Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Sapphire Princess

My husband had never been to Hawaii so we chose this cruise. His biggest complaint on this ship is that the casino had not poker table. It mostly met our expectations. The food was good, but not outstanding. The service in our dining room was excellent. It was sometimes slow at breakfast. The size of the buffet was small so therefore there was very little variety. The crowd was mostly older. ...

Mostly smooth sailing on Grand Princess to Hawaii April 4th-19th 2022

We choose this cruise as it's been a "bucket list" cruise for us for a while, but mostly because back in November we were very concerned that our two week Caribbean cruise would be canceled, so we cancelled it proactively and booked the 15 day Hawaii cruise. We had previously sailed on Grand in December for a 10 day Mexico cruise and really enjoyed it. The trip across the ocean from LA to Hilo ...

Hawaii Delight on the Grand

We wanted lots of sea days and a chance to visit four islands in Hawaii so sailing on the Grand Princess was a no brainer. The Grand Princess leaves from San Pedro California round trip to Hawaii. The Grand Princess is an older ship but full of nostalgia and beautiful wood furnishings throughout the ship. It’s a classy and well maintained ship. The food was so delicious. It was well ...

Nice Comeback from Two Year Covid Related Hiatus

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Grand Princess

This itinerary was the last cruise we took pre-Covid. In fact, we were one of the last ships able to disembark at Port of Los Angeles before everything shut down. We love the itinerary and had rebooked/cancelled several times during the pandemic and were finally able to go. The Grand Princess was well prepared for resuming cruise operations, with some minor glitches in crew training and ...

Cruising Through Covid to Hawaii

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Grand Princess

I am an 84 year old woman who has been on 33 cruises, but I had a hip replacement in 2019 and use a mobility scooter or a walker. I can no longer navigate an airport by myself. My companion of choice on this cruise was Phyllis, my 3rd daughter's mother-in-law, who was recently widowed, and is a little younger and a lot fitter than I am. She had been on several cruises - the most recent one was ...

Hawaii - At last!

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Grand Princess

This cruise was originally booked in 2019 for sailing on March 13, 2020. The day before sailing, the cruise was cancelled due to Covid. It was rebooked 3 times before we finally were able to sail. We were more than ready! The pre-cruise Covid testing passed and we were on our way to LA. The night prior to the cruise, we received a text saying we would have a Covid test prior to boarding. ...

28 days in Fantasyland

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Emerald Princess

Well, if 28 days aboard a beautiful cruise ship, being catered to, sailing to Hawaii and Tahiti - AND not getting sick isn't Fantasyland for the Senior Set, than I'll have what you're having. Embarkation was uneventful, after a night at the Long Beach Hilton and a Princess arranged transfer. We enjoyed the cruise card again, perhaps for the last time, as the Medallion era is now upon us. The ...

I loved the itinerary offered on this cruise. I had not sailed on Princess since 2005 so I was looking forward to my cruise. Even though we were not able to get into Samoa, we had a couple of extra days in Hawaii and one in French Polynesia. The ship is 13 years old but I thought for the most part it was very clean. The staff was outstanding and the Captain was amazing interacting with the ...

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Celebrity Eclipse

User Avatar

The ship remains very nice. We took the Celebrity Eclipse on its initial trans-Atlantic cruise from England to Florida in 2010. The life boat drill was awful. We were crammed into the photo studio and forced to watch a LONG cheesy video that we could not see or hear. The main evening dining was so-so. There were 3 nights I could not eat my meal. Pork chop was so tough I could not ...
