There were plenty of positives about this trip. The tours and tour guides were excellent. The onboard cruise director was fun, enthusiastic and give us good information about up coming ports. I was not fond of ocean cruises when I saw the river cruise ads I was intrigued! I am so pleased that I decided this was the adventure for me. If you are looking for a more intimate, peaceful and pampered experience this is the route for you. I cannot say enough about the onboard service. We had a lovely week on SS La Venezia.
The highlghts were the excursions - a private visit of the Doges palace and an after hours visit St Mark's Basilica with a superb guide.
The captain was very visible throughout the cruise. Often seen sitting in the bar/lounge on an evening.
