Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Bliss

This is a big ship. Very nice. Nicely appointed and newish. Getting on and off was quick and easy. The staff everywhere were friendly, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The cabin steward did a really good job, had a lot of cabins to do but, he was inconsistent timing. Sometimes cabin was cleaned at 9 AM and other times it was still undone at 2:30 PM. He did a very good job though. The ...

15 day Panama Canal Cruise

We paid extra to be in a balcony cabin so we could look out and sit outside while cruising . It took a long while to get on, and even longer to get off. Our cabin was not thoughly cleaned before we were allowed up. We found a makeup brush on the floor. Our sliding glass door, the glass balcony and the balcony rail were all caked with salt and I couldn't see through them. When sitting in a ...

A bit disappointed

I went with my son to celebrate his birthday. We have been on many cruises before, all on Carnival. Chose this cruise for its itinerary, also looked like a great ship. The ship was beautiful, cabins were nice, Stewart was great. Very disappointed in the food, all the carnival cruises I’ve taken the dining room food is so good. The dining room here was ok at best. When you are on a 15 day cruise ...

Disappointing for a luxury line

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Seven Seas Grandeur

The Grandeur was our first experience sailing on a Regent ship. When deciding upon the cruise line for our long-awaited transit of the Panama Canal, we selected Regent because had heard good things and we thought it would be fun to try a brand new ship. We were disappointed. The ship itself is a marvel, better than other luxury lines we have sailed. The public spaces are large and inviting. The ...

Not like the old days

Review for a South America Cruise on Celebrity Eclipse

We elected to purchase this cruise because of the price, and the itinerary (many ports we had not been to before.) We have been on six prior Celebrity cruises and even on this ship. Our overall experience was disappointing. First and foremost, the food in the main dinning room was sub par. The steaks were as thin as a pancake and no matter how discribed on the menu they were the same steak. ...

Overall Alright Cruise

I went with my cousin on this cruise from LA to Miami via the Panama Canal. Overall, it was fine, but definitely not the caliber of cruises I had taken in the past (pre-pandemic) with RCC. My opinions are as follows: Cabin: We had a junior suite, mid-ship, that met my expectation for space and comfort. The beds were very comfortable and the veranda had a lounger, which was nice to relax in. The ...

A Mixed Bag With a Lot of Room For Improvement

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Bliss

Our balcony cabin was on Deck 12 towards the aft. Maybe that location explains why we had to endure noticeable vibrations seemingly from the engines all the time. It got so bad at one point (Day 2) that I called Guest Services; they sent a representative to our cabin and confirmed the situation. With apologies and statements to say that the issue would be looked into, that was that. The situation ...

Oceania standards have dropped

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Oceania Vista

Wanted to transit through the Panama canal. Having been on Oceania before we were looking forward to this cruise. Previously we were really impressed with the service and food. Sadly Oceania's standards have dropped greatly. The quality of the staff on board is not very good. One is constantly trying to get service and often we have had to resort to find the restaurant manager and asking ...

We chose this cruise because it was a complete transit of the Panama Canal. The cruise had 5 stops plus a full day transiting the canal. Stops were Puerto Vallarta and Huatulco, Mexico; Puntarenas, Costa Rica; Panama City, Panama; and Cartagena, Columbia. We booked local tours through Travel Advisor for all ports but Puntarenas which we booked through Princess. The Princess tour in ...
