We chose this cruise as a 70 birthday present to each other. 26 night cruise including the Amazon. Booked a conceige cabin, so had a pre- cruise hotel. Lovely room but stuck in a residential area, long queue to check and poor luke warm breakfast. Never had such a long wait to board, even had a wait to even join the queue. The poorest standard cabin, I have had on a cruise ship. Cracked, chipped ...
We chose this cruise because of the itinerary to the Amazon and because we had been on a fantastic cruise on the Regent Explorer last fall. There was no comparison between the 2 experiences and we brought another couple with us on the Voyager after telling them how great Regent is! The cabins & public spaces on the Voyager need to be completely redone but really I think Regent should just sell ...
It is hard to compared cruise companies, especially if the itineraries are quite different, but it seems that comparisons between SilverSeas and Regent Seven Seas makes sense. They are both considered Ultra Luxury. We have sailed several times on Silver Seas and have been quite happy. We chose Regent for this trip because of time and itinerary. Relative to SilverSeas, Regent was as or somewhat ...
We like the smaller boats, 800 guests or less, that cater to people looking for comfortable rooms, good service, fun destinations, and great dining. Many reviews give Oceania high marks in this regard and we to compare them with our regular cruise line of choice.
Our room with balcony, although smaller than our norm, was comfortable, well laid out with adequate storage, clean and well ...
When we arrived at Barbados there was chaos with the ground agents who didn’t seem to know who was going to which hotel for the first night stay. Luggage was being put into various vans and guests were put on minibuses and after quite a while we set off for the hotel. We were concerned about the luggage as on a previous Regent cruise our luggage had been lost!
We arrived at the Accra Beach ...
Dining rooms had repetitive menus for five months, the two specialty restaurants Prime 7 & Chartreuse never changed the menus. All dining rooms were chronically understaffed which meant long waits for food to be taken and then dishes cleared. Newly hired staff had little to no idea of what exactly they were responsible for - we repeatedly waved down staff for a refill of water and wine with our ...
We have been Seabourn cruisers since 2014 and have always found them to be excellent and well worth the premium price. We returned from a 16 day cruise to the Caribbean and were horrified at our experience. The only good aspect was the quality of the food and the variety of the menus; however, the vaunted Thomas Keller Grill badly disappointed and the overall staffing of the ship was abysmal. We ...
Marina is a 10+ year old ship that looks her age, Decor is dark, halls are dimly lit. You can see signs of rust, large dents on the ships side, and the ship was due for refit in 2022 and then postponed to 2023 and again until 2024. This obviously is due to NCLs tightening the budget. Several crew members complained about issues with kitchen, dishwashers etc that are showing their age. Ship ...
We are extensively experienced travelers in our late 60's and chose this 51 night cruise for the itinerary. I should say this is our second experience with an extended cruise on Oceania this year. Our previous cruise on Insignia was spring of 2022 and I did post a review afterwards. We almost cancelled this cruise due to the Insignia experience but were more forgiving due to restart issues. At ...
We choose this cruise because of the destination, itinerary and the small size ship.
I will start the positive experience saying that the staff was amazing and so serviceminded. They really made this cruise.
Public areas: Very nice ambience and nicely decorated but a bit dated.
Suit - concierge: Also very nice except for the very dated bathroom. We had a leaking toilet which resulted in ...
