Crew is amazing!

The crew have been handpicked for the ultimate world cruise and it shows. They are bending over backwards to bring unique experiences, cultural shows, destination briefings, etc. The company has created some frustrations through inconsistent policies towards people doing same types of sailings (ex, offering discounts to those paying in advanced but not applying this equally to clients), and on ...

Oceania vs SS my review of Regatta

Just got back from a week long cruise on Oceania regatta and wanted to share my opinions/ experience of the ship/cruise line vs Silversea for those that are interested in seeing a comparison. It was 19 years ago when we last cruised on the Regatta which was our first Oceania ship. I would have to say that Oceania did a wonderful job refurbishing this ship, so if all the other R size ships ...

My husband and I wanted a romantic getaway and Oceana was advertised about being luxury and amazing food. After several other cruises we thought we would give it a go thinking it could be right for us... 1. Food was not amazing. We had about 50% success rate with the meals. A few were very good. They are catering to an older crowd and not a foodie crowd. 2. Older crowd is the focus 75+ ...

We chose it because of Ravings about O’s food. 1. -The buffet always had a better variety than the MDR and the food was usually ok although the chef seems to fear spice. We were expecting food like the photos online..nope, unless you were in a specialty restaurant. + No charge for these, must make reservations. + room service was great… Food and service top notch in room service. + Lobster is ...

Lovely cruise with a few irritations

This was our first cruise with Oceania. We have sailed many other lines before, but this was the smallest, most luxury ship we have sailed, and there were things we loved and things we didn't. We had a Concierge balcony. First, the service on this ship was amazing. Everyone went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed/wanted. This was one of the highlights of the cruise. ...

We had been to the States before and have friends living in LA so decided to visit them for a bit and then go on a before heading back home to NZ. It really was a great experience. So relaxing and a great way to visit some of the coastline. I had ordered a PH2 suite which was great, but of course we are now ruined for any future trips. Loved how easy embarking was and the little extras like ...

Great food and beverage can’t overcome room and service problems

We sailed on the Regatta, round trip Los Angeles, on April 24. It was our first cruise on Oceania and we were looking forward to trying a new cruise line. Here is my long review. Our overall impression is that the Regatta has great cuisine, as promised, but it is let down by other areas. The osso buco and carbonara in Toscana and beef bourguignon were some of the best meals on a cruise ship, ...

As my husband had just retired it was time for us to try a longer cruise and The Splendour Journey Cruise of 24 days looked perfect. After a bit of a problem getting onto the ship (3 hour wait) due to technical issues with collecting passports and other paperwork, we were onboard. Our cabin was an inside on deck 6 midships. It was a nice size and had plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. It ...

We stayed the night before at a Marriott near LAX and took an Uber to the port the next morning. The embarkation in Long Beach, a disorganized three-hour lineup in heat, with no water and no place to sit down for the first two hours, was, in retrospect, a foreshadowing of the disappointing trip to come. It was as if Carnival staff had never done this before and was thus more concerned with ...
