Island Princess - Pacific Coast

Review for Island Princess to Pacific Coastal

We just got off the Island Princess sailing from Los Angeles to Vancouver. Service overall, with one exception (see below) was fabulous. We were on the Royal Princess in January and are booked for Australia in December with a Cruisetour. If we had not booked Australia prior to this cruise, we would have definitely considered another cruise line. The Royal was such a completely different ...

We chose the Panama Canal cruise because it was on our bucket list. The itinerary was great. We felt the cruise was overbooked, understaffed and over priced. Everything on board was pricey - excursions, drinks, photos and shops. Our 2 independent excursions were excellent. The ships excursions were not. The pastries were excellent. The rest of the food did not match the standards we expected ...

We chose this cruise to travel with friends over holiday and had a great time despite from the fact some in the party got sick! Overall I rated it three because the seafood was the only thing that tasted different.......the soups, salads and most entrees all tasted the same in the traditional dining every night! Lots of processed taste, institutional tastes..........not as fresh as the other ...

Captain Michele Tuvo is the best, the very best!!! He was every where, in the dining rooms, buffet, hallways, atrium, talking to passengers and employees, checking on everyone.....Everywhere. The host of the Anytime Dining was also just the best, he knew us by the 2nd or 3rd day. He was just the best. I didn't get his name, but he was from Romania. The most adorable manager of the ...

we booked our cabin on viewing it on the internet. Balcony mid ship 12th floor. Internet shows the cabin to be larger than normal but we have found out this is not true. Our cabin was clean and bed very comfortable our room Stewart was great. The crew was also very good and friendly. Dinner: not up to Princess standards our meals lacked flavor. one night corn chowder was on the menu and it ...

Disappointed to an extent

We were excited to take a 19 day cruise - it had a great itinerary! Unluckily for us - our first port was changed from Puerto Chiapas to Puerto Vallarta. The entrance to the harbor was too shallow due to the earthquake at Puerto Chiapas. We went snorkling at Puerto Vallarta and had fun. We went to Huatalco Mexico and went on an excursion to ruins - disappointed there wasn't much to see ...

Nice enough, but we won't likely choose the Island Princess again...

We chose this cruise for having an overall length of one week, including travel to and from our city. This is our first trip on the Island Princess. Other factors were being on a Princess ship and being reasonably priced. This was a week long getaway, not an annual family vacation. We booked our air travel with EZair, which also includes the transfers from airport to pier. All ticketing and ...

We live in Georgia. We booked this cruise for a halfway meeting point with friends from Hawaii who are also frequent cruisers, and to make a port call in Oregon, a state we have never visited before. This is our 30th cruise overall, 25th on Princess. We were successful in our first goal, disappointed in the second. We booked our air travel through Princess EZ Air and flew without incident from ...

We have been on many cruises with 10 different lines, with about half on Princess (30+). I'll admit this review is biased. Having plenty of advance warning about the "wonderful" changes Princess had done to the Island Princess, I was predisposed not to like them. We had cruised several times before on both Island and Coral Princess (sister ship) and they were among our favorite ships. Coral ...

Great itinerary, mediocre ship

This was our first time on the Island Princess and I think it can best be described as "cozy". While there were many things that I liked about this smaller Princess ship, its lack of space also presented some challenges. The decorations were lovely and the overall "vibe" was one that I really appreciated. However, there was no dedicated "disco", the workout room was almost non-existent and had no ...
