Our first and last river cruise with Scenic. I totally agree with the poor review on this website. Our cruise was supposed to be a gastronomique and wine cruise in France. Well the classical French dishes were nowhere to be seen let alone resemble classical French dishes. Bouillibaise, French Onion soup, mussels, crepes suzettes, coq au vin etc where did they get the recipes from? The cabin was ...
This fabulous little barge cruises north and south on the Shannon River through the Midlands of Ireland. With 10 lovely cabins and a crew of four, every detail is attended to and every creature comfort (within the confines of being on a river barge) is provided. Rauirie Gibbons (skipper/owner) has sailed this river for nearly 20 years and his wife, Olivia, provides food that's better than any ...
We traveled with Crystal last year and really satisfied. We spent fairly comparable fare (even though it's not possible to exactly compare) for SS Regent and expected the same.
Impression during embarkation was very poor. We only saw one or two crews in the long hallway leading to the ship and didn't feel very welcome. After that we were sent to pool side buffet while waiting for the room and ...
This was our first Regent Cruise. We spend about 21 - 28 days per year at sea and unlike many luxury cruisers, we are not yet brand loyal. That said we have gone on Silversea most frequently, Oceania and this is our first Regent. We are now in our 50’s so believe we have outgrown some of the other lines from our younger years. So in some ways we considered this Regent Cruise as a move up. ...
We just returned from cruise on the Voyager. Everything was perfect. Embarkation was seamless, food was delicious, service was the best, and ports were awesome.
Food: Excellent in every restaurant. We didn't have one meal we didn't enjoy and there was plenty to satisfy everyone.
Service: Everyone crew member was exceptional. We have never experience bad service with any of Regents' ships. ...
It was our first river cruise and we selected the Uniworld SS Antoinette as the ship based upon the sailing dates. We are extremely fond of white asparagus (known as Spargel in Germany) and selected this date as it is in the height of the very short season. When asked by us whether the chef would be willing to prepare this for us if we purchased them in the local markets, they told us not to ...
River cruising's dirty little secret- sometimes you don't get to cruise. We knew the day before we left home the ship would not be meeting us in Basal. Met by a bus at the dock and transfer was very seamless. Taken to Kehl Germany, even further up the River than originally planned and sat there for four days (with a Viking Ship lashed to us for 3 days - that means people on that side of the boat ...
Second cruise with AMA- even better than first. Friendly, professional crew, beautiful clean ship, great food presented beautifully, wonderful tours, lots of options.Chef,s table was wonderfull! Cabin had french and regular balcony, beautiful marble bath, great movies on TV. It was a perfect trip with many highlights. ...
For starters, Uniworld neglected to inform us that there would be a pickup at our hotel due to high water at the embarkation point. The physical condition of the ship is very nice. Clean, modern, decor a bit overdone but still very nice. Unfortunately, a day or so into the cruise passengers began coming down with a respiratory ailment that spread very quickly with the result that when walking ...
It's difficult to begin to explain how good this cruise was! The ship, the staff, the experience, the tours, the professionalism, the food, the wine...was absolutely amazing! The moment we stepped on the beautiful SS Antoinette, we felt like part of the Uniworld family! We left with a heavy heart and felt like we were leaving close friends!
I must honestly say the food and wine was the best we ...
