Great itinerary, generally good execution
"On the other hand, Princess cruise director staff needs to evaluate their practices used during a "world cruise".Embarkation days (world cruise had 5 segments where passengers could board) generally led to very poor service in the main dining room...."Read More

OK, but not great

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Island Princess

We chose the Half World cruise as a way to escape winter and to get to the Arab countries where we wanted to tour. Cruising is always pleasant and so my rating is relative to other cruises we've done. Generally the food was ok (what you might expect at Denny's) and the ride not to bad (for us) even when the seas were rough. But nothing was impressive and the entertainment was VERY lame. You can ...

We chose this as our bucket list cruise around the world. First the two items that were positive about this cruise: 1.The cabin stewards and the personnel in the Horizon Cafe were terrific when it came to service 2.The Horizon Cafe Buffet had a great selection of food which was well prepared and had a tremendous variety. Unfortunately those are the only god things I can report about this ...

Chose the Ft. Lauderdale to Fort Lauderdale world cruise for the excellent scheduled itinerary. Was a bit concerned about the reconfiguration of the ship that replaced the aft lounge with additional cabins. Also concerned about general age and condition of ship based on reviews. The delivered itinerary exceeded expectations, even with a number of ports cancelled due to weather. Princess ...

World Cruise - not a true World Cruise - Do Not Waste your money or time

A World Cruise (WC) was on my bucket list and Princess is our preferred Cruise Line (4 of us). This was NOT a cruise I would repeat nor recommend. The Island Princess is old and needs A LOT of repairs - rust, mildew, mold, water leaks, cabin entry doors not opening and more. All major safety issues - I worked in Transportation Safety for over 20 years and Island is NOT a safe ship unless it has ...

Overall The Island Princess is a clean and beautifully designed ship that is a pleasure to sail on. The atrium is interesting and inspiring. Staircases seem to float, and the sculptures, twinkling ceiling lights, and water features please the eye and soothe the senses. The public rooms are easy to locate, but brass ship guides are conveniently posted on the bulwarks if you get lost. The primarily ...

My wife and I sailed on the FEB 25th 15 day trip on the Island Princess. I read many of these reviews before we left and picked up some good tips so hope this review helps some of you. About us - we are both 53 - among the youngest on this cruise as expected ... but that did not bother us ... this is a "younger" old crowd vs. Holland America ... and lots of well traveled very nice people. This ...

Review of Island Princess Hawaii 2/10/07-2/25/07 By Terry Burdette We are in our 40's, and did this cruise in February 05. We like it so much we did it again! Embarkation: Embarkation was delayed until 5pm as they were thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing the ship due to the Noro virus. On Thursday, 2/8, our travel agent called and emailed us, Princess called us, and other cc members passed this ...

We arrived at the San Pedro dock around 11 am and were in the first group to board. A large tent was set up since there were two other ships in port the same day. There was a very slight drizzle so the tent was welcome. We were about an hour late in departing due to delayed flights from the east coast due to snow. We selected Traditional Dining in the Provence Dining Room and our servers Zaldy ...

Island Princess Review - Feb. 10-25, 2007 This is a review of our 15-day cruise to Hawaii on the Island Princess. This was our 4th cruise, and our first with Princess. I had done a lot of research to book this cruise, as we were looking for one that would offer more days at sea. We are both in our 40's and wanted extra days to relax, unwind, and not have to get off the ship every second day ...

This was our third cruise with Princess, the previous two having been to the Eastern and Western Caribbean and 7 days in length each. So this was our first "longer" cruise, and we booked it particularly because of the many sea days. All of the four of us friends who travel together really enjoy just cruising along and sitting out on our balconies, so we thought this would be a perfect one for us. ...
