The new "Medallion" tool is awful and there is no alternative offered to this horror

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Grand Princess

We chose this itinerary for the seadays involved in getting to and from HI. We'd also had nice experiences with Princess pre-pandemic so we opted for them again. While we were in lockdown, Princess spent two years developing an onboard network tool called Medallion. It's a device, the medallion they issue you on boarding to wear on your person, and it's a network for interfacing with ...

We chose this cruise to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The cruise went as expected with a lot Princess had to offer watered down or non-existent due to Covid ad supply chain issues. These were known going in so I wont elaborate further. That said, Princess, or namely the staff and crew of Grand Princess was adequate, at best. The ship made the trip without any major problems. The cabin had ...

Old and tired

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Grand Princess

The staff was wonderful, the room was spacious and clean but that is where it ends. The ship is old and broken down, an empty pool, the spas were broken and cold more often than not, the sauna worked some days and not others. The buffet food was horrible, and cold. You could get cold fried eggs or cold scrambled eggs but if you want warm eggs you had to pick the hard boiled eggs. The dessert ...

Really disappointed and this was our Honeymoon

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Grand Princess

Booked this cruise for March 2020 for our Honeymoon. Was the first cruise ship I was on in 2001 and had a fantastic time back then. We are not vaccinated but filled out the paperwork for our exemption and also our exemption for the state of Hawaii. Was tested 4 times and all were negative. Was told that if anyone tests positive for covid we wouldn't be able to get off in Hawaii. Then we ...

Very Disappointed With This Cruise

Boarded on 1/19 and had been tested 3 times for Covid and was negative including before we boarded the ship. On 1/21 we had to be tested again as a requirement of Hawaii. My wife tested positive for Covid and was taken by medical to another cabin for a 10 day quarantine, but I tested negative, so they had me stay in our booked room. This made no sense to me, since we are married and sleep ...

Regent, “an unrivaled experience” is one I have no intention of replicating. Here is a rundown: 1. Arrival at airport was disorganized. After waiting about 15 minutes in airport we waited about another 45 minutes at the curb. 2. Next morning at hotel, breakfast ended at nine am with checkout at noon then a wait of a further hour+ before bus to port. On the way to port the bus driver kept ...

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Carnival Splendor

We stayed the night before at a Marriott near LAX and took an Uber to the port the next morning. The embarkation in Long Beach, a disorganized three-hour lineup in heat, with no water and no place to sit down for the first two hours, was, in retrospect, a foreshadowing of the disappointing trip to come. It was as if Carnival staff had never done this before and was thus more concerned with ...

CARNIVAL CATTLE CRUISE. Itinerary: LA, Hawaii, Honolulu, Guam, Malay, Vietnam, Singapore. Derek Johnson- Carnival Splendor cabin 1277- Oct5>30 2019. Many apologies about embarkation proceedings onto Carnival Splendor, at Los Angeles, long beach, 5 Oct 2019. Verbal platitudes are not enough. This explanation using my personal experience as 70 years old male typifies what occurred. Arrived at ...

Boring

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Ruby Princess

First Time Cruiser • Age 50s

Staff were fantastic but this cruise was 95% retirees over the age of 70. The activities were designed to entertain the same age bracket. We are late 40s and found the activities boring and the demographics were way too old. Other than great pools, there was nothing to entertain our age bracket. The internet was terrible, too slow and lots of drop outs. The room service was great, although no ...

I guess their remodel lat year didn’t go well. Tv has frozen and gone out every 2 or 3 days. Toilets take 20 to 40 minutes to flush,if at all.they always apologize but that is not what we paid for.we are 3 elite captains circle members and have done this 15 day Hawaii cruiseover 10 times and never had these problems. I’ll never book the ruby again. Food was mediocre nothing to brag about.princess ...
