Disappointing, Aggravating

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Riviera

First Time Cruiser • Age 60s

This is our first cruise and certainly was not amazing or even anything close to what we signed up for. After two planned Mediterranean Cruises were cancelled with Oceania refusing to refund our monies, or offer any incentives for the cancelled cruises, we booked a Caribbean Cruise that had six ports with day long adventure opportunities. After a few port changes in the weeks before sailing, ...

We chose this cruise because we had to use a FCC from 2 years ago when our cruise was cancelled. We originally chose Oceania because of all the "hype" on outstanding cuisine and service and the Itinerary. This was our first time on Oceania and we had very high expectations. We have cruised about 20 times prior on Celebrity, Holland, Carnival, Princess and Viking. The food on Oceania was ...

Top-notch cuisine but irresponsibly broken itinerary promises.

We just came back from the cruise Barbados-to-Barbados (Dec. 12 -Dec 19). We chose this cruise mainly because we don't like crowds wandering along narrow streets of small towns. The cruise itinerary looked very exciting. This was possibly a wonderful trip for the people who wanted just to eat, drink, and socialize. As promised it was 'consistently top-notch cuisine and service. The Chef is ...

Very disappointed

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Silver Whisper

The Silver Whisper is advertised as an upscale ship. I guess it depends on what you are looking for on your cruise. Our voyage in the Caribbean was a great disappointment in many respects. The ship itself it's very nice but not great. . The best thing about the Whisper is the crew. They are outstanding in every way. Drinks are free and that's great. On the other hand, the food was consistently ...

Family recommended this cruise line and went with family and friends. This is our 7th or 8th cruise in last two years. Pros: Staff was friendly, accommodating, room very clean. John at the omelette station was an artist and made breakfast very enjoyable. Sauna, steam room and showers very good--Great water therapy tub with jet movement Cons:: Dining and food experience ...

Very disappointing cruise and management.

This cruise was doomed from the start. On the first day, the boat went dead in the water, all electricity went out, no engine. No explanation, nothing said. The next day, the captain informed the guests that the currents, waves and wind would cause us an extra day at sea and also the new timing would cause us to bypass our first port, Aruba. We were also delayed several hours arriving to ...

Oceania Sirena: 12 days on a bouncy castle... but the food was excellent.

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Sirena

This was my first cruise on Oceania. It was a repeat of the ABC trip we took earlier n the month with Holland America. This gives me a chance to compare the two cruise lines. Our first stop was supposed to be Aruba. The first two days were like being on a bouncy castle. We were forward and we hit every wave. We had no balcony on Deck 6. The waves did hit the porthole as we bounced along ...

A Terrible and Expensive Disappointment

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

Our 5th cruise on the QM2 and possibly our 40th cruise overall. The Queen has clearly lost her crown. The ship is aging and needs refurbishing. Seating in the Illuminations theater needs to be fixed so they stay upright, need to be reupholstered; the public areas need to be kept free of detritus and stray bits of food and/or personal effects; the food in the main dining room was absolutely ...

Poor service & ship needs an overhaul

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Wind Surf

We love Windstar's other ships and wanted to try their large sailing ship for the itinerary Yachtsman Caribbean. Sadly this ship strongly disappointed. Ironically the ship had just come out of dry dock three weeks earlier but two of the sails were broken and couldn't unfurl each night. Also they refurbished the lounge and half of the cabins and left all the garbage piled up on the ship in plane ...

We were excited to take this cruise because we wanted to visit the Amazon. Additionally friends had told us how wonderful Regent Cruise lines is The shore trips were marginal and poorly executed. The guides were extremely inexperienced and lacked knowledge The best bird sightings were at the zoo in Manaus. Not what we expected. The food was barely average. It lacked creativity and ...
