Captain Skips Ports! 'nuf said!

Review for a South America Cruise on Seven Seas Voyager

This captain skips ports. What else can be said about a cruise billed as a voyage to Antarctica and the Falklands Islands but skips the Falklands and cuts out a day in Antarctica. I'm sure most people lined up to pay $$$ to see eight days in a row of the South Atlantic. No? Probably not. I hear there's a line forming onboard to join a class action lawsuit organized by some of the passengers. Rude ...

Such a Disappointment

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Seven Seas Voyager

My 2nd ever cruise and first on a so-called Prestige Line ship. Voyager as a ship was tired and clearly in need of refurbishment. TV swung from side to side even on a moderate swell giving sleepless nights. Balcony door wouldn't lock. The so-called exclusive toiliteries (shampoo and soap) were of a quality found in cheap motels forcing us to buy from the Spa Shop. The staff servicing the ...

Awful ship well past it's prime but good pre and post tours

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Marina

We chose this cruise because it was going to Antarctica at the time that suited us. We have sailed Regent before and had good reviews of Oceania. How wrong we were. This cruise was awful from boarding queues to the end. Oceania at minimum misrepresented this cruise and at worst, outright lied about the ship's amenities. Let's start... Boarding Disorganization was so awful in Lima that ...

We are experienced travelers on both ocean and river cruises as well as independent travel over the past 20 years. This was our fourth cruise with Oceania, we did two before COVID and one after; but this was the first on Marina. We selected this cruise because of the itinerary which included the fjords of southern Chile and Antarctica. Our previous cruises with Oceania were on the smaller ships ...

Antarctic cruise - disappointing expedition

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Viking Polaris

We cruise a lot including river cruises, world cruises, expedition cruises and bareboat charters. For years we have heard from fellow cruisers that an Antarctica expedition was one of their most enjoyable cruises. Unfortunately, we did not have that experience and would not recommend Viking Expeditions. The travel and transfers were extremely uncoordinated, confusing and overall very ill ...

Oceania marketing strategy is a "Hostage to Fortune"

We were meant to go on this trip in 2022 but Covid got in the way. So we were really looking forward to this cruise. Given the brochures outlined that we were going to experience the finest cuisine on the seas we had very high expectations. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. We would advise anyone thinking of booking a cruise with Oceania don't do it on the basis of their promises ...

A Luxury Cruise Line That Is Not As Good As Most Premium Cruise Lines

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Insignia

We had not cruised for several years (pandemic and health issues) and were really excited to try a luxury cruise line. All of our previous 20 or so cruises have been with Premium cruise lines. We should have tried a short Oceania cruise before committing to a World Cruise so the fact that we were so disappointed was our fault entirely. On the positive side, the ship size was perfect. We were able ...

NOTE: We were only on the first segment from Miami to San Francisco. The following review is intended to provide helpful information to those considering cruising on the Oceania Insignia. Please remember that this is only one person’s opinion and may not reflect your view or the opinions of others. Great luxury cruise but a BUST as an expedition!

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Viking Polaris

Great luxury cruise with beautiful scenery and penguins BUT a disappointment as an expedition. We did not get what we paid for which was 7 days of multiple water craft experiences and landings in Antarctica. Spent two extra days in Ushuaia waiting for smooth water to cross the Drake Passage. That reduced the expedition days to down to 5. Spent two 6.5 hour days on bus tours around Ushuaia. OK, ...

Antarctic Expedition great but avoid Viking Air at all costs.

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Viking Polaris

The Viking Air Department is horrible and should be avoided. The Air Department lies, randomly and without notice changes itineraries, ignores stated flight preferences, and becomes punitive if you challenge them. We assured by a Viking representative that we would have our choice of available partner airlines for our December 15-29 Viking Polaris expedition to the Antarctic if we purchased ...
