Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Coral Princess

I choose this cruise to see Central America and the Panama Canal. The ports were very good, but Huatulco Nicaragua, the Canal experience and Guatemala were the highlights for me. The tours in these locations were the best. The ship is small which made it easy to get around. The service was lacking in some areas. The dining room meals were skimpy and not very tasty. I didn't see any shows ...

Nursing Home at Sea

This was my first cruise and I was really looking forward to enjoying the trip with my grandparents. Overall I had a good time with my family but I was pretty disappointed in the whole experience. The majority of the passengers were over 70 years old and combined with the subpar food quality and cheesy entertainment it felt like a glorified nursing home. Although the Coral Princess was supposed to ...

Second time on Princess (first on Coral). Had done the same itinerary two years go on Island. Got upgraded to balcony on Caribe Deck. Location was good and had a covered balcony. However it was really too cold to spend anytime on it! Embarkation and Disembarkation went very smoothly (I was in first group both times with carry on luggage). Ship has supposedly been recently updates..seemingly the ...

Coral Princess needs a total makeover

We choose this cruise for the itinerary. But wish that we had chosen another ship. the Coral Princess seems tired and worn out. The staff was GREAT and really enjoyed the good, clean entertainment. The port of calls were excellent and I think that Princess worked hard (and succeeded) in making the trip through the Panama Canal very memorable. The narrator through out the crossing, Chris, was ...

We took this cruise to see new ports. The overnight in Canal was wasted time - we could have made one more port and spent one day less at sea, or made the additional port an overnight stay. Food in dining rooms was good to very good, but Horizon Court meals were only above average. This may be acceptable on a mega ship, but is questionable on a ship with less than 2000 passengers aboard. ...

Just Average

The ship was kept very clean and was well decorated. The waiters in the dining room dressed up for the themed nights which helped to make them special. Although the food was prepared well and service was very good, the meal selections were very repetitive. We saw the same items over and over again. There were a lot of sea days but not a lot of interesting things to do. The Spa staff ...

We booked a flight through EZAir and everything went according to plan. We also used the Princess transfer and that too went without trouble. We started off on the wrong foot with this cruise. Princess had my S&S card, but no S&S card for DH. We were told to take a seat and one would be made for DH on the ship. We waited for over 45 minutes to get his card. This also happened on the last ...

Review for a Asia Cruise on Coral Princess

We chose the Coral Princess Circle-the-North-Pacific cruise because it offered us the opportunity to visit several countries that were still on our Bucket List: Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and the Philippines. We enjoyed it despite two cancellations---Kushiro (weather-related) and Osaka (logistical issues). The itinerary would have benefited from fewer Alaskan ports, Icy Strait Point being the ...

Poor Organization

Review for a Asia Cruise on Coral Princess

I chose this cruise for the ports in Asia that were offered. One port in Japan was missed because of weatherr, another port in Japan was missed due to the poor organization of fuel delivery causing us to sit at anchor for a full day. The crew seemed to try to accommodate us, but their leadership was sorely lacking. Little things like the wine prices suddenly hiked when the menu prices were still ...

Earlier this year we did the 94-day World Cruise on the Pacific Princess and expected that since this was a 60-day cruise the onboard activities, food and entertainment would be similar. Unfortunately Princess treated it like a 14-day cruise. Choose this cruise for the itinerary which was very good except that Beijing should have been an overnight. Rough weather between Alaska and Japan ...
