I choose WindStar because I wanted to try sailing on a small ship. This was my third Cruise my first ship was freedom of the seas and my second ship was Norwegian epic and it was a big difference. From the moment we checked in in San Juan there was nearly nobody at the port in front of us at 1:30 p.m. when we gave the person our luggage I think it was at our room within an hour of being on the ...
Quick background. This was our 46th cruise, the 3rd on Windstar. We treated my son and his family so they could experience a 5-star cruise line. Windstar didn't disappoint!
Flying from Charlotte, NC no problem to St Maarten. Customs there was very slow but the transfer to the ship was fine. Checked in at the cruise terminal and showed our vaccination paperwork & passports again and found ...
I wanted to take one of the sail yachts but the departure and arrival locations were different and astronomical for air fare, so we settled on this one out of San Juan. Easy to get to, not too expensive for airfare. The destinations of St. Thomas, St. Barts, St. Martin, Montserrat, and the BVI was an attraction too.
The stateroom (Deck 5, all the way in the bow) was the best I've seen. The ...
We were occasional cruisers (10+ cruises over the past 35 years), mostly on Royal Caribbean and Holland America. We had received marketing materials for Seabourn and always said “some day”. Then, with all the cruise ship horrors at the beginning of the pandemic, we weren’t sure we would ever feel comfortable cruising again. Fast forward to now, we decided the time was right to cruise, and we ...
We like Regent and since this is a new ship with the right itinerary and the right length of sailing we booked only 3 months our when the vaccination requirement was dropped. We had a guaranteed suite and the one we were assigned was one level up, on a low deck as we asked and almost center of the ship. That worked out very well.
It is a beautiful ship, although to us it felt a bit sterile ...
This was our 4'th cruise on the Riviera. We loved the refit(or reimagining, if you wish). The food overall was still excellent. The tea service was a bit nicer than in 2022(more selection)If you do scones at tea ASK for Clotted Cream. Otherwise you get whipped Cream.
I'll do the specialty restaurants first. Jacques was excellent. I advise to try the Sea Bass in Puff Pastry. It's their ...
We loved our first Regent cruise after trying several luxury cruise lines such as Crystal, Seabourn and Silversea.
The crew were superb, somehow they knew our name wherever we went, and knew that we were staying on for a second voyage. The entertainment was very good and better than expected for a smaller ship. In particular, we really enjoyed listening to Gino in the Observation Lounge. The ...
I have been on numerous other cruises with other companies. Hands down this was the most fun. The ship is beautiful and in excellent condition and very well maintained. The staff was incredible from the Steward to the Hotel Manager, The excursion desk, the restaurant staff and the captain. I can't figure out how so many people knew my name. The food was great and all home made not pre-made which ...
This itinerary was enticing, down the Amazon River, Brazilian ports, lots of days at sea. Our third Oceania sail, second on Marina, our favorite ship, not too big, not too small, all specialty restaurants included.
Passengers who chose shore excursions sponsored by Oceania were generally disappointed. Brazilians do not categorically learn English; these ports do not get many cruise ships due ...
Ponant is one of the few cruise lines that offers multiple cruises without a single supplement. For almost the same price as a Caribbean cruise on a premium cruise line (double for solos), I was able to book a mid-ship balcony cabin on an ultra-luxury Ponant cruise. Le Dumont d'Urville is a beautiful mega-yacht with a modern, minimalist design. Food, drinks, service, cabins, lectures and so forth ...
