This was my first time on a Princess Cruise. Last year, my fiancé and I went on a Carnival Cruise to Mexico and we had an amazing time. We absolutely loved it, from the food to the service to the entertainment. The staff was phenomenal. So our expectations for the Princess Emerald were pretty high. We had a lot of pros and cons in regards to the onboard experience.
First, the positives. The ...
The destination was awecome. We loved Hawaii!
But, the food on The Emerals Princess was very disappointing. It was never hot on the Horizon buffet. The omlets were jujst not good, somehow and the selection limited, at least for my taste. The quality of the beef in the dining room was inferior to previous cruises. Somehow, we just never cared for the offerings in the dining foom which is unusual ...
We chose this cruise for its ports of call. The food on this cruise was very good as was the entertainment. The ship was clean and majority of crew members were very nice. Our cabin steward brought us our requested ice each day. He was able to straighten our cabin early when we went to breakfast and dinner.
The cabin was very small compared to what we have experienced on other similar cruise ...
Paid for internet access. Princess knew that their equipment was faulty and internet effectively unavailable. They even posted it at their internet café. Nice people at internet café couldn't get my email working either.
The primary purpose of my trip was to be in a quite place to catch-up on work that required internet access. Other than an OK cruise on a ship scheduled for a major ...
We left from Los Angeles and the weather was rough for the first couple days, but that was to be expected with a storm front. Embarkation went very well, very organized. Disembarkation was also very good. The cabin was good and the steward was excellent. Nearly all the food we order and the food on the buffet came to us lukewarm, at the best. The last 4 days, we found a terrific waitress in the ...
This is our third Los Angeles to Hawaii round-trip cruise - two on Princess and one on Celebrity. The Stateroom and Dining room service were excellent - equal to or better than any we have had before (35 cruises). We arrived in Los Angeles the day before the cruise and stayed in the DoubleTree Hotel in San Pedro. It is a really nice place to stay and they run a free shuttle which will take you ...
We experienced very rough seas. We’ve never gotten seasick before but certainly experienced it on this cruise. Not enough to do with 8 sea days. The marine biologist was very informative and funny. They needed to find additional things to fill the sea days since people couldn’t go outside to sun bath. Comedians could have done afternoon shows. Also movies could have been shown during the day ...
The ship is "old" but don't let that stop you. We didn't mind the pink decor. The crew was great. The people that served food in the MDR were great and once they got to know you, they would make suggestions on what they think you would like. The hostess who seated you in most part were very nice.
There was plenty to eat; as this was a "journey" cruise. On sea days they either served ...
Overall everything was as expected. Long Beach terminal does a really good job at embarkation, so that is a good way to start out. There were storms coming into California, so the first few days at sea were a little bit rocky, but I just took my Ginger Root and never had any problems with getting sick. My husband never has to take anything and never got sick either. I loved the sea days as it was ...
The ship is what i expected for a mid size ship. All areas of the ship i visited were all as clean as can be.We can start from the top down. the Mini Golf on deck 14 was always to windy to play when at sea. Serenity area was clean and normally with space available.
Lido buffet was just average like any buffet at home area.the Pizza was ok. Non guys burger joint was also only average. The deli ...
