Great Cruise

Review for Island Princess to Panama Canal & Central America

This cruise met our time and destination requirements. The Island Princess is just the right size to go thru the old locks of the Panama Canal. Having sailed on this ship in the past we knew it was one of the best in the Princess fleet. The people we met on the ship were wonderful. The Crooners bar was the prime meeting place on the ship for a great many people. We certainly looked forward ...

Don't choose Princess if you have special needs

I know many people don't understand the seriousness of food related illnesses and allergies. When I alter a dish or ask for the special menu I expect an eyeroll and an "in my day..." comment from those around me. What I don't expect is to be treated like the staff is feeding scaps to a bilge rat. I was fed succotash with asian sweet & sour sauce, a raw onion taco, cold crunchy red ...

Outstanding service. Good level of luxury.

We had very good experience on another Princess cruise, and wanted to take one through the Panama Canal. This one proved to be just as good. Food, stateroom, entertainment, and service were of high quality. As expected. We enjoyed the luxury and attention to detail. Communication was efficient. There were some glitches with their MedallionClass app, which were handled by the staff as best they ...

Arrived as Passenger, Left as Cargo

We chose this cruise as we wanted to do a full transit of the Panama Canal. And this cruise totally delivered on that. We experienced going through the canal from the Miraflores, the Pedro Miguel, and then the Gatun locks. We received a lot of really good history and information on the region, and got to see the locks in action. As an added bonus, the food aboard was excellent. Hence we ...

DO a Panama Canal cruise if you can!

I have looked forward to doing a full transit in the OLD locks - and finally did it! But that takes time (15 days) and a smaller ship (Island or Coral on Princess). There were some stumbles on board because she spent over 700 days out of service - and had only been in service for 15 days when we boarded. Some A/C issues were still being addressed. The crew worked feverishly to make everything ...

Had a great time on the emerald princess, wonderful weather, great food and service. Entertainment was enjoyable. Back to back cruises, Panama Canal LOs Angeles to Fort Lauderdale, followed by a 14 days Circle the Caribbean. If you like a great evening in a fun atmosphere I suggest the Wheelhouse bar on Deck 7 next to the Princess Theater. James Naldo acoustic guitar is a great way to ...

I did this cruise once before through the Old Locks and this was even a better experience. The entire passage through the locks was narrated by an experienced commentator and was also on the TV in my room so it was easy to appreciate it. I also was happy with all the ports selected. My balcony cabin on the port side was lovely. Ports tours that I enjoyed were San Sebastian above Puerto ...

My wife and I took the 15 night ocean to ocean Panama Canal cruise. The ship was extremely well maintained and extremely clean. The level at which the crew kept everything disinfected was amazing. Onboard we were very happy except for one show Nerdy Noah which was so bad it made you wonder if Princess actually reviewed his performance before hand. It was just terrible. We had three marvelous ...

Viking is the Best

This was our 15th cruise, on 6th different brand. The last 4 on Viking, including a Viking River cruise. We love the personal touch that Viking gives their guest, we are not just another customer attitude. Ships are a little smaller which allows them to get into a 'working port'. They don't require a large cruise port terminal, so sometimes they will dock at a more private port where there are ...

Absolutely awesome - a safe way to travel during the pandemic!

Review for Norwegian Bliss to Panama Canal & Central America

The Panama Canal transit cruise was a bucket list trip for us. Originally a 60th birthday present for my spouse - last year - it was delayed a year due to the pandemic and restart of cruising. We made our final payments in October, and then Omicron hit in mid-December - yikes. But, we decided to go ahead and go anyway as we figured it would be a safe way to travel during the pandemic - and we were ...
