Carnival can do better

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Carnival Radiance

I'm not sure about Carnival Cruises. I've been on three cruises with them; all to Catalina Island and Ensenada Mexico. The first two cruises were in 2017 and 2018 and the most recent cruise was May of 2024. Customer service was excellent, the food in the Lido deck was okay at best. I purchased the soda beverage package but of course that doesn't include bottled water. It seems like they're trying ...

Not really a premium experience / nickeled & dimed

Overall, I would say "meh". 1. The stateroom was old and outdated, very reminiscent of the mid-1990s. The shower was small and the curtain did nothing to keep water out of the bathroom / bathroom floor. The bed was very comfortable however. 2. Upsell, upsell, upsell. They constantly try to upsell you on everything. Room service isn't free - you have to pay a $15 activation fee. At the ...

Never taking a Celebrity Cruise again

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Celebrity Summit

Dining: Although we had early dining and had confirmed table (card was in our stateroom) we were booted within 2 hours of dinner and placed on anytime dining. With 2 small children in tow, this absolutely reprehensible. On top of that our waiter wasn’t friendly at all, we tried to greet him cheerily and he would just hand the menu and walk away. He had the capacity, he greeted his fellow ethnic ...

Not as good as before

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Carnival Panorama

I have been on this cruise two other times with different family members. This time I noticed that the shows were not as good the food was lacking and Carnival has cut a lot of corners on things. The ice cream used to be 24 hours and now they open at 11:00 am. The omelette station only has a few options to choose from and they stopped serving bacon a few days into the cruise. Dinner was very ...

Very pleasant cruise

Brief review: The Summit was most enjoyable. Very clean, the entire crew extremely friendly and accommodating. We were in Concierge Class on Deck 8 with an outstanding steward. Our cabin was quiet and in very nice condition. All the food we had from buffet to MDR to room service breakfast was quite good, although the choices in the MDR were all rather rich which is different from how we usually ...

Beautiful way to experience Alaska

Crew was very friendly and experienced. Food was generally very good to excellent but sometimes served cold especially at breakfast. Our package included free beer and wine at lunch and dinner so we didn’t even use our bottles we brought on board. Cabins were clean and well kept. Stewards were very responsive to your needs or request. We had a fantastic Cruise Director that was extremely ...

Thos was my first crusit on Carnival Panorama. It started late because the ship was late. There were alot of people standing in the heat waiting. We stood in three rows in thw heat, way pass our boarding time. Once we got on thw ship, there were other lines to go through. We were rushed through the dos and don'ts and advise to load the ship. Once on the ship, we were told to go to our rooms. No ...

Set the bar real low if you decide to go!

This was definitely my last Carnival cruise. The other 2 were back in 2019 and both Caribbean. I took a chance that 5 years and a different ocean could be a different experience. We did have a good cruise, but it was because we had 3 awesome excursion days. I'm not going to beat them to death here, but there was literally nothing "good" on this boat except for our team in the main dining. ...

Firenze will need some refinement

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Carnival Firenze

First a little context. My wife and I have been on 30+ cruises, beginning with our honeymoon in 1987. We have cruised on Carnival(x3), Holland America(x1), Costa(x2), Princess(x2), NCL(x3), but mostly Royal Caribbean(x20+). We enjoy the mega ships of RCI the most. That being said we are fine with Carnival and we were looking forward to cruising on the new (to Carnival) Firenze. The ship ...

An enjoyable family getaway

This was our first time on this ship, though we have sailed with Carnival multiple times. For this trip, my husband and I were in an ambulatory accessible balcony cabin on deck 8, while our young adult sons were in an interior, also on 8. Boarding: the boarding process was smooth and speedy. From parking our car to parking our backsides on the Lido deck was less than 25 minutes. Such a ...
