This was our first Silversea cruise and we were looking forward to 12 relaxing days of 6 star treatment!
Good: Room was spacious. Loved the food and service at the Grill/pool bar. We had steak, burgers, fish, chicken, salads (all of which was great). Also enjoyed the brick oven pizza and gelato. Probably the best gelato we have had outside of Italy! We did not go to any of the shows, but ...
This was my 4th Star Clipper cruise and I knew the drill and what to expect. Had inside cabin 218 which is bunk bed and basically a closet but for one person I used the upper bunk as storage. Be aware that here is not a whole lot of open deck space and may have trouble finding a chair especially in the shade. I always enjoy the food on Star Clipper and this was no exception. They do a good job ...
The ship is beautiful. The cuisine is fabulous. We couldn't wait to get off. We were in stateroom 7033. The heating and air conditioning system only blew cold air. No matter how much we turned up the thermostat, the unit, located right over the right side of the bed, blew cold air. Even with the veranda door open, it blew cold air. Sleeping under the cold and perhaps dirty (dust? mold?) air ...
We normally cruise on Celebrity .We wanted to try an Oceania Cruise and the price was right. The cruise was disappointing .The ship was very small. You felt the ocean and every movement . There was not much to do. We are used to a much bigger ship with more activities. Oceania hypes the food as the best at sea, I did not find that to be the case. One night in the main dining room we had to wait a ...
The cruise was nice, ship was in great condition , staff was accommodating but the management has some strange ideas about customer service. 3 major problems occurred on our recent cruise which would prevent me from cruising with Star Clippers again.
First, there policy of confiscating passengers passports for the duration of the cruise is incredible in this day and age. It makes life easy for ...
We chose Seven Seas Explorer as it is described as 'The most luxurious ship ever built"
As we stepped onboard we could clearly see this ship is very luxurious and smart. All the public areas are immaculate and 'upmarket'.
There is a good choice of restaurants and the food is generally quite good. The Sunday morning brunch is magnificent served in the Compass Rose restaurant. I can ...
This is one of the older ships and we have sailed on Sirena and its sister ships many times. Azamara has a couple of these ships and Princess at least one. We love the small ship experience and the ports we can access because of the size of the ship.
On the second day out of our cruise, all the lights went off and the ship was still. That lasted about 10 minutes and the passengers were ...
The service in the Britannia restaurant was as great as always. But the weather across the Atlantic was dreadful. We were late into Bermuda and Port Canaveral. The Churchill cigar lounge was full of cigarette smokers and resembled the Dog and Duck pub rather than an intimate cigar lounge as it is advertised. Day activities were poor and because of the weather the decks were often closed. ...
We had previously sailed on the sister ship Silver Whisper during a world cruise in 2017. Perhaps we were spoilt for the 15 days we were on that trip but by comparison the service levels, courtesy, warmth and welcome from the Silver Shadow team come a poor third. For two days the pool was an ugly yellow green, possibly algy which of course can happen, but the indifference of the staff who just ...
I always cruise at the holidays at least the 10th time w/Oceania at this holiday sailing - they cook, clean and sing. What's not to like? Oh yeah,
1. scooters: I've never seen such a 'disabled' bunch of people. Research indicated U.S. ADA rules must be followed and ANYONE can use a scooter on board. The scooters blocked doorways to all venues such as restaurants, library, theater, etc. ...
