This cruise met our time and destination requirements. The Island Princess is just the right size to go thru the old locks of the Panama Canal. Having sailed on this ship in the past we knew it was one of the best in the Princess fleet.

We chose this cruise in order to experience the Panama Canal transit. We were welcomed at the airport and transported to the ship. We truely enjoyed the Panama Canal transit experience from Pacific Ocean to Atlantic Ocean.
We had a balcony room on deck 11 (Baja) in mid ship area. The room was comfortable although we found the mattress a little bit soft to our liking. The room steward did a good service making us feel like home every day. He always open the door for us when he is near our room.

All port excursions (all booked through Princess) were great. The Aromas and Flavors of Cartagena was a bit shorter than we expected, but the food was great. I recommend the balcony dinner for two (stead and lobster) and save your appetite. They serve you a lot of food! The cost is $99.

I wrote how great the shore excursion in Victoria at Craigdarroach Castle was, how we'd done Butchart x2, how great the food at Horizon Court was, how we seldom got to restuarants even tho so pretty cuz loved buffet so much!

This cruise was closer to home and didn't require full day of flying to get to the ship. Loved the covered pool as a little cooler weather but missed Movies Under the Stars as too cold to sit out.
