We have chosen this itinerary mostly because Bocas del Toro stop - a remote destination to be reached only by boat or by plane.
Due to a alleged mechanical problem, this stop has been cancelled and we spent a whole day docked at the entrance of Panama Canal, watching cargo ships all day long - very unpleasant. There was no plan B for such a huge inconvenient - we could have docked in one beach ...
This is our third cruise on Oceania, out of about sixty cruises overall, a 24 day Amazon River cruise beginning and ending in Miami.. It was among our most disappointing cruise experiences. Oceania is usually classed as an “Upper Premium” cruise line, one that sells itself as providing a luxury experience. What Oceania provided on Sirena was at best a premium product. Cutbacks are evident ...
There are no bad cruises, for us they are adequate to excellent. However, I am writing this review while drinking what is perhaps the worst coffee at Sea on Silver Shadow. The saga of the bad coffee at sea pretty much sums up the cruise experience. This is our 4th Silversea cruise and we generally like a small ship experience. Besides SS we have cruised on Crystal, Oceania, Seabourn and Regent. ...
I chose this voyage because I wanted to go through the Panama Canal, and also sail on the Queen Elizabeth for the first time. I am a solo traveler. I had already sailed on the Queen Victoria once, and the Queen Mary 2 three times. I have been fascinated by ocean liners since I was ten years old, and this is why I am drawn to Cunard ships. Cunard has always taken pride in carrying on the ...
Having done dozens of cruises, I was looking forward to my first Oceania cruise. Unfortunately very mixed reviews.
Positives- beautiful suite
Generally elegant public rooms
Excellent specialty restaurant
Good entertainment
Gorgeous dining room china etc
Most comfortable chaises at pool and lots of seating
All crew very ...
We are a young 70s couple with 10 Seabourn cruises and several Silver Seas and Tauck cruises under our belt. We chose this cruise pretty much because it was available with a superior suite (Navigator Suite) when Seabourn was sold out. Also, Regent sports itself as "Ultra Luxury" so we though we would give it a try.
First the pre-night hotel stay. The Hilton was awful! Pretty beach but ...
For its final winter in the Caribbean, some cabins on the 1200 passenger Oceania Riviera have had a facelift. We just completed 19 days on Riviera visiting eastern and western Caribbean ports, and some of the changes stand out.
The ports may not be what you recall. At San Juan, Puerto Rico the Riviera tied up at a great location, a short walk from the historic tourist area. Puerto Plata in the ...
We wanted the experience of a smaller ship. The help did a wonderful job! They were so attentive in the buffet area, and so friendly too! We looked forward to the specialty restaurants but were disappointed. I had pad thai and can get better at our local restaurant. On several occasions, the food was not served hot, not even the soup! The cafe near the pool made really good, hot, burgers! One of ...
This was our first cruise with Regent. We've travelled with Viking, Windstar, Poinant, and others. The Navigator cruise from Barbados to Barbados looked like a nice itinerary. The cruise itself was very nice and the crew and food were great, on a par with Viking. There were a couple of issues shouldn't have happened on Regent.
The main issue was the absolutely chaotic transfer from the ...
I'm not great with big crowds so we decided for our first cruise we would go with a smaller ship (which I am glad we did) and as I like quality the Seven Seas Navigator seemed like a good choice. We were originally touring the Caribbean in 2020 but the pandemic stopped that so this was our rescheduled attempt. Organising the cruise was easy and we got good advice from the rep in the U.K. ...
