This captain skips ports. What else can be said about a cruise billed as a voyage to Antarctica and the Falklands Islands but skips the Falklands and cuts out a day in Antarctica. I'm sure most people lined up to pay $$$ to see eight days in a row of the South Atlantic. No? Probably not. My 2nd ever cruise and first on a so-called Prestige Line ship.
Voyager as a ship was tired and clearly in need of refurbishment. TV swung from side to side even on a moderate swell giving sleepless nights. Balcony door wouldn't lock. The so-called exclusive toiliteries (shampoo and soap) were of a quality found in cheap motels forcing us to buy from the Spa Shop.

Regent was rated in top 3 luxury liner but this trip was a disaster! Shows were at low standards,no variety,repeat artists,activities were minimal, staff was under trained even though they did the best they could and the worst of all was the excursions were way below of what a luxury cruiser would provide-many ports of call were cancelled and ended up with more than half the cruise at sea!!

We purchased a cruise package that included flights, 3 days pre-cruise stay in Cape Town then a cruise to Rio stopping at Luderitz and Walvis Bay in Namibia followed by St Helena before ending with a day in Rio.

Seasoned Oceania cruisers try out Regent. How did it go?
It was an adventure.

Going on a Panama Canal cruise from Miami to Lima Peru was on our bucket list. The itinerary was terrific. The boat is old and needs renovation to to bottom. Unfortunately, we are on this tub again in June from Lisbon to Oslo for 23 days. The scheduled renovations will only touch the Penthouses and common areas, not the balcony staterooms. Chose this ship for the small boat experience and unique ports that were promised. Out of the 4 stops 2 were cancelled and we sat anchored for 24 hours at canal inlet instead of one of our ports.
A casino was still advertised on the ship's website at the time we booked but when boarded found out it was pule 3 years ago during the retro-fit. I will say the stateroom and food were excellent.

This was essentially a reposition cruise, Artic to Antarctic, but was not advertised as such.
Ship is old and very much showing her age, significant water leak into observation lounge during rain storms, several cabins flooded due to air conditioning leaks, many areas of ship were quite warm on hot days.
