1-10 of 42 Norwegian Jewel Cruise Reviews for Senior to the Panama Canal & Central America from Los Angeles
The jewel was impeccably clean, and well maintained despite its age. The crew were all very friendly, super helpful. There were activities all over the ship at all hours of the day and a show inside the Stardust theatre every night. No matter if it was a port day or sea day, there was never a dull moment.
During this Nov sailing, the ship was more than half empty. I suspect because most kids ...
We chose this cruise for a couple of reasons - ports of call including the Panama Canal and second the price was amazing. NCL service is absolutely TOP NOTCH in all aspects of delivery. Everyone was polite, helpful, kind and courteous. The Jewel is a great ship - just the right size - not too big/not too small. The refurbishment is NICE. Ports of call included Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, ...
Cruise was chosen because of length and destination. Buffet food was delicious, but ice cream machines were not always functioning. It would have been nice to have an ice cream machine near the pool. Coffee was too strong for our taste. We watered it down. Decor in dining rooms was not as elegant as some larger ships. Personnel were fabulous. Our room stewardess (last name Harris) was very ...
Destination was to travel through Panamal Canal...great experience! Long day, but worth it in every way. A smaller ship which we love...easy access to activities and some variety...a few more activities would be great...good variety of bars and restaurants and times open are great...no sign up for games in card room...had to find your own partners, sign up sheet would be nice for bridge or other ...
This was a Panama Canal through transit from Los Angeles, Ca, to Miami, Fl. It was on my wife's and my bucket list.
The boarding process was easily done. There was only one hiccup. Actual boarding was delayed for three and one half hours. This was not the fault of NCL. The Coast Guard pulled a surprise safety inspection so boarding was delayed until the Jade was cleared.
The excursions ...
We booked this cruise for the Panama Canal. Everything else was just extras. We are a married couple in our mid 50s and this is our 15th cruise overall, 7th on NCL.
We live on the east coast, so we booked the LA to Miami route so we had a shorter flight home at the end of the trip. We flew in a day ahead and stayed at the Doubletree San Pedro. Nice, generic hotel but a bit more isolated ...
New ports that we've never been to made us book this cruise, and we always have been pleased with NCL. The ports were so interesting, our steward so caring, ship was lovely, though we use the ship more to get to destinations rather than participate in ship activities. Moderno was our favorite specialty restaurant. Having been to Brazil, it was a fabulous experience on board. Mini-suite nice, ...
This was our 5 th cruise with ncl. 3 of them on this ship. We are latatude members because we have traveled with them so many times. We are awarded certain perks. Standing in line for over 2 hours is not one of them. No more bringing soda or water on board, company policy. Once on board the room was great. Large bathroom with a tub. If you bring your own coffee be sure to bring basket type ...
My husband had the Panama Canal on his bucket list so off we went with a group of 13. NCL did the travel arrangements and that went very well. The food was excellent. I have always said Carnival has better food than NCL but not anymore. NCL is much better now. The food and service in the Restraunts were wonderful. The Entertainment, as usual, was of very high quality. Our room Stewart was ...
This was our 1st cruise on NCL and it was great. The service is outstanding. We really enjoyed meeting new people, going to the nightly shows, watching movies, being able to choose from a variety of dining options and taking part in some of the activities. What did we do besides relaxing at the pool? We took part in trivia contests, bingo, deal or no deal, origami classes, Q&A sessions from ...
