New to Seabourn but not to cruise travel

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Seabourn Quest

DW and I have been on dozens of cruises over the past 40+ years and now that we are retired and blessed to afford more luxury travel options, we have started trying out the luxury cruise lines starting with Seabourn. We booked the Quest transatlantic crossing from Miami to Las Palmas sailing on March 24. We booked with our preferred travel agent into a Verandah Suite and in December we accepted ...

Superb Cruise.

Review for a South America Cruise on Azamara Quest

Another superb cruise on the Azamara Quest, we were in a club continent suite this time as the bathroom in a veranda room is very small , our suite was very nice lots of storage and we were able to put the suitcases under the bed. The company has changed hands since our last voyage and it is noticeable in the cuts they are making considering the guests on board we’re 54% return cruisers they ...

Excellent staff, good food but some niggles.

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

We boarded in Barcelona for a Transatlantic cruise to New York before continuing to Montreal. Although comfortable the ship is looking its age with a surprising amount of silicone apparent in the cabin, and once you see that your eye is of course drawn to other deficiencies, of which there are many. To summarise: The good: All the staff were happy, courteous and obliging. To name a few, our ...

Good cruise but was it good value for the money?

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Nautica

This cruise had been a long time coming. We had a HAL Alaska cruise cancelled on us at the beginning of the pandemic. That would have been a 70th birthday present to myself. And, last summer, we got Covid a couple of days before an Oceania cruise we’d booked as a present to ourselves for our golden wedding. Then more general health issues intervened, meaning we couldn’t get travel insurance – so ...

Cunard enjoys a reputation as a luxury cruise provider and the Queen Victoria (QV) is elegantly furnished throughout. I would accept that constant use is going to have an impact on the fabric of the ship but in general it is well maintained. Dining at the Princess Grill is excellent with very attentive staff, a good menu choice and a relaxing atmosphere. Other areas of the ship also offered ...

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Europa

BACKGROUND: This was my first post-Covid trip on Hapag Lloyd's small luxury ship the MS Europa. I had sailed on her several times pre-Covid (last time was September 2019) and had very much enjoyed the seamless service and excellent food (both international and German). The main reason for my booking this particular trip (booked almost three years ago), was for the annual classical music Ocean ...

Pretty good cruise but not up to the normal standard yet

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Seabourn Encore

In spite of all the conflicting information (you need a test before departure, you will be charged $100 if you turn up without one, you don’t need a test etc) from Seabourn pre cruise on their web site, direct emails and info via our TA we made it to Lisbon and to the ship. The Lisbon airport transfer to the ship was quite efficient in spite of panic setting in when our second bag didn’t ...

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

First few days out of Southampton were quite choppy at sea and a lot of passengers appeared to be staying in their rooms. Ship movement prevented the acrobatic act from performing in the theatre and outside deck areas were closed. Thankfully, conditions improved once the ship had got past the Bay of Biscay and temperatures rose the closer we got to the Canaries. Meals in the main restaurant ...

Very good despite Covid rules

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

We have travelled on QE before and QV. Both superb ships. This break was to have some winter Sun to islands we had been to before and liked. The arrival at Southampton docks was a bit disorganised. Cunard said to go into Gate 20 which was not a good idea as it's the Container port and there was only one sign to the screening area and that was much later; we did find it eventually by accident. It's ...

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

We wanted to get some winter sun without flying....this fitted the bill. The ship was broadly excellent, food was excellent, ship is very manageable, production shows were excellent with some very good guest acts. As would be expected the Crew were very professional, but to the point of blandness. Very few of them showed any warmth or made anything personal. While the ship (and Cunard) ...
