Review for Sapphire Princess to South America

Check in. I saw 2 lines, an elite line and a “Green line”. Green line is for those of us who have completed the medallion app documents, which I did. They put me in the elite line anyway since I’m elite, and both lines moved almost exactly the same. It took 42 minutes from the time we got in line to get on our way to the ship. I think in the past, prior to COVID, I never waited more than 10 ...

I was on a 33-day cruise from Los Angeles to Buenos Aires, Argentina starting Dec. 2, 2022. We sailed along the Pacific Coast with stops in Cabo San Lucas; Puntarenas, Costa Rica; Lima, Peru for 2 days; skipped Pisco, Peru due to the coup in Lima; stopped in Coquimbo and Santiago, Chile; skipped Punta Arenas, Chile due to high seas and win and, sailed alternatively through the Strait of Magellan ...

Worst Maintained Ship Ever

Review for Sapphire Princess to South America

Beginning on Day 1, we saw signs in the bathrooms on decks 5, 6, and 7 that said, "We're On it." It got worse with each of the 33 days on the ship -- to the point where you could NOT find an operational bathroom (both men's and women's). The food in the buffet worst we have ever had on any ship. Much of it was not even edible. Even Carnival had better food! The food in the Dining rooms was just ...

Review for Sapphire Princess to Hawaii

First of all. let me say I had some trepidation after booking this cruise. We were originally booked on the Diamond Princess out of San Diego in October. We were anxious to have a Princess ship ported out of our hometown and yes it was "that" Diamond Princess of Covid fame. But unfortunately, Princess cancelled the cruise along with about seven or eight other San Diego departures due to a lack of ...

My husband had never been to Hawaii so we chose this cruise. His biggest complaint on this ship is that the casino had not poker table. It mostly met our expectations. The food was good, but not outstanding. The service in our dining room was excellent. It was sometimes slow at breakfast. The size of the buffet was small so therefore there was very little variety. The crowd was mostly older. ...

Embarkation with Medallion was a breeze. Checked large luggage with porter at curbside. Direct to check in counter. Through security screening and onto the ship. Time was about 1 PM. Wanted to give staff time to complete changed over of staterooms. Went direct to the stateroom and it was ready, with our Elite mini bar set up. Shortly after walking into the room, our Stewart Miguel arrived ...

We enjoyed our first cruise since 2019 on the Sapphire Princess, the crew were exceptional, some being new to this industry. Love the fact that we had managers pitching in with service to ensure we had a pleasant experience. Cabin steward Miguel was excellent for our area E723. Yes we had some cabin issues but him and his supervisor communicated with us and we didn't feel our issues were not ...

Lovely cruise but ship needs work

We chose this cruise for our honeymoon to Hawaii from LA. The crew were absolutely wonderful and couldn't have done enough for us. The entertainment was very good but I felt there were too much reliance on singers rather than varied performances and everything shut down at 11pm. We mostly did the trivia and game shows which were excellent. The medallion was a fantastic addition! Embarkation and ...

Review for Sapphire Princess to Mexican Riviera

I'm going to preface this review with a little of our cruising history. My husband and I are very experienced cruisers with 62 cruises since 2005. We've cruised with Princess several times, along with Carnival, Holland America, Celebrity, MSC and, our favorite, Norwegian. Out of those cruises, we'd rate this cruise (with #1 as fantastic and #62 as horrible) as number 55 and that's being ...

Back in service after 2+ years

Review for Sapphire Princess to Mexican Riviera

We were aboard the first Sapphire Princess cruise (10 days R/T LA to Mexico) after she was out of service for 2+ years. Here's what I found: This was truly a shakedown cruise. Minor "technical" issues such as elevators out of service, A/C problems, sound system issues, were pretty frequent. Ship is pretty clean. At least some percentage of the staff has been aboard since March working ...
