Great itinerary, generally good execution
"On the other hand, Princess cruise director staff needs to evaluate their practices used during a "world cruise".Embarkation days (world cruise had 5 segments where passengers could board) generally led to very poor service in the main dining room...."Read More

Great itinerary, generally good execution

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Island Princess

Chose the Ft. Lauderdale to Fort Lauderdale world cruise for the excellent scheduled itinerary. Was a bit concerned about the reconfiguration of the ship that replaced the aft lounge with additional cabins. Also concerned about general age and condition of ship based on reviews. The delivered itinerary exceeded expectations, even with a number of ports cancelled due to weather. Princess ...

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Island Princess

We chose this cruise as we wanted to do a full transit of the Panama Canal. And this cruise totally delivered on that. We experienced going through the canal from the Miraflores, the Pedro Miguel, and then the Gatun locks. We received a lot of really good history and information on the region, and got to see the locks in action. As an added bonus, the food aboard was excellent. Hence we ...

DO a Panama Canal cruise if you can!

I have looked forward to doing a full transit in the OLD locks - and finally did it! But that takes time (15 days) and a smaller ship (Island or Coral on Princess). There were some stumbles on board because she spent over 700 days out of service - and had only been in service for 15 days when we boarded. Some A/C issues were still being addressed. The crew worked feverishly to make everything ...

A fun cruise with a few minor bumps

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Island Princess

I chose this cruise because I was helping my parents with their travels. Both are mobility challenged and I go along to assist them. A small, but great ship and the remodel was amazing. I'd like to see some highlighted maps that show how to get to the stern of the ship (Deck 8) and perhaps how to get out on the bow. (Deck 10 I believe, but I was not able to get there during the trip as it's ...

Island Princess - Panama Canal

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Island Princess

I have sailed with Princess many, many times and am at the highest level on loyalty classification. I have been spoiled by my last sailings on the Royal and Regal for my last three times. We chose the Panama Canal transit since we haven't done that recently and was going to stop in ports that we have been before. I knew that the Island Princess is much smaller that Royal or Regal, but was ...

Panama Canal always piqued our interest. My husband and I were definitely in need of a vacation and were on the Princess website one day. This cruise 'jumped out' at us and so we booked it that day, without much thought. We had planned to go alone as we were trying to catch up on celebrating our 25th anniversary from last year [we had to cancel our vacation in 2018 because we live in Leilani ...

Sailing south and going through the Panama Canal was a bucket list Item. Princess had a cruise that fit our time line so we booked it a year in advanced. Jade and Lucy the cruise director staff made the cruise such an enjoyable experience. We laughed with them and had competitions with them. they could always be counted on for a smile and a warm and friendly hello. If going, plan on packing ...

Fast quick instead of going to Las Vegas, NV.

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Island Princess

It was a quick fast cruise. Very relaxing. Embarkation was very quick and slick. I was surprised about the extra $10.00 in the Bayou Café for Lobster. On the Ruby Princess, in the first week of October of 2017 I paid only $5.00 extra. So I dined there twice. Norman our room steward did a great job. We only saw him twice during the whole trip. However he took care of all our requests. We ...

Just returned from a cruise to and through the Panama Canal. We, happily, are Platinum Passengers with Princess, so boarding, and disembarking went very smoothly. Our cabin was ready when we boarded, that was grand too. We generally unpack, then take a walking tour around the ship, and familiarize ourselves with it. Did the same with this cruise. The cabin was small, not a big surprise, ...

Well I think they did a nice job for the most part on this sailing ,The company was forced to exchange Ensinada mexico for Nicaragua due to election violence, but its hard to blame them for wanting to keep us safe . I had better food on cruises and the buffet wasnt very good but we never eat there much so no great loss . This cruise had more single acts than production shows and Im prefer ...
