The food was very repetitive with little variety. All meat was touch and stringy.
The excursions were terrible as far as getting dumped off at locations (Ensenada in particular) where we spent 1 1/2 hours at a dusty, dirty Mexican flea market.
We chose Princess because of the itinerary and we had never gone with them.
This was the first and last.
I hate to say it but Carnival had ...
Just returned home from a seven day California Coastal cruise on Ruby Princess. Many pros and cons with ship, but most cons lay with Princess Cruises themselves.
We are 63 + cruises into our lives, 14 of those with Princess. We have enjoyed many things with Princess through the years, but unfortunately, the amounts of staff reductions and food quality, make it difficult to sail again. Full ...
A perfect cruise to celebrate our 25th Anniversary! The cabin was great - though the toilets stopped working twice in our cabin section it seemed more like they were shut off to avoid bigger issues while the crew worked on the plumbing. Our cabin steward was attentive and friendly. The wait staff handled all of our requests eagerly (hubby is a little bit of a picky eater). Cocktails were ...
We needed a quick get away and enjoy SF, Monterey and San Diego. Hadn’t been on Princess in a while.
We found the entertainment to be pretty good, comedy was clean and the magic show excellent.
There were a couple of excellent food courses but with a few exceptions the food is average at best and dreadful at worst.
We went to Curtis Stone’s restaurant Share, some of the food was really ...
Beautiful coastal cuise. Cabins are bigger than average with a refrigerater within. Ice brought 2x a day. Ruby Princess was overrated though. Of course no cruise is a bad cruise but from all the recommendations from my friends (for Princess) I was expecting a lot more! Older ship- mediocre food- mediocre entertainment- bar service great- restaurant service great. Food nothing special. ...
My husband has cruised on Princess once before (about 12 years ago) and he really wanted to go with them again. I wanted to be able to drive to the departure port so we chose a 7-day California Coastal, round trip from LA. It was just the two of us ages 45 and 46. Left the kids at home since they don't appreciate cruising (which is fine with me as it's much cheaper that way!).
After reading ...
DW & I just returned from a great 7 Day California Coastal Cruise on the Ruby Princess. This was our 20th overall cruise and 13th in a row on Princess. This was also our third time on the Ruby albeit the last time was 2011.
Even though we only live 92 miles away from the cruise terminal, we did a two night pre-cruise stay at the Hilton Doubletree in San Pedro. For the two days we just hung ...
They have cut back so much. Service was very poor. Dining choices limited. If you wanted steak it was an up charge of $19.00 -$24.00. I am not talking the specialty restaurants - this was the regular dining room. Selections were often the same.
Buffet was limited. Golden Corral is much better regarding fresh fruit and veggies and variety. Sad the food and selection used to be so great on ...
The whole trip was great except for we could not port in Monterey because the seas were too choppy for the tenders to come pick us up. But that was OK because we got two days in San Diego. The cruise director and his staff are fantastic. Everybody is very nice and the ship was very clean.
The food in the dining room was really good. The buffet had most of the same things each night so I prefer ...
This was our 4th Princess Cruise. We chose the cruise for the itinerary. Could not fault embarkation, the time for when cabin was ready. The balcony cabin on Rivereria deck was good. We were disappointed to find there were no wine packages which we had previously purchased on Princess Cruises. We found that the drink packages per couple were extortionate, no way we would drink the amount as ...
