The jewel was impeccably clean, and well maintained despite its age. The crew were all very friendly, super helpful. There were activities all over the ship at all hours of the day and a show inside the Stardust theatre every night. No matter if it was a port day or sea day, there was never a dull moment.

We chose this cruise for a couple of reasons - ports of call including the Panama Canal and second the price was amazing. NCL service is absolutely TOP NOTCH in all aspects of delivery. Having been through the Suez twice, we wanted to do the Panama, & were really pleased that we choose the 'Jewel".

Cruise was chosen because of length and destination. Buffet food was delicious, but ice cream machines were not always functioning. It would have been nice to have an ice cream machine near the pool. We cruised the Canal 29 years ago and were anxious to do this cruise again. We had a very good experience.
There was a 2 hour delay at embarkation as there was a surprise Coast Guard inspection so the cruise did not get off to a great start. But once we got on, all was well.

This was a Panama Canal through transit from Los Angeles, Ca, to Miami, Fl. It was on my wife's and my bucket list.
The boarding process was easily done. There was only one hiccup. Actual boarding was delayed for three and one half hours. This was not the fault of NCL. The Coast Guard pulled a surprise safety inspection so boarding was delayed until the Jade was cleared.
