – Caribbean Feb. 4 – Feb. 14, 2020
Why this cruise?
Out of our 41 ocean cruises, we had done 8 on Oceania vessels, and greatly enjoyed their small size, excellent food and general high quality of service; as well as good itineraries. Riviera is the same size as Oceana Marina, with 1250 passengers, and about twice the size of the four other ships in their fleet. But we ...
We have had excellent trips on Oceania and were on the Riviera three years ago. We had particularly enjoyed the food and the very excellent service from a dedicated and well trained staff so we eagerly chose Oceania/Riviera again. Unfortunately, Oceania had been bought over by NCL recently and the change in management was very evident. The food was still very good to excellent, the cabin ...
We've traveled on Oceania in the past and wanted to try one of the smaller ships - hence, the Sirena. The ship is lovely, after the recent renovations, but is not for everyone. The cabins are quite nice- the bathroom is not - it's sooo tiny,,,and the shower - well, let's just day it''s a challenge. One wonders why they were not enlarged...The itineraries seem port-intensive, which is a good ...
We chose Seabourn having traveled with them before. As always the staff were delightfulm friendly, helpful and efficient. Our cabin was clean, spacious and well provided minibar was continually restocked. The food on board was generally superb. We ate mostly in the main dining room for dinner, Colonnade for breakfast and pool bar for snack lunch. Othee options available all the time. Simple ...
Embarked in Barbados after a 3-day visit to that pleasant but (to me) mildly dull island. Embarkation was so easy we weren't sure if we were done (!) and cabin was available immediately. Our butler Daniel has helped me understand the point of a butler on a cruise ship (on prior ships we never saw them, didn't see the point) - eg. he polished my husband's shoes without us asking and found him a ...
Having done several cruises in the Caribbean, my husband desperately wanted to visit the ABC-islands with Princess Cruises. Since they could not confirm a fixed stateroom for a back-to-back cruise, we ended up choosing Oceania cruises for the first time.
We usually book our vacation one year ahead. Needless to say we were excited, after seeing all the videos and information on the internet, ...
We chose Victoria again as it was going to Rio de Janeiro including a long trip along the Amazon. We started from Southampton and flew back from Rio. The ship carried on finally returning to Southampton. On board all food in the Britannia, Lido and Verandah restaurants was excellent. Staff service in all areas was also excellent. The ship's condition was very good overall and for those yet to ...
Chose cruise for its all inclusive features. No worry about WiFi charges, drink charges, etc.
Thought the food was excellent, especially the no-res needed Italian Setti Marie. The expansive pool side grill offered many choices in addition to usual burger/hot dog items.
Gym was really nice, stretching across the ship’s beam at the stern. All equipment working and clean.
Jogging track ...
