Firstly, I agree with the many in they have ruined Island Princess with the recent updates. The additional cabins block off the Promenade deck, the additional plating on the rear makes it look almost ugly and the loss of Vista lounge is a big shame. I wanted a quick getaway from SoCal to the Northwest, and this was perfect. The ship is in great condition, the food was very good and the stateroom (veranda on Lido deck 14) was fine. Quick getaway just the Repo San Pedro to Vancouver. Boarding was painless. Went to our rooms and found that they did not set them up as twins, as requested. Made the phone call and was corrected by bed time. It was a quick fast cruise. Very relaxing. Embarkation was very quick and slick. I was surprised about the extra $10.00 in the Bayou Café for Lobster. On the Ruby Princess, in the first week of October of 2017 I paid only $5.00 extra. So I dined there twice. Norman our room steward did a great job. We only saw him twice during the whole trip.
