The itinerary seemed both exciting and romantic. Plus, there was no overseas travel involved for us (from Chicago). We were also looking to sail on the Queen Elizabeth. The Emerald Princess is a roomy ship with plenty of outdoor space. I was most impressed with all of the staff. Shows were great. I did notice some cutbacks in the choices of food in the MDR. The NCL Bliss exceeded our expectations and is an upgrade f.i. compared with the NCL Getaway. It is a busy ship, but restaurants and pools are always accessable without waiting. Lots of loungers available at the pool, even on seedays!

The jewel was impeccably clean, and well maintained despite its age. The crew were all very friendly, super helpful. There were activities all over the ship at all hours of the day and a show inside the Stardust theatre every night. No matter if it was a port day or sea day, there was never a dull moment.

We had very good experience on another Princess cruise, and wanted to take one through the Panama Canal. This one proved to be just as good. Food, stateroom, entertainment, and service were of high quality. As expected. We enjoyed the luxury and attention to detail. Communication was efficient.

This cruise met our time and destination requirements. The Island Princess is just the right size to go thru the old locks of the Panama Canal. Having sailed on this ship in the past we knew it was one of the best in the Princess fleet.

I did this cruise once before through the Old Locks and this was even a better experience. The entire passage through the locks was narrated by an experienced commentator and was also on the TV in my room so it was easy to appreciate it. I also was happy with all the ports selected.
